ivolt: Producers my foot. Can you list the industries where these producers enjoy lower rates and how such rates reflect in their prices by resisting inflation? production related imports. Example is petrol. NNPCL used the I&E window to import it otherwise it would have been around N780 when it was deregulated late last month. That petrol is what short distance wholesalers use to move foods. Farmers too power water pumps with it. |

Saintinoo: Tinubu didn't float the naira, you don't float something you fixed, he fixed naira at 635 or there about, so where is the floating? he floated it oga. That's where itmis for now, when market equilibriums change, it will adjust accordingly. |

Escapist: How many producers, especially small scale ones, do you think were able to access forex at official rates in reality? Many manufacturers often had to resort to obtaining forex at black market rate. Only well connected big players could boast of getting CBB rates and not even consistently.
The float makes business easier for SMEs as black market rates will eventually drop. So because your oga at the top was clueless about how to check sharp practices by corrupt officials and big men, he made everybody suffer. |

Grayoso: Okay. I can appreciate that but you should understand that Nigeria needs fundamental reforms that are unavoidable, and may cause discomfort in the short term, but are crucial to our nation's medium to long term growth and development.
Too much inefficiency in every sector has led to unacceptable national stagnation and mediocrity. I don't see Tinubu has done anything wrong so far. I think he should be given at least 6 months by objective and progressive Nigerians. Solution to inefficiency is never cancellation of welfare or subsidies. Inefficiency comes from inefficient people and structures and they are very much around to waste whatever subsidy removal brings to the coffees of govt. UK has a leaking HIS scheme and even petrol subsidy scheme too but didn't cancel theirs. It is being managed. Defaulters face the music and are not amplified into some kind of untouchable clique by their govt. |

Subsidy is for thieves called Oil marketers to be enriching themselves and Nigerians have backed its removal.
Now we must work hard to ensure our State-owned refineries work too and not rely on one businessman out to make profit to solve our country's challenges. and how many refinery has he fixed or has he conceded defeat already? |
