PoliticsRe: How I Spent 18 Months Working With Experts On My Plan — Atiku by COMPAQ(m): 5:13pm On Nov 20, 2018
And that was the best he could come up with?? At least APC is busy with governance. But as someone with 18months on his hands, the document should be better than that. I can write a better one.
PoliticsRe: Nine Varsities To Get Solar Plant, Says Fashola by COMPAQ(m): 10:22am On Nov 20, 2018
Why is it taking forever to do 12MW of solar power? They have been talking about this since 2016. Solar is relatively east to deploy 500MW solar can be set up in 18mknths if you are serious. Once the panels are in place, the set up is relatively quick.
PoliticsRe: APC Built Train Stations In Villages Of PDP Chieftains – Amaechi by COMPAQ(m): 12:46pm On Nov 19, 2018

“We lost an enormous opportunity when recently oil money rose to $114 dollar per barrel and stayed there for almost a decade and we have no new airport, refinery, bridges, petrochemical plants, no new seaports to show accountability to how all the money went,’’ Babatunde Fashola.
Interestingly I didn't realize that crude prices were high for about 5 years continuously. Not a decade, but 5 years at above $100 is good enough for this country. Bear in mind that $1bln of 10 years ago has the same value as maybe $1.2bln of today's money.

TravelRe: Lagos-Ibadan Railway: The Lagos Station Prototype And Its Location by COMPAQ(m): 10:54pm On Nov 12, 2018
Okoyeebo:
Lol

They should build a rail station in a certain location simply because people go there once a month?

The same you advocating for a station in Redemption camp is questioning a stop in Abeokuta a major city?

Let me not talk.
I'm not saying it shouldn't pass through abeokuta, but I think a spur to say Ijebu ode and on to Ore and Benin through redemption camp could be useful and commercially viable

Our manufacturing industry will grow when govt can use $5m ( N2 Billion ) to build a 15 MW power plant like Oyedepo is doing here.

Nigeria spent $16 Bn on power. That could have given us over 75,000 MW of power but see where we are today. Battling with 5,000 MW at exurbitant rate of N30-50/Kwh. That alone has killed manufacturing because your rivals in Asia get power supply for a fraction of that, sometimes as low as N6/KWh.
I rather doubt the N6 per kwh

Of course it is unfair....but that's the truth....they need to upgrade....we have so many so called graduates of civil engineers etc but they are way behind their foreign counterparts...
Way behind is an understatement!!! If you live Lekki you'll be familiar with the new bus stops on that axis. Some of them actually have the floor sloping forwards towards the road instead of backwards towards. This then causes water to pool by the edge of the road causing traffic as motorists on the right have to come inwards.

If that is what Nigerian engineers can come up with, then they shouldn't be anywhere near a multi billion dollar project such as this railway.

AutoReportNG, It'll be sited at Ebute-Metta (not Iddo) where the old railway station will be demolished for this one.
Apapa terminal will also have a mega station, while the remaining two mega train stations will be in Abeokuta and Ibadan.
Abeokuta ke? Is that the route of the main track? Or does it branch off to abeokuta? Seems unreasonable to want to catch an express train to lagos at 6am from ibadan to go through abeokuta.

However, if this train doesn't go through redemption camp I'll be thoroughly disappointed. It would help the situation during their monthly holy ghost nights immeasurably. Imagine the revenue on those days, even if its just once a month!! At least 300k to 500k people (guessing) go there from lagos every month. Not to mention those from ibadan environs and abeokuta environs.

We make too much noise about these things. If they are really serious, by the time undercover cops arrest people at about 20 high profile weddings, people will get the gist and stop.

Funny enough though, many big men have police escorts at these society weddings where they spray money, so.....!!!

Those who know know that the brain behind Nigeria's new (modern) airports was GEJ. His administration conceived, planned, and nearly completed the new airports before PMB's inept administration took over and slowed down the pace of the work.
Conceived yes, but nearly completed absolute No!! PH had barely started before Buhari took over. He could easily have frustrated it but he didn't. Buhari's government is largely incompetent, but let's give credit where its due. Lagos and Abuja were well under way, but at least have still progressed to almost completion under Buhari.

