That's Nigerians for you.

Most of them are grossly pained over nothing. Hateful and mischievous!

Always driven by pettiness and emotions.

Someone even once said on this platform, while denigrating the train coaches acquired by the FG, that coaches like the ones Buhari bought couldn't be found anywhere in the US.

Accidents, like you pointed out, happen all over the world.

Wasted resources. His going to New York and coming back is in vain. He was not needed in New York and he was not missed in Nigeria. The only people that benefitted from his fruitless journey are the black Americans and the homeless bums he gave free money to hold placards. So we couldn't care less if he ever arrives.
You are either ignorant or suffer from eternal unknown pain.

Did you watch or read his speech to the UNGA76?

No person could have made the case on concerted global efforts against Terrorism, Arms Proliferation, Climate Change, Vaccine Equality, Economic Recovery etc, stronger than the president of the Continent's largest nation.

Women suffrage came decades before Nigeria gained independence
So that example of Nigerian women voting from the beginning does not hold water
You speak of "tons of slums in the US and Britain"
Fine
There are rough areas
But what the population percentage who live in this conditions
In america it's one in five AT WORST
They say their poverty rate is 12.4% or so
Let's just make it 20% as I said one in five

What is the proportion of Nigerians living in squalid conditions IN NIGERIA?
Even the supposed high brow areas na nonsense with no proper drainage; central sewage system, and other amenities that a sub urban middle class area in Connecticut take for granted (most of the areas with few exceptions)

It's our acceptance of mediocrity and excusing it that put us in this mess that we are in
Who is talking about women suffrage?

There is a reason why I cited that as an instance. I was looking at imperfections of all human societies.

Proportion of persons living in squalors isnt the bone of contention here. The question is, are there squalors and slums in the US? Lets not use the grammar of 'proportion' to deviate from the issue.

This isn't about accepting mediocrity. You don't say because a country is still developing, then it is less or inferior to others. That makes no sense.

These developed countries passed through these phases as well.

I see that you deliberately avoided the roles of these so-called saintly nations in the looting of developing countries, especially in Africa...

I just hate this very rampant attitude of always putting your race and continent down just to praise other races and continent. I just hate it because it is too prevalent on this forum. Everything is a put down and comparison like other races and continents don't have their challenges and missteps. How many African presidential palace have you visited to quickly arrive at the conclusion that we are all just terrible people and every one else is so much better. You people are just sick in the head with too much self hatred and inferiority complex. After telling us about your freedom in Brazil hope you will also tell the people you are trying to impress how black people are treated worse than dogs in Brazil.
God bless you real good.

It is called 'second-class mentality' or 'mediocrity'. It is the height of loss of self identity and human dignity.

Nigerians in the US will show you everywhere beautiful in the US...aren't there equally beautiful places in Nigeria?

Aren't there tons of slums and places across in the US without power supply, water and motorable roads?

It took the US over half a century before women were allowed to vote in elections, but in Nigeria, women started participating in elections from day 1.

Nigeria and Africa are fantastically corrupt...Yes, yet the US, UK and all the so-called saintly nations do not think it is a problem collaborating in warehousing these monies for them. Who is deceiving who?

We just keep putting ourselves down...

I did a similar visit in Mexico during my Corrosion Engineering Program in Aguascalientes, some years ago. There certainly are restricted areas.

Baloney. I've been in this shithole for over 40 years and have never seen full pictures of either Dodan Barracks (when it was the seat of power in Nigeria) nor Asshole rock which is the current one. Which TV station has ever shown the full presidential villa including the buildings? Can you tell us how many buildings are in the villa?
What has your staying in Nigeria for 40 or 100 years got to do with the fact that pictures of the Villa being in the public space?

At age 9 or so, I and my schoolmates at FGC were at the Villa on excursion. Certainly, like everywhere in the world, you do not expect that access will be granted into every space at the Villa.

The Villa was even shown very well last week as FFK was received into the APC by President Buhari. FFK was shown right from when he alighted from the vehicle that brought he and Gov. Buni, up to when the climbed upstairs, to the President's office wing.

Na village you dey? Oga, I am a proper Abuja boy. Many 'everyday people' in Nigeria have being to the Villa. Some do regularly sef.

What has telling how many buildings are in the Villa got to do with anything? Quite childish!

Check the attached pictures and tell me if na una house for village that....

The day I went inside the politburo hall in China was the day I knew that Nigerian rulers are evil! I walked around the whole place in company of my Chinese friend. Most of the Chinese government establishment revolves around The Tianamen square. Yet that place is the biggest tourist attraction for ordinary Chinese, who save up to go and see these places, including the summer palaces and the great wall. Very freely and with little disturbances.

Infact more security checks were only introduced at The Tianamen square as Islamic militancy grew , especially around the Muslim dominated region in China. It makes you think deeply! If a socalled communist country can be so free to allow her citizens to walk around the corridors of power , what's it that frightens Nigerian leaders? Because this is a Nigerian problem. No one has pictures of Aso Rock. Yet, even in places like Cotonou and Lome, you can easily walk up to the gates of the state houses.

All theses knee-jerk approach to governance in Nigeria. What has the governor, in his capacity as former student, rector and now Governor done to improve the learning conditions before now ?

We should build strong institutions, not individuals.
Exactly what the Governor's action seeks to achieve...strong institutions.

I do not see how it is his fault that the school was not being properly run.

He discovered that the school was being poorly managed and took immediate actions.

I think he deserves commendation from all and sundry.

How does being a student three decades ago and rector several years ago, make the Governor culpable for the maladministration of the school?

You are very correct.

Tinubu is way more influential than Atiku.

Ordinary Nigerians hardly hear anything significant about Atiku when it is not election time.

For someone whose highest political office was to be Governor of Lagos state...I will give it to Tinubu any day. He almost singlehandedly delivered 5 out of the 6 states in the SW to Buhari in 2015.

The same way he delivered Lagos and 4 other SW states to Jonathan in 2011.

Tinubu and Atiku no be mate at all, politically.

SHUT UP... SHUT UP I SAY TO YOU...

It is either you don't know what you are saying or you are feigning because somehow the current structure favours you.

Firstly, Ebonyi is not doing much in terms of revenue generation.

Secondly, returning to regional autonomy will bring serious competition among states or allowing states to develop instead of spending time on Frivolous ventures. For instance, Niger Delta will be forced to talked to their youths so that oil companies can relocate their HQ back to the region instead of being in Lagos.

Let me tell you one: The North will be forced to sit up... Gombe governor has started initiation of collecting levy/tax from motorist and others. This is just a sign of what is to come. Another thing is that those funding terrorism in the North will be forced to look for something else. They will stop marrying and birthing anyhow. Most of the excesses and arrogance of the North is because of Southern docility and it MUST STOP!

EVEN the U.S where we copied this democracy has the autonomy of its states. Each state in the US has their laws and the president does not have the sole power as we have here.

Young man, you don't know what you are saying and It is annoying reading your comment.

Even South East where I am from is shamefully poor in revenue generation because they know that at the end of the month, they will use revenue from another state to patch their laziness. IT MUST STOP AND IT HAS TO STOP. Let every state cut their coat according to their cloth.

it does not look like you know the damages that spending money that you do not earn causes. Even on individual level, I have seen this turn people into lazy parasites, often entitled.
Lengthy nonsense!

There is nothing wrong with Nigeria's current governance structure.

People should hold their Councillors, LG Chairmen and State Governors more accountable.

I am happy you mentioned that you are from the South East...( though, I would still have known where you are from, without your saying it).

Let me ask you...who ended Nigeria's regionalism, and why?

You need to know the details to understand what you are saying.
