Rossnitti:
You are talking RUBBISH.

The white man did not build ONE power plant in Nigeria (Our first was Kainji Dam, commissioned in 1964). Not ONE university. Not ONE expressway. No major industry, and zero manufacturing, despite a century of rule and evacuation of natural resources.

Today, under half a century of black leadership, we count these facilities in the HUNDREDS and even THOUSANDS.

So Nigeria has been on a definite RISE sinceà independence despite the teething nation's shortcomings.
Wasn't UI in existence as of 1952?
Politics › Re: Obasanjo And Buhari: Which Was A Better President by CodeTemplar:
The difference is clear now even though both of them employed highhanded tactics in dealing with insecurity.
The economy wasn't a borrowing one under OBJ plus things were better under him. He didn't strengthen an unreformed military for a reason clearly. He was the real anti-corruption man considering establishment and targets of EFCC under him. Corrupt southerners and Christians went to jail as a result of moves efcc initiated unlike corrupt muslims northerners cruising with DSS as escort.
The list is long. He attempted to build refineries unlike the one building rails on loan to Niger republic. Even though OBJ met the shock and harsh realities of a sudden fourth republic democracy, the judiciary and other aspect of democracy where doing fine.

How on earth did they measure this staged repentance? I once asked in religious section if "planned repentance is a valid and true one". It cannot be.
Politics › Re: Kidnapping And Ransom Payments In Nigeria - CFR by CodeTemplar: 5:29pm On Feb 18, 2021
A govt that pampers criminals and claims to have guaged their level of repentance isn't a serious one. They are quick to copy foreign laws and policies where it favours them but cannot adopt a no-ransom policy from USA

This is part of the benefits of one Nigeria. They have no oil installations to attack and so choose communities among themselves to drive home the amnesty point subtly.

Travel › Re: Is It Only Those That Did Science Related Courses That Get Jobs Abroad? by CodeTemplar: 10:55am On Feb 18, 2021
Gerrard59:
Art courses are largely country dependent. Nigeria's Law degree is useless outside the country but not for medicine or engineering. Also, in jobs' availability, even their citizens face low prospects and salaries. Check the lamentations by PhD grads in history, philosophy, political science etc. Now, compare to science based courses and you will see the difference. Someone with a PhD in Computer Science from Princeton will quickly get a job anywhere in the world over his counterpart with a PhD in history from the same institution.

It's what it's.
Food production mechanization, transport, communications and internet, construction, roads, cars, healthcare, household items production are all science driven. Any society that wants to get ahead mustn't play with those. That's why the developed nations prioritize them.

The guy is right. Most of the things people kill themselves for(fundamental things of life) are science inclined. Food production mechanization, transport, communications and internet, construction, roads, cars, healthcare, household items production are all science driven.

Bodyodour:
Why is it only science related courses that is mostly discussed on nairaland travel section ? Is it that art courses are useless? We art graduates also want to travel abroad too. You guys should try and discuss art courses lucrative abroad, please. Not every time engineering, medicine and IT.

Art is very underated here embarassed

Abroad dey hungry us too.
most human needs(not wants) are science or technologically inclined. Talk about healthcare, transport, communication systems, manufacture of goods, agriculture, construction and other fundamental aspect of the society, science drives them and serious nations don't play with the supply of scientist to drive the growth and maintenance of those things.
It is only here in Africa we see the largest departments in schools being law, accounting, mass comm, or intl relations.
Islamic studies also.

Myself2:
Is he the keeper of millions of Nigerians ??

But it sounds a bit distasteful for a pastor to be sounding off on camera that he has three private jets, that he bought the latest in a pandemic so much so he was praying for it not to end
Thank you. I have come to realize people don't try to know what God says about situations. The Bible is treated like a constitution that 99.9% of citizens don't get to read but need an interpreter in form of a lawyer to read and apply on their behalf in court.
The bible clearly stresses that God will meet our needs and not wants. The word "need" is closely accompanied by purpose. What's the purpose of three jets in the hand of a pastor or ministry with few travel needs. A church with branches in over 50 nations can't compare to another that's in one nation. What I see here is a derailing pastor who cannot draw a line between needs and want.

You should spot some of your flimsy excuses there also.
Follower of who? Me I don't follow jet stacking apostles. I accept genuine apostles and not the mammon ones like you.
Christianity Etc › Re: Apostle Johnson Suleman: In COVID I Bought My Third Private Jet (Video) by CodeTemplar: 6:01pm On Feb 17, 2021
jesusjnr2020:
That's my apostle!

The church is marching on and the gates of hell cannot prevail.

After all Jesus had a treasurer...

The donkey Jesus used to enter into Jerusalem is the equivalent of a rolls royce...

A very expensive ointment was poured upon Jesus...

The garments of Jesus were divided by lots cast by soldier to show how expensive it was...

Jesus was buried by a rich man...

So my apostle is right on point and being Christlike.

Don't get this twisted though, this is not me... I'm just trying to reason like the blind followers who would defend such leaders at all cost even if it's beyond obvious that they've clearly erred.

If this man is truly an apostle, it means the standard of apostles has significantly dropped from what it used to be in the Bible days.

God help us.
Who is now the mammon worship and pharisee ?

Yes, but to illustrate a valid point about local car production being of lesser impact economically. Something I still insist is what this thread is all about.