Afenifere are ipob according to Nairaland resident ZOMBIES.

Our question is this: If Obasanjo, Yaradua, Jonathan did not build any infrastructure as claimed by the lifeless nomad in Aso rock, then where did they see the assets they want to sell??.
Don't be brainless. Most of our assets are from way before PDP, because really PDP didn't build much, if any, infrastructure.

If you truly believe that Atiku is genuinely responsive and empathetic and that this has nothing to do with 2019 elections, then I seriously worry for you and it would really show the poor quality of Nigeria's education system.

Reminds me of when I was serving in Abia state when Orji Kalu was about to become governor and people were celebrating in Aba. I asked one chap why he was celebrating. His response was "Kalu go use im money repair our state"

The guy actually thought because the politician was rich, he'd use his personal money to fix Abia state!! And this guy went to school for all intents and purposes!!

I rest my case.

PoliticsRe: Fayemi Declares Free Education In Less Than 24 Hours In Office by COMPAQ(m): 5:39pm On Oct 17, 2018
Is there really a point to free but useless education?

As they say "awoof dey run belle". It sounds good now, but 10 years from now they'd wish they had gone to a private school, when they realise they know nothing and are uncompetitive in the labour market.

With Ekitis revenue and the amount needed for QUALITATIVE education, how it can be sustainably and qualitatively free remains to be seen.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria To Sell Ajaokuta Steel Company After Spending $80bn On A Moribund Steel by COMPAQ(m): 8:03pm On Oct 16, 2018
I seriously doubt the $80bln quoted in this article.

What I remember from previous articles ranged from $5bln to $8bln and nowhere near $80bln.Maybe na typo. But the should sell the damned thing to credible private investors though. Govt has no business in business.

PoliticsRe: Tell Nigerians What FG Used Borrowed N3tr For, Atiku Asks Buhari by COMPAQ(m): 8:05pm On Oct 10, 2018
Maybe better to vote the 3rd wing and vote Donald Duke. At least that way I voted according to my conscience. If every body did that, Donald Duke might not win, but at least he'll make a statement.
PoliticsRe: Tell Nigerians What FG Used Borrowed N3tr For, Atiku Asks Buhari by COMPAQ(m): 8:02pm On Oct 10, 2018
Very good questions by Atiku I must confess!! I supported Buhari in 2015,but it's clear he is absolutely clueless about why to do to take the country forward. He's absolutely clueless in economic policy, has no sensible economic ideology or blueprint and just doesn't feel the pulse of the people.

Having said that, I'm not very convinced Atiku is the better option. I'm sure he can't be worse than Buhari, but can he be better?

cutechioma1:
People keep saying we should look at the bigger picture but the truth of the matter is that things are really difficult and expensive now. You can't find a common #5 biscuit or sweet to buy and the so called #10 ones has been over measured squarely with ruler to make sure you will hate eating it again. Before 2015 golden penny spaghetti sold at #120 could be used as breakfast for my entire family but now the #220 same spaghetti can't even feed 3 of my children and its still called 500g. For those supporting this govt, I don't really know where you buy your stuff or are you blinded by hero worship to see that its not just about being a good leader but also a good manager. Yes the previous administration looted our funds but they were still able to manage our resources that the common was still able to put food on the table. Pls let's not be blinded by heroism and make a better choice that will feed our families.
The thing is though that neither of them managed anything! The increase in cost of living is due to higher exchange rate since we are an import dependent economy, which was caused by reduction in crude prices (and therefore reserves) which is not really in the governments control.

NLC is fcked, they don't even work for the money they want. Instead of asking for reduced fuel price which will bring down the cost of everything, they foolishly ask for salary increment which will lead to inflation and price increases
I don't get! How exactly is the government supposed to reduce petrol pricehuh By increasing the already huge amount we pay on subsidy??

when they protested against the increase in pump price, Nigerians sabotaged their effort because people were following APC propaganda, since Nigerians accepted the removal of subsidy, NLC can only ask for salary increment.
There is still subsidy in petrol mind you. Heavy one at that!
