Society For Nigerian Women To Hold Demonstration If Mercy Johnson Proceeds With Wedding

A women's group, Society for Nigerian Women, have written to Christ Embassy that if the Church goes ahead with the wedding despite all the evidences and petitions of Lovely against the wedding that they would mobilize Nigerian Women to demonstrate and disrupt the wedding proceedings.

The letter addressed directly to Pastor Chris Oyakilome dated August 15th and  signed by Mrs. Chinyere Okonkwo President of the group indicated that after the meeting of the group on August 13th, they’ve decided to react to publications that were reporting that Pastor Chris lead church has finally agreed to go ahead with the wedding, it described the decisions as wicked and highly immoral that a man will leave his legally married wife and go ahead to marry another woman and a respectable church were ready to join them together.

The letter begged Pastor Chris to rescind the decisions in the interest of the innocent children that Odi had abandoned or risk 5,000 women demonstrating in front of the Church on the day of the wedding.

Obansanjo (civilian) ruled for 8 years and totally eclipsed IBB's achievements in 8 years. IBB's excuse? Oil earned more during OBJ civilian rule than it did during mine. OK now,

Let us now compare the Government that has been in place since OBJ left in 2007 since oil prices within the two periods are similar.

2007-2011 - very little achievements compared to OBJ's 8 years.

OBJ clearly beats IBB in all good ramifications. No excuses.

Mr Olawelebab,I see you complaining about 'error correcting posters',don't you think an exceptional (ok exceptional might be stretching it but good) command of the English language should be a prerequisite of every Nigerian graduate? The diction,grammar & spelling blunders of Nigerian graduates leave much to be desired,it's even more appalling to hear the much touted phrase; 'English is not our language'.Most disheartening I must add.

If we had more vocational schools the desperation for white collar jobs would be reduced to the barest minimum & we wouldn't have too many people whining about lack of jobs on NL. Right now there are too many 'graduates' (if we can call them that) chasing too few jobs. But Nigerians being what they are,egocentric & all that,very few parents would want to send their wards to vocational secondary schools because they'll consider it 'low class' for the less privileged,therein lies the problem.

Was that necessary?& what is the recent update?FYI,the most up to date info coming from the IPCC is that the gun wasn't even a replica conversion but was capable of firing live rounds

The finding comes as the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) prepares to release further information about his death.
It is understood that investigators have been told that Duggan did not open fire on police before he was shot dead, but that he had drawn a weapon.
Duggan was killed on Thursday night during a police operation in north London. Today a post mortem found he died of a single gunshot wound to the chest.
He was shot dead by a Scotland Yard firearms officer. Initially it was said that he died following an exchange of fire with officers.
This theory was given credence by the fact that a non-police handgun was discovered at the scene and because a bullet was found lodged in a police officer’s radio.


However, IPCC investigators have spoken to the officers involved in the operation and have received forensic test results on the bullet which hit the police officer.
They have established that the bullet was a police-issue round which went through Duggan’s arm and lodged in another officer’s radio.
Duggan’s firearm, a blank-firing weapon which has been converted, was not fired at the police. However it is believed that he did draw the gun.
The IPCC is still awaiting tests results to discover definitively whether or not the weapon was fired.
Firearms officers are authorised to open fire on suspects if they believe there is an imminent threat to life, even if the suspect has not fired his weapon.
The riots in Tottenham on Saturday started after a vigil for Duggan was held at the local police station. Since then it has spread to all corners of London.
Senior police officers have said that while Saturday’s violence was triggered by community grievance in Tottenham, where Duggan lived. But subsequent riots have been described as “pure criminality”.

I think reports of his death have been greatly exaggerated
