with a very porous border and a very unserious government on security. Weitin you expect, anyone can come and carry gun and kill in the name of Allah, Buddha or who knows.
1, let every worship areas or centers be armed with security, policeman and so forth- If they have to pay for security, so be it
2, Let every areas vulnerable to terrorist attacks be armed with security , the citizens of certain states should allowed to carry guns to defend themselves
3. The Nigerian Army need to probe and get rid of corrupt officers who more interested in their stomach- The army is trying, the oga at the tops are the one frustrating those who fighting for Nigeria.
4. Insecurity should be a very key issue during this upcoming election- Forget whether you support Osinbajo, Tinubu, Atiku or ko. If they cannot make adjustments then the candidates are useless as the current President.
5, Every adult Nigerians should be armed- E get why since the government cannot stop or at least minimize the killings- Let the citizens defend themselves- At least, you have a chance when you have a gun

Stop betting-some of you will not hear word. Do not be a degenerate gambler, the odds are never in your favour. You go place bet on man city, you do not even know if one footballer is having girlfriend or family issue that day and the day you placed bet on that club, that is the day that footballer will play rubbish.

there is something wrong if the woman is crying . If there was nothing wrong , then the woman will not be crying, think about it. People do not cry and complain without a reason. The wife is not feeling her husband sleeping in a room especially if she is feeling loney. The matter should be address by both husband and wife, wife should communicate to her husband, husband should adjust.

Politics / Are Those Behind The Generators Monopoly Preventing The General Electricity? by cooltola(m): 3:49pm On Apr 29, 2022
I posted earlier why Lagos should be the forefront of generating electricity on its own ? I heard many views why it cannot work in Nigeria and I will admit that these viewpoints made sense. I heard that constant electricity is bad for those who in the generator business and monopoly. Those who sell oil will not make money and it will spoil business for them, in which I agree. I also heard that if Lagos state produce electricity, Lagos must send electricity to national grid.
At least those who control the oil can create a gas fired power plant to create electricity and sell at a reasonable price- if they are worried of losing money. The Russians do so, make a lot of money by exporting to other European countries.

Lagos state still should lead the way by trying at least. If the plans are in the ways, they should take it serious, let it become a reality- the Government of Lagos State have the revenue and ability to do so and if Lagos State send to the national grid-It is still good for the country as a whole. In which I pray this become a reality
Generators are bad for the economy generally- A company profits go into buying diesel and maintaining generators parts or buying new generator. These company are losing money- some companies are relocating or collapsing, jobs are getting scare. A country cannot be held hostage by those who are into generator business.

We cannot all japa , those who are abroad running their country with constant electricity do not have 2 heads.

Once electricity is fixed or it has improved greatly, then the country can develop better. Nigerians are resourceful people and I trust we will know what to do. The sufferings is too much, God is in control

It is better not to talk ignorantly in public with so much confidence

First there is a difference between "right" and "power" or "authority"

States or governments have powers not rights

The authority to generate electricity is very different from the authority TO LEGISLATE on electricity

The exclusive list is simply a list of things which THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY has exclusive authority to legislate on. There is nothing anywhere that says states cannot generate electricity even If it were on the exclusive list

HOWEVER THAT CLAIM IS FALSE> IT IS ON THE CONCURRENT LIST AND THIS IS WHAT THE CONSTITUTION SAYS
14. A House of Assembly may make laws for the State with respect to -

(a) electricity and the establishment in that State of electric power stations;

(b) the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity to areas not covered by a national grid system within that State; and

(c) the establishment within that State of any authority for the promotion and management of electric power stations established by the State.

The law in Nigeria today is that if YOU HAVE the capacity and means you can generate electricity . A private business or company can generate electricity, a local government or state government can generate electricity .
All the GENCOs we have in Nigeria today are what Are they government owned?

The only thing is they must do so with the legislative and policy framework authorized by the National Assembly .

However there is a proposed constitutional change to give states even more legislative power

As things stand TODAY. any entity business or subnational government can form a GENCO within the extant framework

Excellent point Sir
Politics / Re: Why Lagos Should Produce Its Own Electricity ? by cooltola(m): 3:32pm On Apr 29, 2022
Ttalk:
As it is today there is no motivation for any state to generate electricity because whatever your state generated would be send to national grid for national use. The implication of this is that such state would not have better electricity than other states who do not invest in it.

However, the law allows individual, corporation and state can generate electricity to meet some peculiar needs such as power plant at Alausa, Unilag and Redeemed Camp.

The right to generate power is in exclusive list of 1999 Constitution and in situation where a state generate more than the above allocated kwh, the excess would be transfer to national grid for national use.

