Tellmeastory: Nigerian Defence Industry Manufacturers Display Products In World Exhibition in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Nigeria’s defence industry has made a remarkable presence at the World Defence Show 2024, a global event that showcases the latest innovations and technologies in the defence sector. The show, which is being held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from February 4 to 8, 2024, has attracted over 1,000 exhibitors and 80,000 visitors from around the world.
Among the exhibitors are two Nigerian defence companies: Proforce Defence and the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON). Both companies have displayed their products and capabilities in the fields of land, naval, and air security, as well as engaged in networking and business opportunities with potential partners and clients.
Proforce Defence, Nigeria’s leading indigenous defence company, has showcased its range of products, including drones and armoured vehicles. The company posted on its social media channels that “Proforce will be showcasing cutting-edge solutions in Land, Naval and Air security at the World Defence Show in Riyadh from February 4-7. Visit our booth, Hall 1 south-G3.3 to learn more about how we’re advancing security solutions around the world.”

Some of the products that Proforce has exhibited are the Ara 2 MRAP, a mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicle that can withstand blasts and ballistic threats; the PF-2 Armoured Personnel Carrier, a versatile and modular vehicle that can transport troops and equipment in various terrains; and some of its drones, such as a fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle that can perform reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition missions.
DICON, the state-owned defence company that manufactures small arms, bullet proof vests, light weapons, and the Ezugwu MRAP, has also visited the World Defence Show, but it is not certain if they have exhibited their products. DICON is responsible for producing and supplying weapons and ammunition to the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies.
The Nigerian government delegation to the World Defence Show comprises the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Dr Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, Director-General of DICON, Major-General Effiong Edet, and other critical stakeholders of the Nigerian Armed Forces and exhibitors from the shores of Nigeria.

A statement by the Ministry of Defence said, “While going round the exhibition stands, the Minister pointed out that the aim of the global exhibition was for participating countries’ Ministries of Defence to meet and share information and ideas on the latest defence systems.”
He said “major international defence companies like DICON and PROFORCE from Nigeria and others around the world are participating in the exhibition in addition to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Defence.”

You think these things can go on if the glass house had his house in order? You think a house void of corruption wouldn't see anything wrong with a coach on their employ inviting a player he has a stake in?
A federal high court today prevented the Kano anti corruption agency from investigating Gandollar the former governor of corruption charges. Going by your logic Gandollar is a saint since he's yet to be convicted of said crime even though we have a video of him stuffing dollars in his babariga. Siasia says hi. Yusuf too dey greet. The European that was assaulted couldn't sue him to court. Continue going round in circles. If FIFA. CAS, CAF the governing body didn't see anything wrong in it. grandstar: There are still some painful reforms to go, notably the full deregulation of both the petrol price and that of electricity.
It is sad that the government seems to be following the import substitution model that has got the country nowhere.
Also, there as yet to be a cut in the company tax to 15% or lower. This would boost not only local investments but foreign. Low corporate taxes have proven to be game changers wherever they've been applied. They've brought fast growth to Central European economies. It also encourages companies to enter the formal economy rather than continue working in the shadows.
Government also needs to roll out a plan to privatize all government owned seaports and international airports. If not privatize, at least commercialise
Henry Cardoso should hike up interest rates from. 22.75 to at least 26%. This should boost the exchange rate to around $1 -N1,250. Even without hiking the interest rate. Naira will still return to #1200/$. If you check the other WA currencies with Naira and it's Dollar value. Naira should be around #1200/$. 12cedi=1$=#1200 so I keep wondering why Naira to Dollar is 1600. I am not an economist tho. Just an Engineer & a business man. |

