omohayek:
Rubbish! You and the other Emefiele apologists conveniently leave out the statutory independence of the CBN governor in order to pretend that Emefiele had no choice but to act as a lapdog jumping at Buhari's every command.

https://businessday.ng/news/legal-business/article/what-does-the-cbns-independence-really-mean/

The truth is that Emefiele chose to act like Buhari's houseboy of his own free will, because he is a man without a spine, an iota of principle or any trace of a conscience. His responsibilities over the welfare of 200 million Nigerians be damned, Emefiele's sole concern was his own personal advancement, whether through squandering billions of USD in foreign reserves so Buhari's cronies could make risk-free profits via "round-tripping", shamelessly trying to run for President while retaining his position as CBN governor, or wrecking the livelihoods of millions of ordinary people in a harebrained "new Naira notes" scheme whose apparent justification was simply about making one particular Presidential candidate look bad in the run-up to voting.

Let's face it, if Emefiele were Yoruba or Fulani, you would be amongst the loudest voices on here condemning his long tenure of incompetence and outright criminality. The only reason you don't is because, as ever with so many of your mindset, it seems impossible for you to admit that any of your "kinsmen" can ever be to blame for anything, no matter what the facts indicate.
what is the function of the finance minister and FEC?

Money is a medium of exchange of goods and services. Monetary policies are centered around money flow. Everyone APC apologist have lost their brain trying to rope a CBN gov into every thing wrong in Nigeria.

Under whose watch did those happened ? No sense at all or just mischief ?
a huge piece of malformed organic compound you are.
If not, did emefiele do anything under Tinubu?

If the goats can go after him for his actions under Buhari why not go after the other terrorist sponsors as alarmed by UAE and UK?

You a piece organic error.

All nigerians should be fully aware that many of the pro APC \tinubu accounts you see here are not casual users and commenters like you and I but a coordinated sophisticated propaganda network that employs people to parrot the party's talking points and attack the opposition.

Don't fall prey to the APC's propaganda. Don't let them use your head and influence your opinions.

I don't know why more people don't highlight this.

Once you see accounts of seunmssg, parachokoo, ilegendheroo, know that these are not casual users but paid propagandists with multiple accounts used to generate "likes" corresponding to similar likes on pro-obi posts.

Use your head.

Hmmmm. It will take a bastard not to see the obvious contradiction in this whole emefiele vs Tinubu/APC saga. What happened to the sponsors of terrorism UAE and others alarmed us about? But see the swiftness and openness with which these entities are following up Emefiele. What about accountant general?

The same selective justice system that allowed subsidy to go but corruption to remain.

There's nothing wrong with trade liberalization.

The reason why you export is to have money to pay for your imports. We do not stock Martian pounds as we don't do business with Mars.

Trade liberalization forces countries to focus resources on things they are good at. You don't need to protect your economy from things you are good at. For instance, only a dumb person would import plantain into the country. Even if they do, plantain farmers won't be scared.

Countries do best when they focus resources on industries they have comparative advantage. For instance, crude oil has greatly benefitted the country. Imagine if the nation had fully developed it and was refining 3mbpd of crude oil, was the 2nd largest gas exporter after Algeria in Africa, was the logistic hub of the oil industry in Africa, had the largest indigenous oil servicing companies on the continent, how big do you think the GDP would be now?

Now imagine replicating that feat in 5 other industries? That's what Germany is renown for. There'll be this Mittelstand (medium size company) that will account for half of the global supply of a certain component in car batteries for instance-and you have hundreds of companies like these.

Liberalization enables you to enjoy the things produced in other countries competitively while they enjoy yours.
Liberalization with shitty discipline is nothing. In USA, the state of Detroit focuses on autos and do a good job in it but above all are backed by the federal govt and enjoy substantial financial intervention from the US govt if the need arises. Can we say that here? Intervention are mostly targeted at a small group of people and that's why tribes generally dominates specific industries. Example is trade and commerce, Igbo's or south easterner.

Haulage and agriculture, northerners.

If you sell your corn to a pap or flakes maker at give away price, that doesn't make you a co-owner of the pap or cornflakes he makes with it. You can only negotiate to buy the end product of the corn a little bit lower than market value.

Tinubu is as good as the new CBN governor and only approved this figurehead IT specialist to seat there and the take falls for his preempted missteps.

The guy read Mechanical Engineering, Headed IT unit of a renowned pensioners' bank as his highest experience in banking. Same way Buhari appointed figureheads like Buratai and Sylva.

Nigerians prefer mediocrity. Can people in the rural areas produce their own electricity? Someone sat somewhere and formulated what will benefit him and you are praising him sad...
churches, small branches of banks and business can generate and sell still. This is not a million dollar venture they are enabling for smallholders.

A church or bank that runs a 30kva gen set can sell extra energy if they realize their average load is below the gen base load.
Politics › Re: 10 Benefits Of 2023 Electricity Act Bill Signed By President Tinubu by CodeTemplar: 2:37pm On Jun 09, 2023
The bill is long overdue but will face challenges that have evolved as a result of hardened habits its delay has allowed. One of such hardened habit is stealing of electricity. Once the user doesn't pay, the distributor and generator suffer losses and stagnation in operation. The best approach is to encourage mini-grids or grids within the national grid.
