Anyone who demands accountability from LASG is from Abia and Anambra to your type. I don't blame you much.

Pos will charge 50 naira for 1000 n 200 for 10000

Help me as him if it’s not d same effort, many of them just put mouth into what they know nothing about once tinubu is involved

Anything tinubu like this, they off their brain before they comment
You are very wrong. POS operators spend more to get more cash. With withdrawal limit in place, they queue more to make more withdrawals and thus need more time or a dedicated withdrawal assistant, spend more to buy more cash from filling stations, gas stations, and cash driven businesses. They also shoulder the risks of banks in transferring cash and it cost money sometimes.

Alpha Beta on the other hand, will receive a N1000 tax and a N100m tax alike. Same bandwidth, documents, and resources are expended. Add to this fact, the reality that once an organisation, business entity or tax source is identified, recurrent tax collection is easier.

blackpanda:
Let me be honest, they should stop calling it unemployment. The better term is laziness. Nigeria youth laziness is now 41%. Most youth don't want hard work. They are programmed to sit inside office to be earning 10 or 20k, and with very poor work ethics and bad attitude.
all the ones risking interstate travel to go and be interviewed for N50k jobs too are lazy. The ones who cannot fuel the gen to run business centres, cafes etc too are lazy. Those planting okronand ginger instead of grain to avoid herdsmen clashes too are lazy. The ones going to other states to do bricklayer work, okada, keke driving too are lazy.

Only one animal typing propaganda out of his android phone is hardworking. I salute your state of mind o, bros.

WhisperedNoise:
Buhari has FAILED on virtually all his promises.
How will unemployment be 41%?
It's very bad and sad.
Even the ones who want to delve into entrepreneurship, the cost of production is extremely high. Unilever is discontinuing production of some of the brands we grew up with.

I can't blame the government anyways. It's filled with dull people (no offense). From Minister of Labor to Minister of Finance to most of them.

The only thing these politicians are good at is throwing tantrums on Twitter. Sad.

Clowns with a big, red nose.
People join politics to make money. No surprises.

It's your kind of mentality that has left so many businesses stuck in 2x2 corner shops because their owners prefer to own 100% of nothing rather than "just" 5% of something worth billions. It's a good thing Lagos isn't being run by people with your way of thinking.
Prosperity of the corrupt elite at the expense of the people when there are fairer alternatives is what I am challenging here. 5% or 10% of everything in this case is unfair because same effort needed to receive a N1000 tax is needed for a N100,000 tax.

What does any of this mean? We are talking about the incentives to collect taxes! That's what Lagos State hired AlphaBeta to do! It's obvious that they do an excellent job of it, and the reason they do is because Lagos has given them the right incentives to carry out the job with zeal.

You seem like the sort of short-sighted person who thinks it's more "proper" to pay an employee a flat N50k and see that employee bring in N250k over that time period, rather than pay 10% to the same employee to go hustle and pull in N15 million, so fixated are you on the extra N1.45 million you'll "lose" that you give up N13.25 million instead. Thank goodness the leaders of Lagos haven't suffered from your kind of myopic pettiness.
from consultant to employee. Weldone o.
You don't motivate consultants that way. They are professionals and suppose to deliver irrespective the amount involved per transaction. What you are arguing is like Telecom billing users by importance of calls or messages and not on volume.

This comment only shows that you have no understanding of how incentives work. If AlphaBeta (or any other such consultancy) were being paid a flat rate, what incentive would they have to do more than the bare minimum required to earn that rate? Why do you think salesmen are paid on a commission basis?
incentive in saner places are for the ones paying the tax and not a mere consultant managing tax collection.

You're right. It can be negotiated better.
You see my point. This structure will likely lead to laxity in tax collection from the poor. That's part of what is fueling agberoism. The men in Suits and Agbada go after the huge taxes and leave the thugs to collect the smaller taxes from the low income folks.

It all depends on agreements.
agreements aren't aren't always fair to the state govt as there is a real possibility of collusion, sabotage or outright conspiracy by representatives of the govt structure to milk the people. The fairness of that agreement is what I raised a question on.

OP would prefer the situation in states like Anambra, Oyo, Bayelsa where thugs are the ones collecting revenue on behalf of the government.
Use your brain if you have one and it is working.

Collecting a percentage of tax irrespective of effort it took to receive it is unfair.
It doesn't take more effort to receive a N100m tax than a N1m tax.

Why does REMITA and banks charge you for payment?
to cover running cost and make profit. Your JSS3 Busuness Studies or SS1 Economics class should have taught you that.

What I am after is collecting a fixed percentage as against a flat rate.

Stop talking rubbish, 10% is not bad, it's more about their contribution. Before alpha beta came into the picture, the state was making only 500million yearly from taxes, Alpha beta brought efficiency and blocked leakages, companies and cooperations run societies, influential people get contracts, the most important thing is that alpha beta is doing a good job. Please advise your barren state, I think Lagos is doing way better. You clowns should focus and advice your states. Check IGR of states in Nigeria, Lagos is not your business.
Contribution you say. Same form and document and bandwidth used to process N10m tax is used to process a N1000 tax. If profit is made on the lower amount that means a disproportionate profit(corruption) is being made on the larger amount.

The police especially, it is not only when people die in houses that they should investigate because they can arrest neighbours and collect bail money. They should take up the case of this man also.

Find simple businesses 500k can manage to do then scale up times four to increase your profit.

Businesses like food, business centres, gaming centres, laundry, retail.

My two cents.

There is no way these claims can be true. Oil is still our major earner. If oil doesn't flow for two weeks, Buhari will cry about ND militants disrupting crude sale for a whole year.

Femi is just a shameless spinner paid to suppress his conscience.