Coming to your concern about Lagos state generating power because of it need and financial buoyancy, Tinubu took the bold step during his first tenure when he embarked on Enron Project in conjunction with Egbin Power Station that presently supply national greed. The frustration experienced by that government made Fashola to narrow his power generation agenda to certain institutions like Secretariat ,Lagos Teaching Hospital and other few sections of the state.

In summary, Nigeria problem largely lies on wicked constitution given to us by the military and supported by the north at the detriment of the entire country. The recent ongoing bill to move power generation, transmission and distribution to the states is yet to reach the 3rd reading at both chambers, passing it at the first reading doesn't mean it would scale through other readings as Nigeria politicians always take national development from the point of ethnic and tribe. Even when it is passed we hope the president would accent it and hope to see him accent a version that has not been watered down by ethnic and corrupt legislators

Thank you very much Sir for your input, at least they should try.
Business / Nothing Wrong Working For A Company Or Doing Your Own Business by cooltola(m): 4:01pm On Apr 26, 2022
There is nothing wrong for someone working for a company. There is a myth that working for a company is bad and starting your own business or working for yourself is good. I have seen some people who have started a business with nothing to show for it and have seen some people who work for someone or a company with nothing to show for it. Do your homework by studying the market, the customers and the environment before venturing out. A business or hustle that works in Oshodi might not work in Ibadan. A business that Emeka is successful at might not work Femi or vice versa.
Always put God first

Never put all your eggs in one basket and always try something new that can pay you in the long run. The job market is always changing but there are constant no matter how bad the economy which are transport business , housing and the need for foods and information.

Since we live in the internet age, it is not a bad idea for one to learn more on computer programs or IT so you can keep yourself updated.

Never put your business into the hands of friends or family. There is no family in business because they do not care about your sacrifices or what it takes to run a business, instead employ a qualified person who will increase the net worth of your business.

Keep your business establishment clean and odorless. No one wants to come to dirty environment.

Never mixes business acquaintance or customers as your personal friends- Your female/male customer are not your girlfriend or boyfriend

Always think ahead of the curve by looking for way to eliminate waste-e.g. if your top customers happens to around 4-8am, you want to be there at 330am and live close to the area of your business whether there is traffic or not . It does not make sense that you live 1.5 hour away from business location because of traffic. You will lose money, time , and sanity

Always take care of your equipment that fetches you money e.g if you drive for uber, service your car regularly will save your money, and keep your car running for a long time.

Working for a very well paying job means you set high standard for yourself, there are many qualified people who want your spot in the company- You do not to give room for anyone to sack you. You do not come late for work, do your work very well and never take anything for granted.

If it happens that you know that your boss or employer is at a wedding party or any social event with you, try your best never to outshine your boss at any event because tomorrow might be another story especially if the job is high paying.

Just because your job pay very well does not mean it going to last, always have a backup plan, save your money and try to live according to your means. You do not want to be the person that made a lot of money in 2020s and now you barely can afford to rent a self contain.

Learn from your competitors- Your competitors are not necessary your enemies, you can learn some valuable lessons from your competitors and learn how they are successful at their businesses.

Listen to your customers- accept constructive criticism

If you have plan to start a business- go ahead and start one

Do not keep up with Jones-

Please feel free to share your ideas

Lagos state that is surrounded with water but cannot provide water for its citizens

if you are talking about fresh water , then Lagos state should be able to produce water , I am not sure if the Lagos Lagoon is too salty to drink. But a water treatment plant on a large scale can only happen if Lagos can produce constant electricity. Most of the water purification machine use electricity a lot. I do not know even if the Lagos state government have plans to do such projects

Politics / Why Lagos Should Produce Its Own Electricity ? by cooltola(m): 12:22am On Apr 07, 2022
Lagos is a major city in the world and we are all know that Lagos is most populated area in Nigeria at any time in a year. With the abundance of water, skilled people, tech savvy businesses and revenues I wonder why Lagos state cannot create its own electricity. The money generated from Lagos can start a project because Lagos state is a revenue making state. If you look at any major city in the world e.g. Shanghai, London, Tokyo, electricity is a constant. For Nigeria to move forward, those who are in power or who are running the affairs of Lagos state should see the bigger picture that constant electricity is good for the nation but Lagos must jumpstart and be the center of excellence like Lagos claim. So my question is what is stopping Lagos from creating a couple of hydroelectric dams, electricity from nuclear and so forth. Scientist in the forum - these question is for you- Is it impossible to create a hydroelectric dam in Lagos Lagoon or is it possible? Politicians in the forum- Why is an impossible task or why is it a possible task. We all pray for a better Nigeria
We are all pray for a better Nigeria but Nigeria cannot improve if the electricity is not constant in all parts. A strong economy will need a constant electricity, I heard some good news that some parts in Nigeria are beginning to have constant electricity. With the upcoming presidential election, a serious presidential should put the electrification of the most major cities in Nigeria as a priority
