Caseless:Like someone said earlier, Rhor seemed more interested in not loosing than winning. But I think his fear was because Croatia were technically better than us, if we went full throttle we'd get picked off more easily. However, we need more pace against Iceland. I'd bring in ebuehi. He's fast and seems better at link up play. We need Musa to hopefully run behind players on the right and cross on the ground across the 6 yard box or cut back. Air crosses are a waste of time. Can't remember last time the eagles scores a headed goal. Probably since adepoju retired. And we need iheanacho to shoot loose balls from the edge of the box or cut backs. Igahlo isn't bad but mostly useful in the box. Lone striker ain't working for him. He needs better support. Don't know much about Simys game, but if igahlo ain't working then maybe Simy to partner iheanacho. Iwobi to the middle and we should have a better game against Iceland. |
nowpresence:You are the second person to say so. I didn't watch it to be honest! |
This is what it means to fight in a match. Not what Nigeria did against Croatia. |
Probably second best match yet after Portugal spain |
Okay, please help with cost of clearing a 2017 Toyota highlander xle with price of $30k. What value would customs place on it and what customs percentages apply in getting your cost of clearance. Based on my search I found that 35% duty applies, then another 35% excise duty, before 5%vat. I ask because there is conflicting info if I Google Nigeria customs calculation and I want to know the correct formulae before engaging someone so I am not boboed. |
That's what the front of a 2017 highlander looks like
|
First of this isn't a 2017 highlander. The 2017 highlander used a different front grille! Regardless of the 11/2016 sticker there. I know my cars. Also this doesn't look like an Xle. Based on some of the missing buttons to the left of the steering wheel, I'd say this is actually an LE. |
Hello. Can you explain how exactly custom duty is calculated? Sorry if you might have done so before, but the thread is massive. I ask because shouldn't it be based on the price of the car? Ask you seem to need is the model and year. Or does customs have its own standard price sheet per model year? |
Biglittlelois:Dude, that's common practice na!! Do you expect that profits from google offices all over the world dont go back to USA? Or microsoft, Toyota, Honda etc back to their respective countries ![]() |
Nothing to write home about. The house doesn't have much class. |
This shows that the malaise of the country goes beyond government. Nigerians are largely incompetent! This may sound harsh, but it's true. If a VC cannot provide the appropriate leadership in his university to drive the use of ICT, in spite of the massive use of technology in the world today, is that the governments fault. I always say it that Nigerians are good at administration, being told what to do. But we are very poor at being creative, inventive and visionary. Thats why our police are always the best at international peace keeping missions. Because oyinbo man who takes time to think, plan and strategise tells our policemen to jump and Nigerian police man will say "yes sah"! You can hardly get quality staff in Nigeria. They won't think or do anything. They act like they have no brain. If you don't say "Segun, take that file to ops managers office", Mr Segun who has been seeing the file all day will not use his brain to take it there. To be honest, this type of attitude is more prevalent in the public sector, but is also very common in private sector. Only well professional and performance driven organizations like banking, telecoms, oil and gas, conglomerates (like Unilever, Guinness, BAT) and professional services like KPMG etc are different. And guess what? These are almost all oyinbo parented companies. So back to my point. Nigerians are LARGELY incompetent!!! |
Why is this in the front page? |
Isn't bayelsa owing salaries.....!!! |
Glad to see that Nigerians can at least agree on kne thing.... that Obi and Onazi had a HORRIBLE game!! I suspect the issue of age cheating may have caught up with them. Maybe they are just too slow to play dynamic midfield. |
Shocking football from Nigeria!! Goodness gracious! |
Maybe we overrated the team based on the qualifiers, but this is the worst half of football I've seen from Nigeria in awhile. |
We need creativity in the middle and mid fielders who can join attack quickly |
Always never seen what Obi and onazi bring to our midfield. |
Nigeria is arguably the most incompetent country in the world! The amount of simple things we must can't get right is baffling |
Orpe7:That's where a solid vision can take you. Imagine if Nigeria leaders had that type of vision? In my view if Nigeria just has 20 years of corruption free, focused, determined leadership, we wouldn't know this country again by 2038. |
