Christianity Etc › Re: Why I Feel The Winners Chapel Sack Letter Is Not About Tithes And Offering by CodeTemplar: 11:53am On Jul 20, 2021 |
jesusjnr2020: The Truth is that this exposes and also confirms the real motive behind the drive of the church to create branches. It has nothing to do with the expansion of God's Kingdom but that of men.
As much as we'd rather want to sugarcoat this and lie to ourselves, it's a glaring case of misplaced priorities.
The same church that is erecting structures that cost billions upon billions, yet it can't find money to pay those they employed to pastor their church branches, which are yet able to run itself. If the same person in question now starts preaches the nonsense that people want to hear, and it leads to the rise in membership of the branch and consequently the finances of the church, they would retain him regardless and wouldn't have excuses not to collect the extra from the church. Now it's the flip side and they're trying to use grammer to confuse themselves not those who know the Truth.
This is the reason why many now are no longer preaching the Words of the Spirit but the words of the flesh, because that's what men want to hear.
They'd also sack Jesus because He would preach the Words of the Spirit regardless, even if it makes Him not to meet the church's so-called growth-index, but wisdom is justified of her children.
God bless. Stop capping off your junk assumptions with "God Bless". Gods want all men saved. That calls for souls to be won. God also commanded tithes. Concluding that more money that would naturally come out of the perfect combination of more souls and tithes/seeds is the pastor's target is tantamount to rebelling against God through the pastor's obedience of God's commands. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Let’s Talk!! Is Bishop David Oyedepo A Real Man Of God Or A Businessman? by CodeTemplar: 8:14pm On Jul 19, 2021 |
The confusion about some top preachers and their ministries stems from a bad understanding of money and the money system.
Money is created by man to facilitate exchange of goods and services. Money is given value by products in their useful life. The church of God is not one without material needs. To meet these needs money is needed to get what's needed. It is unwise for every worshipper to come to church with their products or services. Perishables and intangible goods will be a nightmare for the church to.manage before exchanging for needs. This leads us to the stage where the church accepts money to meet needs. Also, there are full-time ministers who depend on church income wholly and part-time ministers who do partially. Running a church or ministry is a tasking job with lots of material needs. |

richmond500: exactly, pastor Isaac folaji The pastor Isaac Folaji I know preaches the prophet's offering but will never shy away from telling dissenters to keep their seed(tithes inclusive). So I think you are twisting his words out of context. Even the way Winners is structured doesn't give room for mentioning tithes and seeds and every sermon. Winners Chapel works with monthly prophetic themes and the focus changes from praise to godliness to faith to healing or health and many others I can't begin to list. Finance is jusbone of them and doesn't come so often. Stop blowing things out of proportion. |

The vagueness of the FG statement only goes to cement what Kukah has been pointing out. One religion has been adopted as state religion above the other. Some persons constantly take over roads for prayer whereas others where massacred for same road blockade in Lekki and Kaduna. One religion now uses public money not available for key and pressing public infrastructure to sponsor their own religious festivities. Religious police on one religion can now arrest even those public police cannot arrest. The army is now religiously inclined and now respects the right of one religion to compromise the territorial integrity of the "country". Some people burnt buses and were asked to trek. Others burnt schools and killed students and even teachers(corpsers) but haven't been asked to study on their own, instead they are about to get rewarded for it with a development commission.
The list of persecution is virtually endless. |

Winners must not mention money in that letter. Be fair, man. Analogy was used all through the Bible. When Jesus asked Peter to feed His sheep's, was Jesus a Fulani herdman? |

It's obvious you are very young that's why you believe that Redeemed was a mega church with millions of followers under Pa Akindayomi.
It wasn't.
It grew well under Adeboye but it wasn't till Pastor Tony Rapu and Pastor Tunde Bakare came on board and changed the structure that Redeemed exploded. They had schools and the former GO family didn't inherit or control it. That's my point. |

donlet: Just wondering how much is required for one to have a good life in Nigeria.
Why most of our youths are migrating abroad is because of the unfair advantage of being paid more even doing odd jobs abroad.
So how much can one earn in Nigeria as a salary to be comfortable?
Also I know this might be location dependent.
As people living in lagos, porthacourt and Abuja might have more living expenses.
Also what are other ways to earn if the salaries of available jobs are not enough?
Let's share ideas Must we go abroad to manage? |

Officialgarri: This is no time to talk about the shortcomings or rather, incompetency of the Ministry of Labour.
I glanced through the recent version of Nigeria Labour law —Labour Act 2004, and I can agree it's a shallow draft that didn't know of its importance.
If I were to be bias, I would compare the Labour Act 2004 to the "Animal farm" laws that was tweaked to suit the farm leaders —Napoleon and the other pigs.
Without much ado, to avoid Under payment, I'm of the opinion that Employee's wages (instead being set by capitalist employers) — should be determined by the company's annual income and the Nigerian Labour body should follow up strictly on its compliance. It is however left to the Employer's discretion to raise the wages higher than the set minimum wage. Will you be willing to take a part of the end of year profit if it reads a negative value? |
