If she was issued a US visa before and expired within 24months she can get interview waiver date this year. If it’s a normal visa interview date , she would be very lucky to get any date this year, the closest date now I think is in 2024.

My parents need to renew their visas and they have just a 3 months to miss the 2 years cut off to qualify for IW.

18 years is not an issue, the legal age of consent in Nigeria is 11 years lol. Minimum age for marriage is not stated anywhere in the constitution, safe for the childs right act which stipulates 18 years and it is still not nationally adopted by all the states.Better use your current and real situation, do not try to boost your chances by filling you have kids, it will come back to hunt you either ways.

Lol yes , everybody and their mama don turn to immigration lawyer. Unless one has a complicated case like deportation , one should try to file by yourself. All you need is basic reading and writing skills . Most of the information you need is on the USCIS website . I have seen too many people getting bleeped by attorneys and paying thousands of dollars for it.

Lol, it's so annoying. Simple USCIS forms with instructions on how to complete same, so many people would rather have one so called lawyer fill it for them. People would rather be sold false hope than do stuff themselves.

The problem is not with the attorneys but with the entire epileptic immigration system . "most similar" cases are not treated the same and unless you know how to sap the system the judiciary is just as screwed up as immigration

Nothing in this instance refer to immigration matters, after the bar exam many attorneys change or claim another area of specialization based on market demands or prevailing clients available. Example, right now in the USA because of the Trump factor most attorneys all claim to be immigration attorneys. Immigration law is very ambiguous and needs detailed understanding just like any other area of law.

You speak poorly of everything, purge yourself of this mindset.

You can not work and earn money on a visitors visa.No training or conference will last for a year, any money paid to you, accomodation paid for, food provided for you, or clothing as compensation for holding such bootcamp is termed as WORKING. You are just concerned about chances, when in actual fact you do not stand any if you don't apply for the appropriate visa first. There are half baked immigration attorney here in the USA, they just pass the state bar exam and know nothing about immigration matters.

It matters. VOs hardly give visas for community colleges. Go check the student visa thread. Some lenient VOs will even hint the applicant as per why not apply to a uni instead of a junior college.

That’s not to say people with community college admissions don’t get visas. But it’s 5-10 percent of them.

I still say it does not matter, most denial always come with the "I did nothing wrong" feedback here, they leave out a chunk of their error, gaffe just to paint a perfect picture.

Most People mess up in their application/ interview and they push it on the Community college being a factor.

Satistying any VO when applying for a student visa, is one the hardest hurdle to cross, since there's no blanket ban on applying to community colleges with detailed research and being prepared all round one can be among the alledged 5-10%.... It is akin to the popular "WAEC fail me" and "I pass WAEC".

I stepped out to meet a young friend i made while at the waiting corner, and she told me she was denied[b](which i was expecting to hear cos she applied to a community college and to add salt to injury, an associate degree[/b]) she broke down and i started baby sitting for few min and encouraged her to change to a university and go for a degree instead as that will put her on higher pesdestra. Went and oicked my phone, flagged down next taxi and went for my numerous appointment for the day which was why i booked my interview for Abuja instead of lagos where i reside.

Sorry about the denial, good you are taking it lightly and not stressing over it. About your young friend, her intention to study at a community college does not matter.What matters is being very clear and detailed about the intent, and satistying financial requirements as a student. People come here for 2-8 months music production courses, video directing, etc.

To those saying the states hit by hurricane Irma is a no go area, i just laugh and wonder how people reason. The biggest tourist attraction in Orlando(Disney world resort) Florida closed for just 2 days and they didnt even loose power. Ask yorself these questions, after the hurricane did international flight arrivals not resume? did any majrr even like conferences holding immediately after the conference get cancelled?.

America is open for business 24hrs, have a clear intent and meet the requirement your visa will surely be issued, you may even want to come see the level of flooding and the after effect, present it well and i tell you the visa will be issued. This is a capitalist country, hence they don't want any excess luggage. if you can finance coming to charge your phone and can show you will return after your phone fully charges, the VO will be more than happy to grant you visa.

All the tourist places in Florida are open for business, hotels are open, there is no current stay at home order or evacuation.

Chicago is the murder capital of the USA, still people get visas to visit there. Make your travel plans to suit a purpose, not because people say florida is now submerged under water like Atlantis.

My own bit : You can not earn 500,000 naira , then want to do wedding shopping in the USA, it's a big and expensive industry, wedding dresses don't come cheap here. Go to Dubai or better still sew it in Nigeria jare.