This just goes to show how totally incompetent the federal government of nigeria is, and why it shouldn't run or manage ANYTHING!! Oyedepo can manage CU efficiently, yet govt schools are in tatters. MTN, Glo, Airtel gave us 100mln lines in 17years,but nitel gave us 500k lines in 40+years. Private Estates are able to deliver 24 hrs light, but govt has kept us in darkness for ages. MM2 airport is still neat and well kept after about 10 years, but MMIA is a mess Eko Hospital is still a good hospital after 30+ years, but LUTH is a death trap. Diesel managed by private companies has not been scarce since it was privatized, but petrol continues to be scarce from time to time. You know what all these have in common though asides from the incompetence of government? Pay the appropriate price for something and you'll get good service. |
It sounded like a joke. |
We are a shallow people no doubt!! Iliteracy mixed with poverty is one of our biggest problems in this country. |
When El Rufai was sacking teachers who could barely read, shey you were all complaining. If we had good teachers all the while maybe the IGP would be better for it. ![]() |
Left to me, FG should privatize the rail lines and let one company manage the tracks and others run trail services. Sort of like an airport, where multiple airlines can operate, otherwise all the money we have spent to revamp the trail will go down the drain. Government in Nigeria has Zero capacity to manage a business. No matter how we complain about GSM services sometimes, has there been a day we couldn't make a call? MTN, Airtel, glo and 9 mobile have survived from inception of Gsm till now, but where is Mtel? Not quite sure how the concession with GE is supposed to work though. |
Kabaka100:There probably isn't any Nigerian company with the competence to participate in the project. We are good administrators in Nigeria, but not good creative thinkers and visionaries. |
Meanwhile sections of sagamu Ore Benin road remain unfinished with no work ongoing!! Why not at least FINISH something before moving to another road. |
That girl that said "thank you" in one of the videos, her thank you no strong at all o!! Sounded more like "I wish it was me ' |
I wonder why these people can't just go to the police on Italy. Instead of being in slavery? Or are they locked up 24 hours. |
But what I don't get is if Mrs Fayose is a deeper life member or pastor, how come she cannot influence her husband for good!? I really worry about the lack of influence of pastors in government on things. I guess being a pastor is not quite the same thing as having vision and competence to get things done. |
otuekong1:Oga, we in Nigeria tend to fight the symptom rather than the cause. You've just described what is closer to being the cause which is the poor minimum wage. It's better to have a reasonable minimum wage so that parents can afford to pay the more realistic fees as opposed to the subsidised fees that gives you useless quality of education. We keep fighting the wrong battles. Unfortunately private schools are giving much better quality and are pushing ahead. As it is a lot of companies will not even call state university graduate for job, and slowly they are calling federal universities graduates less and less, so what's the point of a cheap but useless education if no one will call you for an interview. If you are verse in economics, you'll know that subsidy just distorts so much in an economy. Nigeria has too much subsidy that nothing is effective. It may seem like a good thing that hostel rate in UI is N190 (or whatever it is) , but what level of maintenance can that pay for? That's why toilets, reading rooms and other facilities in the hostel are not even good enough for pigs. We get what we pay for. A better approach might be for fees to be the "real" rate, while some kind of student loan scheme caters for good students from poor backgrounds and they pay back after 10 years or so. While corruption and incompetence of even managing the little funds well is an issue no doubt, but Nigeria is simply not rich enough to subsidize so many things. I'd rather have good quality in 5 things than have poor quality in 100 things because they are subsidized. The issue is that no government is brave enough, competent enough or has enough moral upstanding to bell the cat. Every generation wants it to start with the next one and not their own, hence the difficult decision is never taken and the viscous cycle continues. A good example is the issue in Kaduna with the sacked teachers. It beat my imagination that there was a huge outcry against El Rufai. Even union of teachers went on strike on behalf of teachers that could barely read or write!! It just shows we aren't serious in the country. Both as leaders and the followers. |
lonikit:You are one of the lazy youth Buhari was talking about. Go abroad and see how your mates work while in college to pay school fees!! My nephew is still in high school in America and works 3 days a week in Mac Donald's for his own pocket money. If the ask you to work part time in the school car wash for extra income to augment the fees, you'll say no, but you want to do guy on campus, go to club parties, toast babes and pay nothing for school fees. No wonder most graduates are unemployable, cos they don't know what they went to do in school. |