adonainana: I have said it again and again on this platform
DIVERSIFY THE ECONOMY
DIVERSIFY THE ECONOMY
CRUDE OIL IS A BLESSING A CURSE
THE CURSE IS MUCH MORE BRUTAL THAN THE BLESSING
I have said it here many many times on nairaland what Nigeria must do https://www.nairaland.com/7989133/naira-rebounds-banks-offload-excess/4#128260034
Convert all NYSC CAMPS into cash crops processing mega centres
Instead of corpers shouting corper wee wee up and down employ them to run these mega farms and produce Made in Nigeria cash crops
DO you know much land Nigeria has in the south
Till today I have never seen a crop in my life THAT CANNOT GROW IN NIGERIA.
Made in Nigeria bananas Made in Nigeria mangoes Made in Nigeria pineapples
Made in Nigeria cocoa
Even if it’s just one made in Nigeria something that is flooded European markets with
Then that’s all you need TO MAKE THE DOLLAR almost as strong as the naira .
The first paragraph just told you there was a time in Nigeria in 1980 where naira was stronger than dollar and that time Nigeria exported more than it imported and thus the favourable balance of trade even made it have 9 billion dollars extra
THIS IS NOT SOME ECONOMIC THEORY OR SOME TRIAL AND ERROR
DIVERSIFY THIS ECONOMY FOR GODS SAKE
LEAVE CRUDE OIL ALONE , humans eat and humans eat most crops , even cocoa that cannot be eaten directly It is needed for making chocolates coffee
THE NIGERIAN EXPORT SHOULD BE MERGED INTO NYSC , and nysc camps should be converted to these mega farms and tons and tons of crops should be processed to be shipped out
FG should go to European countries and lobby each country to buy even if it’s made in Nigeria bananas, that are being processed and prepared in advance from the NYSC camps .
Any embassy or country that doesn’t want these MADE IN NIGERIA products should be closed down
Any country that doesn’t mind buying Nigerian oil but when it comes to made in Nigeria products it’s reluctant is an enemy of Nigeria .
This is the only way NIGERIA CAN escape poverty
PLEASE IF ANYONE CAN READ THIS
PLS I BEG YOU IN THE NAME OF GOD I AM FROM THE FUTURE . NIGERIA BECAME WORSE THAN WHAT IT CURRENTLY IS RIGHT NOW
NIGERIA pls diversify this company all oil licenses of any oil company should be revoked and tax free concessions given to AGRICULTURAL companies
Nigeria please leave crude oil alone
Sunshine is free Rainfall is free Photosynthesis is free
These are the 3 things you need to grow any cash crop in the whole world and feed the whole world if you are serious with it
YOU CAN SELL ANYTHING TO EARN FOREX IN THE INTERNATIONAL MARKET , it’s not only refined oil you sell there
Please convert all Nysc camps into these mega farms and start churning out tons of materials to earn good money outside
NIGERIA PLS LEAVE CRUDE OIL ALONE
THE UK import bananas all the way from Panama and South Africa
Please which country is closer to the uk.
How big is Panama and how much land does South Africa that tescos stores in the uk import all the way down South Africa for bananas
Why can’t there be made in Nigeria bananas
Why this oil curse for Gods sake
How much green land do we have in the south of Nigeria that bananas fresh good ones can’t be planted to be exported in tons
Convert all nysc camps to farms now , double allawee to corpers that want to work leave the ones who don’t want to go and be looking for thier oil corporate jobs
After converting the nysc camps into mega farms Merge nysc and the Nigerian export council and EXPORT all your wahala and earn cool forex
Find a country and export good fresh foods to this country
No one can tell me this is impossible If elections materials can get to every nook and cranny of this country
You can’t tell me state sponsored Mega farms are impossible
ALL THE TRILLIONS SAVED FROM FUEL SUBSIDY. Invest it in agriculture and become a sole supplier of foreign countries different types of food
Tomatoes Peepers Cashews Bananas Carrots
Do you know how much crops you can grow for free and make FREE DOLLARS FOR free
Who told these guys oil is the only thing you can sell
Once again scroll back up and check the first paragraph soemthing used to happen to Nigeria before 1980
After 1980 it got carried away and chased something which is crude oil
And 50 years later Nigeria life has never remained the same
Please diversify this economy now
Besides carrots takes 3 months to grow Cucumbers etc
There are some crops that if Nigerian becomes a sole exporter to selected foreign countries growing them would be light work
Infact self nnpc should be forced to buy shares in this new mega farms
Leave oil alone Even Pomegranate wey I plant 4yrs ago don dey flower. I shock. Used to think it was a Mediterranean crop. |

Bannedlargedx2: Bro, I disagree on your analogy. To me, a world class player is a player that can play at the highest level and is extremely competent regardless of his consistency. For example,Ronaldinho prime was from 2002 until 2006 and he was world class during that period. Afterwards, he lost form and sadly went into oblivion. On current form, there are not many number 9 better than osimehn and he is presently capable of excelling at the highest level. Osimehn main roadblock has been his inability to perform at big games and once he sorts that roadblock, the sky is the limit. He is the type of player that will guarantee you goals against small teams while being quiet at semi, finals etc. furthermore, he is definitely a world class striker in 2024 Every goalscorer is as good as his team mates. I wonder how people expect a player in a team that played 80℅ of a match in their own half to just conjure goals. A striker can only score if he has opportunity of even shooting. If a striker is denied of that he will become anonymous. Carry halland and put in burnley. Play him against Man City. I want check something. |
