SELFWORTH: You mean, you think broken homes and abusive homes are one and the same? What is your IQ again? grin
my iq is 5 multiplied by the age of your mother, you homoerotic bastard!!! what's the difference between a broken marriage and an abusive one? they are all dysfunctional!
Family › Re: Marrying A Girl From A Broken Home...does It Really Matter? by coogar: 11:59pm On Nov 10, 2012
tpia1: the question shows low IQ

1. someone with a normal IQ wont be asking anonymous strangers on the web, something that will affect him personally in this manner. Shows he has no social life or value system. Or sense for that matter.
it's called seeking a second opinion.....

2. somebody with a normal IQ will simply waka pass any girl he cant date/marry, without making an a.s.s out of himself by trying to make her look bad. You dont have to slander someone just because you cant date them- that shows low level reasoning and gutter mentality. The person you slander today might not be in the same situation tomorrow.
there's no simplicity in waka-passing.....obviously, the op had fallen in love before he realised the babe came from a broken marriage!

3. As someone rightly pointed out, its laughable the way you gutter mouth nlers all claim to be from perfect homes? Was that where you learnt to act jungle and uncouth?
just asking.
uhhnnnn??

4. OP and his supporters have serious self esteem issues which they try to cover by pointing fingers at other people.
come on - gimme a break...
what has self esteem issues got to do with this?

So stop giving bad advice .. #getsense
this is where you get it wrong....
femi kuti's music is pure afrobeats - d'banj is afro-hiphop! the concept is to fuse african sound with pure american hip-hop.......d'banj sought after the big people in the game and joined kanye..........the entire project is no longer his, he must tune to what his record label wants otherwise why did he join them in the first place......you mgbeke nigerians need to go out more and understand what it takes to make music and sell to a global audience!

debosky: Frustrating Arsenal at its best - maddening individual errors continue to cost us. I think Wenger has to introduce a fine for every one of these stoopid errors - £10k off your paycheck if you make one!!

Once again, Theo needs to learn what works - when he calmed down and didn't try to shoot for goal, he created very good chances for Giroud. When he went selfishly, nothing came out of it. He needs to know when to shoot and when to pass.

Arteta had a shocker - poor till we conceded the third goal. When time came for redemption he failed to convert his spot kick. Koscielny was abysmal in the first half, only recovering some drive after the third goal.

The only bright spots were the front three - scoring 3 at home should be enough to win a game against Fulham.

Terrible, terrible performance, but then again not surprising considering the downward spiral this club is on. Up next Tottenham - if they mess up next week then expect a full scale revolt to begin.
we have been saying that about theo since 2006 - he has no football sense!

the 2nd goal we conceded was so annoying - rafael was overloaded by ireland and agbolahan....where was valencia to help him out?

rooney's first touch needs prayers - he cannot pass, his vision is blocked! valencia's left foot is as useless as anything.....he refused to run at his marker in the 2nd half and 80% of his attempted crosses were blocked. scholes kept giving the ball away as well! smalling got body-bagged for the first goal - what was he thinking? he should have fouled benteke and get his yellow card....

inferiority complex? you must be having a laugh....

So Bob Marley is who 100X a bigger star than him, did he say "My music has reached beyond the shores of Jamaica, i can't be too Jamaican"?
Has Jay-z, who is popular in Africa, Asia and Europe ever said "My music has reached beyond the shores of the US, i can't be too American"
d'banj's target audience has now shifted to uk/usa.........bob marley's target audience was uk/usa(this is why most of his songs were in english not patois)....jay-z's target audience is in the usa! it is not where you come from that matters but the audience you are trying to capture - d'banj's new boss would dictate exactly how they want him to sound to capture the exact market they want - but what do you know? mgbeke rat like you who is yet to amount to anything.....

That's the language of a fool. Oliver Twist still sounded like a song from Africa and it was a hit, wtf is this trash?
how's oliver twist different from this bachelor joint? it's the same concept, same cadence and same style and this is exactly why i am saying you have an agenda.....the only remarkable difference in d'banj's music was when he first started with his harmonica.....