Gurus in the house, I need your advice, I just drove back home from the Us embassy with my sister and her husband after their appointment this morning. She's really upset. She just got denied a visa for a second time in 6 months. Her previous visa expired November last year, she filed for renewal via drop box around march this year. She spent 3months on her last visit in which she had a child. Her husband still has a valid visa but she and her first child's visa are expired. The agent who filed for the drop box renewal and this second appointment made an error on both occasions filling "1 month as the duration of her last visit when she birth her child" instead of 3months. Is that enough reason for her to be denied the second time or are there other reasons? The blue paper stated she couldn't demonstrate she had strong overseas ties. I stumbled upon this thread a few days ago. Your advise would be appreciated.

Overstaying is a big problem.. and i think it is very much implemented now. Also she stayed back and had a baby, it seems from stating 1 month she is trying to cover the fact she birthed on her supposed visit. she should come clean and state all facts as it is, she should try in her next application to explain the real details about her last visit.

Do not embark on that journey, it is of no value to your visa application. It will do more harm, and no good.

The lady in question has shown you from the get go she does not want Nigeria, i just hope she would allow you take your kid home when the need be. What is wrong with Nigeria? there are more gun deaths in one state here each year than the whole of Nigeria, any American that can live here should be able to visit even Syria.

I would suggest applying for fiancee visa, this affords you the opportunity to come over and live with her a while before marriage, you can walk away and return home if the whole arrangement does not please you. Her mother can act as a joint sponsor for your affidavit of support if she meets the minimum poverty requirement(how many dependents she claims on her federal tax returns).

All the best bro, but i would ask a grown woman with 4 kids why is she not working. Unless you are a big professional taking care of her and the kids alone no go easy o.

Hello everyone, I'm asking this question on behalf of my younger brother in yankee. He got a 2 years US visa in April this year, then travelled in middle of May, on his arrival at the POE, he was told he can only stay in the US until 1st of June 2017 (2wks stay). But, today is 8th of July and he's still in the US. But he plans on leaving by next month to come back to Nigeria. So, we're just scared of what might happen if he wants to return probably by next year. Will it be possible for him to also apply for a visa for his wife & kids? We need advice's please. What's his fate on coming back next year? What will happen to the current 2 years visa?

First thing he has to do is check the validity of his I-94 on the CBP website. If he was granted 2 weeks then there is a big problem, but if he was granted the normal 6 months stay, then advised not to stay longer than 2 weeks there is a problem but lighter.
He has all these plans for his wife snd kids, yet he could not stick with the original days granted and return home.

You're still VERY wrong. The documents required to open a bank account is your Primary, Secondary IDs and Address. Your visa is not checked. Even the Police has no business with immigration matters.

Yes many live well doing under the table jobs, when the money is sent home and converted its big, but what standard of living do they have here? i have many that share 1 bed apartment with someone else and they sleep on the couch at night, the apartment will be in a run down neigbourhood with sketchy neigbours. Also i know people who live in shared apartments or their personal apartment in good neigbourhoods and doing okay because they sleep less than 4 hours a day lol.

I am not one to tell people do not come, because i will be a hypocrite if i say that, as i got here on a visit visa and adjusted my status within the ambit of the law as permitted( USCIS jurisdiction, not nairaland judges o). It is just appropriate to educate people to do lots of research before embarking on such venture as there are no friends or relatives here, most will leave you in your darkest moments.

People emigrate for so many reasons not just for economic reason, so we can not know it all, we know what we know... but i do know this, there is no golden fleece here , but with hard work and proper funds managemnent you will live the American dream.

I have a question, a very good friend of mine got B1/B2 visa for his family and they had earlier planned to go for vacation together but now the wife fell sick, she wont be able to make the trip and my friend too doesnt have much time as he managed to secure this very 2 weeks leave, not sure of getting another leave. He now wants to find out if he can travel alone and return home two weeks after?
Hope he wont be returned at POE if he doesn't enter with his family?

Most of us did and still do the car business by the side, go to any auction it is always filled with 50% Nigerians, i still buy cars for people or give my login to be used and take the fee for using it. I know you can bid from anywhwhere and anytime, but the allure of being on ground and seeing cars is real. You can buy from your toilet seat or while making love, but do not mention going to the auction next time simple.

The amount is not too small in any way for tourism,how many Americans have 10k in their accts? or how many have even visited the next state closest to them?. Always keep the answer to some 2 edged questions short and simple. Well i dont know if they have slots or not, but i sure know that at 25 you are "An Adult", you should have ties independently and will not be evaluated on your dads ties. It is better your apply alone, this way the interview will be on you, you can have all the interview time to convince a Vo.

NO, after the first interview which was approved was placed on AP,after the second interview i later got a mail that visa was refused based on 214b.

Did you by any chance use an agent in filling the form? did you "package" your application to improve chances?
Now for this current application if you are sure about not misrepresenting in the last application, use a hotel and come enjoy your vacation without being tied nor judged on another persons activities here.
