So how come planet projects are the only construction company in lagos |
Thesijames:Ok o! Anyway I salute whoever did the repair cos it looks pretty sharp. I'd love to see the engine compartment though. This is one of the cars on my list on my "change my car in Q1 2019" project. That's why i know a bit about these things. Plenty research!!! ![]() |
We are not very serious in this country. What value have all the other research institutes delivered in the past 30 years. At the end of the day all they will do is draw salaries and lobby to go abroad in the name of research and training so as to collect estacode and do little or no research. |
Cos play oya tell us how much this car was sold na. Let's see how right our wrong I am? |
Another thing exposing this does though is that it helps the public to negotiate better. There is no way this should be N20m. Probably in the N12m to N15m range. N20m divided by 360 is $55k. Its not likely this would have auctioned for more than $20k which is N7. 2m. Add $5k for repairs - N1. 8, shipping $1. 5k - N540k, customs duty N5mln max. Cost of this car would be in the N13mln range. And this is being generous. It could very well have auctioned for $15k if he was lucky. |
I totally agree. While there is nothing fundamentally wrong with people buying such cars, repairing and reselling provided they are certified road worthy and fully functional. The main issue is that Nigerian dealers will never tell you the former status off the car and will try to pass it off as unaccidented. |
That's a serious country!! Nigeria isn't serious at all!! Common 2nd Niger Bridge has been on the drawing board for 2 decades. Make no mistakes, with these types of politicians Nigeria has no long term future. |
Hi. How much would it cost to clear a 2017 Toyota camry xse via container. |
LaudableXX:That route is not high density for passenger traffic. Would you compare that with lagos Abuja or lagos onitsha?? It wouldn't sustain itself!! Except you want to introduce subsidy for train transport again? |
Ofodirinwa:The article says that the line is supposed to join up with the Abuja kaduna line, which itself will be extended to kano. Surely a lot of imports into the country makes their way up north to kano and environs. It would also mean agricultural exports from the North can come down to warri port for export via that line. I hope that helps? |
Ofodirinwa:The line was conceived for ajaokuta steel complex. If the government gets its economic policy right, this could still be a good way to decongest the lagos port and take development to warri and environs. If ajaokuta can come alive, all the better. But for passengers, its likely going to be a no no! |
Which passengers are going to riding on warri itakpe line?? I hope there is even viability for it as a commercial line. |
As good as it might be to abolish the senate, the truth is that the dude can't do that without amending the constitution!! |
900,000 only in 2 years!!! I thought it would be much more than that by now. |
Like they say "nothing is free!! Watch ya self with this internet!! |
Now that's someone the FG should give a national award to! instead of thieving past millitary rulers, governors and shady business men. He is much more of a hero to me than all of them put together. |
Why are the seats in that arrangement? Surely people are not expected to sit that way from Lagos to Ibadan!!?? And are people expected to stand!!?? I'm assuming that's a temporary coach, just to test the tracks. |
vioment:And 18 people liked this!!! Even if there is ZERO traffic, how much speed would you have to drive at to get from Lagos to PH in 3.5hours!! 200km/hr!? Come on!! Don't we THINK at all!? If we went to university, it's likely we would have done the course "logic" in 100L. Let's use some of it. |
ayodeji1:Something that puxxles me about Nigeria is why whenever we construct a road, the heavy duty equipment usually destroys the existing adjoining roads and nothing is done about these roads!! |
ednut1:Thank you o!! I cannot fathom why on earth that p[art has been left uncompleted up until now. Also the various islands to control the swerve of traffic off the main express could have either been neatly cemented/interlocked or grassed and flowered. |
How much for each? |
DoTheNeedful:And why should you expect h in m to ok invest in n this shithole? By the way he's probably no longer Nigerian, but an American of Nigerian decent. |
Arysexy:Don't be STUPID!! People have been doing that since the eighties that I can remember. |
For me the logo is not bad, but the rest of the planes livery is horrible!! Just a white upper part and then a green lower part. Really!!! And we paid for that dull unimaginative design!! |
PrecisionFx:I read the article again. i didn't see anywhere it was said that concrete roads are cheaper. The main argument for concrete roads is that they last much longer than asphalt/bitumen roads. How true this is I don't know, but let's assume that it is. Therefore is a bitumen road is N10bln and lasts 10 years and a concrete road is N16bln and lasts 30 years, in terms of longer term value, you could argue that the concrete road makes more sense. but it remains to be seen. This is where we need our academics to research these things and provide findings to the public, cement manufacturers and government. But our professors are busy reading out same notes for the past 10-15 years. Absolutely no research. |
Kudos for the metro line. However if the government is going to run it, then expect it to be non functional in 5 years. |
Ibukunmer:It is. |
I have 6 year old FhD TV and I also have a 4k TV I bought early 2017. The difference is very clear when I watch Netflix, Amazon video, dstv HD channel or you tube HD on both. I use smile for now and soon upgrading to Fibre Optic. |
Can Buhari not simply refuse the money for these projects under the guise of no money? At least asides the NASS main budget which is statutory transfer, the NASS cannot go dip it's hands into the CBN to get money for these projects. I suspect that's what Buhari meant when he said "these projects will be difficult to implement". Knowing the NASS though, I see them trying to lobby Buhari to drop money for these projects to the NASS directly. |
While they might deserve some kudos, laying rail tracks doesn't seem to be that complicated. From one of the pictures, it looks like they are laying it one length (about 15meters) at a time, because the track has been pre frabricated on the concrete support which goes across it. Kinda like doing interlocking roads, which is fairly quick to lay. Hope the project ends on schedule though and is well utilized though. If FG plans to manage the whole tracks and rail service itself, we have already failed!!! |
ajl:I agree with you. What made Nigerians to love Leon balogun and troost ekong was the way they put their bodies on the line during qualifiers. It had been along time we saw Nigerian players that commited |