Don't throw our musical legacy in the trash because you want to blow smoke in the hole of your ethnic 'brother' because if you died he won't come to your funeral so relax and be fair to yourself. This song is trash, this video is trash, and it represents the directlessness of our artists.
will he come to your own funeral if an asteroid collides with you? you are irrelevant to the statistics his music is trying to reach out to - you are just a hater who will not amount to anything! keep hating while d'banj's stock rises........your words won't stop his reign! his video is crap, his music is crap - leave it like that! why are you on his topic if you despise his music so much.........go and buy some weed and flex with your oliver d'coque, you hypersensitive imbëcile!

montelik: The song is okay. Personally for me, its better than Oyato which was destroyed by Bankuli voice on the chorus grin. Its true that fans seem to have become a lot more critical of D'banj overnight, and it seems to have coincided with his divorce from Mo Hits. But I believe these reactions aren't just to do with that. When D'Banj first went on his initial "Kanye signed me", "I with Good music" press promo tour, whether he intended to or not, he raised the bar of what most expected from him. I certainly thought that we would now see growth from him, experimentation and a sound with greater detail and quality. Most fans naturally expected him to step up his game. By the time split happened and he was now talking Def Jam Africa, International artist, World domination. It was set in stone that expectation for him had risen whether or not he asked for it. He could no longer give the same product and not expect blowback or indifference. People now expect see visible improvement and when they don't see it, they won't lower their expectations, they will instead voice criticisms. When 2face walked away from Platashun Boyz, the expectations bars was raised for him too. He scaled it and fans responded. D'Banj so far has yet to meet the expectations he raised with his own mouth, going by the reaction of most fans.

Now its quite clear that it is too early for many to be declaring him in trouble, after all he hasn't even released an album and Oliver Twist was unexpected monster hit, but its also silly to dismiss some of the criticisms as "hating", tribalism, "Jazzy fanbois" e.t.c. My money is D'Banj eventually getting it right, but only if he isn't listening to just the sycophants around him, but the realists too.
excellent post - you raised good points!
however, you cannot compare the leap 2face made from plantation boys to the giant leap dbanj made from mo hits to kanye's g-o-o-d music! it's not his fault people expect gargantuan improvement from him.

some of the criticisms are not justified - imagine someone comparing davido's dami duro to this new song of d'banj.......some people actually think mr endowed is better than this one when its the same concept - it then makes you worry that some of the criticism have a hidden agenda in them!

like i said, i am a rap fan - d'banj's music is not my style but he should be applauded for putting nigeria on the global scale and he needs the support of all and sundry!

Parosho: @coogar, I don't think this is all about being from a particular tribe or not. For instance, I am a yoruba infact from Ogun state as dbanj but truth must be said. Most of the songs dbanj has been chunning out in recent time are just kinda below par. When the music is good, you will surely see majority of the peeps giving it positive review, but once majority of the reviews are saying otherwise then you sure know the song could truly be below par.
levels don change - his music has evolved.....it's no longer afrocentric like "koko music". he now caters for a variety of other music fans so there must be a balance! remember - he's no longer independent - his bosses must have an influence on how they want his music to sound. the real target here is the sales not necessarily entertainment factor! personally, i don't see any difference between this new song and mr endowed!

As much as we all often appreciate 2face's music, he still gets criticised once in a while and that doesn't mean those critics of his music are haters.
I wish all good musical artists out there the very best.
Rasheed.
what's the difference between "bachelor" and "mr endowed"?
it's all in the mind - d'banj is no longer with don jazzie - everyone is eager and nervous to see how he fares on his own so we start looking for the difference instead of enjoying his music. if d'banj did this same song while he was still with don jazzie, people would rate it as world class!

How are they going to mitigate against residents of other states from registering in lagos?
I think if they want to have a data base of residents in lagos they can only get a honest figure, with no string attached to the exercise,I.e. "resident card".
I am a full blood lagosian and am already worried about the implication of this exercise, because we don't av control over our state boundary,
If they want to take bio metrics of all the residents, good but to issue a card? No please they should use the money for the cards to dredge the canals.

