hopefulLandlord:
It depends. It's simplistic to just use the words "asset" and "Liability". you have to apply nuance. for instance there are people who after fueling, putting engine oil, servicing and repairing their cars they still make money from the car than they would've without it. while there are people who buy lands and they depreciate due to several factors like environmental disaster, insecurity, famine, war etc. also Omo onile issue can make your land another's in an instant
famine, war, disasters affect other assets like cars far more than land. That leaves us with Bishop's advice

b4ball:
An alarmist thread!
The first question should be; how many mega infrastructure did the colonial UK, France and US build in Africa for free? Not the ones built with our own resources during colonial era.

USAID, UKAID, are good for Africa, Chinese gifts are not to be trusted? Western credits with conditions such as LGBT+ rights and exclusive rights to dictate our foreign policies are okay, but Chinese loans repayable over 2-5 decades on modest interests are bad!!

The typical African does not pay his debts, no matter the good will given. China should just walk away from debts owed to it that are legitimate and time bound?

True, no foreign power gives gifts without a motive, China inclusive, but China’s motive is clear for all to see, pure business. China does not care about your foreign policy, it does not care about your religion, it does not care about your way of life. It’s not it’s business who you sleep with. It simply wants business and more business. Reason for the belt and silk project.

The alarmists blowing unfounded claims about Chinese spying should be reminded that the only country ever proven to have spied on legitimate governments all over the world including its own allies is the US. Edward Snowden revelations!
How many mega structure did colonial masters owe your lazy entitled āss?
You will soon know the difference between tomato and pepper.

Billionaires like Bill Gates are predicting a coming food crisis and preparing by building survival bunkers

( Natural news)
I think they got the prediction right but I cannot understand the survival bunkers. Is it to shield the poor from disturbing them or to privately grow foods?

The young lad has jilted the mom after she spent the youthful part of her to raise him. If he relocates and put up that same attitude that made him dump the mother the first time, the mother may never recover from the second episode with that boy. He should manage his father as if the father raised him from day one since he choose him over the his own mother.
The way I am sensing it, that boy is growing up with the free bird mentality and may end up joining street gangs in UK or even harming the mum in UK.

Haha, yorubas are economic illterates and lack native intelligence. Let them go and read the book "confession of an economic Hitman". Yorubaland is under invasion by capitalists imperialist and the result will be capital flight that leaves the masses poorer. Their IGR hungry governor will not support local SMEs to grow but rather sign off their land to multinationals
The steel plants in Delta and Kogi, the refineries in Kaduna, PH and Warri, how are they doing?

And most importantly, why is govt always achieving project completion around election time?

Good projects are good but not inflated and corruption infested ventures meant to cement the status of those in power as key national assets co-owners.
Politics › Re: First Railways Assembly Plant In Nigeria Near Commissioning In Kajola, Ogun by CodeTemplar: 12:10pm On Feb 11, 2023
How is refinery going?

I know better than to rush and applaud these kind of achievement. The chances of the project being grounded and comatose in the future is always very high due to recurrent leakages built into profit of the venture.

Lol. . . those of us who know Buhari as a deep rooted pro northerner can never be surprised.
He is skillfully betraying his own party member who helped him when same northerners couldn't help him ascend to power. That's hausa Fulani romance summary in a nutshell. The bad performance of the party is now associated with the party and not the main man any longer.

The increasingly biting cash scarcity in the country will ensure that monetary incentives to voters would be even more valuable than they would have been in normal times because people are desperate and writhing in unspeakable existential torment.
This is the true effect of the naira redesign. It has made the new notes more valuable and cherished by the masses and is back in the hands of those the govt is looking to deny raw cash. It has made the vote buying process sweeter and far more effective for the buyers and seller are more willing to sell. In fact hitherto indifferent folks, are very ready to sell their votes too. It has defeated its intended purpose more than 100%.

Lol... After atiku bought his primaries with dollar and Tinubu 'bullioned' his way through his own party primaries, poor crook Obi too mobilized his pained army of tribal and ethnic warlords into LP.

This is staged democracy and not real democracy.
Celebrities › Re: Access Bank CEO, Herbert Wigwe Is Building A University In Rivers. See Pictures by CodeTemplar: 9:16am On Feb 11, 2023
Banks only borrow your money without you consent but don't steal it. They charge you for keeping your money then add what they get from the charges to what you kept and quickly loan it out to someone else at a higher interest rate. This loan interest rate has to be higher and cater for expenses like salaries and materials.

Politics › Re: Old Naira Notes Now USELESS by CodeTemplar: 5:56pm On Feb 10, 2023
Validated:
Yes, you heard right old Naira notes are useless. The council of state meetings and Supreme court interlocutory injunction are useless reason being sellers have started rejecting it. So, what is the sense in accepting what you cannot use?

Vote buying is already in serious jeopardy.
vote buyers can easily offer N1 billion to access the 800 or 850 million in a couple of bank vaults, can we say same of a common man? I still don't kno w the intended aim of the currency swap.
Politics › Re: Why Is Life So Struggled In Nigeria? by CodeTemplar: 5:54pm On Feb 10, 2023
Givemehope:
I mean Nigerians really deserve special pity because everyday, they go through a lot in all they do.

To register for voters card -struggle
To collect voter's card - struggle
To register for NIN - struggle
To collect NIN - struggle
To vote during election - struggle
To register for WAEC/NECO/JAMB - struggle
To write any exams in the country - struggle
To check your result in any of the exams - struggle
To enter public transportation - struggle
To come down from public transportation - struggle
To open bank account - struggle
To deposit money - struggle
To withdraw money - struggle
To purchase employment form - struggle
To get interviewed - struggle
To register for any programme - struggle
To buy petrol/kerosine/gas - struggle

The struggle to get things done no matter how ordinary it is in Nigeria is just endless. Too much struggle. Very hard before a Nigerian gets anything done without struggling and fighting for it.

Some students were reported to have fainted in UNICAL due to the same struggle.

People struggle in banks, faint and die

Same in petrol stations

I'm tired. May God help us.
In Genesis money faileth due to scarcity of things. Under Buhari, money humbelth herself.

It is Lagos the idiot want to die for? Coveting a better planned city but leaving his own cities to gunmen and addicts.