Gbawe: Let us try and avoid revisionism. It is totally optional and not to "control illegal citizens". You can use the link below to see how many Nations of the world have the model Lagos wants to implement. Certain things should be made legally clear before Lagos starts attempting to set itself up as a nation within Nigeria.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Identity_document
so what's the difference? the optional ID cards you have shown me here is not a driving license and you need enough documents and a proof of address to get one! how's it any different to what fashola is about to do?

americans wont use this state issued IDs for immigration because there's a system already in place with a central database.....nigeria have no such system in place...no database, nang! is it normal in your own view that we have no central database to identify who is who? the lagos government must start somewhere.....i don't care where - let them just get some data and start building from there on ....

if this exercise achieves to capture 5 million out of the 21 million population estimate in lagos state then it's a good start! i am all for any biometric database in lagos. this is 2012 not 1012. it's a crying shame that we are just starting when other countries have left us.....lagos cannot wait for our yeye federal government suffering creeping neurosis before they kick off their own programme - it is lagos who has to deal with overpopulaion, not abuja!

Ikengawo: Let's stop celebrating mediocricy.
The song was trash, has no point and is not memorable or noteworthy
the video is only shot with a standard 2012 HD camera, that doesn't make it quality, there are youtube videos with the same resolution so don't be wow'd by shininess. Look at the details. The woman 'smashes' the TV but they use a cheap CGI 'glass break' effect because they couldn't afford to smash an actual TV.
the woman 'smashes' the car window and it's the same thing. Mind you it's all completely pointless so you can't say the video was 'quality' there was nothing special about it.

The only reason I would say any of these things is because im worried at the level of 'america wanna-be' the nigerian music and movie industry is taking. We were able to be #1 in africa because for the first time we were showing the world africa. I don't think there has been a video shot in africa this year and the enthuasiasm for the music and movies are dying because instead of being africa we've become the cheap version of America. Sad thing is now we appeal neither to americans or nigerians. I hope this is just a foolish trend. These artists are getting arrogant and thinking anything they put out is gold. If you look at this years biggest hits

Kukere
Ile Ijo
Chop My Money
Pakuromo
Dami Duro
Nwa Baby

they still sounded very african, looked african, and used africans as the stars of the video.
This is a disappointment.
you are a troglodyte......
i bet you are one of those animals feeding off don jazzie to write nonsense about d'banj - your stupidity knows no bounds - d'banj cannot continue with the concept in the old videos....his fanbase has now stretched beyond the shores of africa and there must be a balance....he cannot be too afrocentric!

a dolt like you who has never achieved anything meaningful in your life should not be running another down. it's only a music video - not your superstory....music videos do not have to make sense - it's often abstract! as far as i am concerned, the song is superb and the video is top drawer. if you are not impressed, sell your father's house and go make your own! d'banj is doing nigeria proud and he's here to stay!

Gbawe: Where do you see that being done worldwide with a "resident" ID card that ostensibly confers more rights on some than others they share citizenship with regarding use of a geographical space within a nation? Where are we taking our examples from in Nigeria?
i reiterate......some states in america issue resident's card......
why are people against this exercise? has fashola come out to say it would be used to discriminate against non-lagosians? a state of 21 million population and yet no central database to identify who is who - and all you can see is segregation? gbawe, are you sure this is you posting or someone hijacked your nairaland account?

Censuses and headcounts are acceptable tools of demographic/social/economic planning but what is the concept behind States having "resident identity card"? I certainly admit that Fashola is a great administrator but I don't agree with this current move. Of course I may be wrong but I am just unconvinced this will reduce let alone cure the problem of urban migration that, to me, is the target of this initiative.
unfortunately, census and headcount would not reveal the true statistics - it is either understated or overstated. people have been manipulating that exercise in nigeria since the fall of adam - the biometrics system in this new move is a niche! no 2 humans can have the same fingerprint - so there can be no double entry or impersonation!
