An motorcyclist died in a tragic in an accident just months after he staged his own accident to propose to his girlfriend.

Miguel Angel Pena, 39, was enjoying another ride along the Dominican Republic’s resort town of Las Terrenas with a group of other bikers when he lost control of his motorcycle on a highway on Friday.

A video camera mounted on Pena’s helmet shows the moment he loses the handle of his motorcycle as he is about to maneuver around a curve at a dangerous high speed and crashes on his right side.

According to Noticias SIN, who obtained the footage to the horrific accident, preliminary medical reports indicated Pena, a father of an 11-year-old girl living in New York City, suffered fractures in his cranium and died at a local medical center in the province of Samana.

The married Dominican, who was the president of the local racing club Inmortales MC [Immortals MC], gathered his friends together and made up an accident scene on the side of a road in the Caribbean Island.

But Pena did it with the sole intention of asking his then girlfriend, Mayra Vargas, to marry him.
Vargas cries in anguish, asking him Pena is he didn’t see the road ahead of him while his friends acted out their parts in the biker’s marriage proposal skit.

Pena could be heard complaining of leg pain moments before the other bikers assist him in getting to his feet while Vargas asks why is the entire event being filmed.

Then moments later, Pena get on his right knee and pulls out a box with a diamond right as Vargas kneels on the ground.
The biker’s friends tell her if she is going to say ‘yes’ before she willingly accepted her boyfriend’s proposal with a kiss.

At least 20 people have been killed and 17 wounded in explosions followed by heavy gunfire in Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, according to police.

Plumes of smoke billowed into the air on Friday as at least two car bombs went off near the popular Sahafi Hotel and the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

Initially, "two blasts struck the perimeter of the Sahafi Hotel along the main road," Ibrahim Mohamed, police official, was quoted as saying by the AFP news agency.

A third explosion later hit the busy street, according to witnesses. Although the attackers "failed to access the hotel, the blasts outside the hotel killed many people", Mohamed Hussein, police captain, told The Associated Press news agency.

Some of the victims were burned beyond recognition when one car bomb exploded next to a minibus, police said. "I've pulled many dead bodies from the cars," Mohamed Aden, a witness of the attack, told Al Jazeera in Mogadishu.

"The number of casualties is unknown as bodies are still being pulled from the burning cars".
"The street was crowded with people and cars, bodies were everywhere," said Hussein Nur, a shopkeeper who suffered light shrapnel injuries on his right hand.

"Gunfire killed several people, too."
Another police captain, Mohamed Ahmed, was quoted by the Reuters news agency as saying 22 civilians were killed, along with six of the attackers.
"So, in total, 28 people died," Ahmed said.

Al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the attack, according to its Adalus radio station.
The armed group has been carrying out frequent attacks in the Somali capital in its bid to topple the country's internationally recognised government.

A masters degree holder, Aminu Ahmed Yerima, has been arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team, IRT, for defrauding over 50 persons on Facebook, pretending to be an aide to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, who is presently the Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party.

Yerima, who is also a native of Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State, where the former Vice President, hails from, had fleeced his unsuspecting victims of large sums of money, running into millions of naira. He was said to have ran into trouble when two of his female victims wrote a petition against him to the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, detailing how he defrauded them of the sum of N5million within the space of six months.

Police sources disclosed that after the IGP approved the petitions, he directed his men at IRT, headed by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, to investigate and bring the perpetrator to book. Yerima, was said to have been traced through information he provided on his Facebook and Kano State, where he was arrested.

The police sources explained that Yerima, created a Facebook account using pictures of himself and the former Vice President, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia and several other locations. He also identified himself on his facebook wall as the personal aide to the former vice president.

Photos have shown the really heartbreaking moment a young boy was spotted staring at the photo of his father who was recently killed during a fallout between security operatives and the Shi'ites members.

It will be recalled that two weeks ago, the city of Abuja recorded a number of clashes between members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria aka Shi'ites and security agents.

Many Shi'ite members were reportedly killed during the clash while the sect members in turn burnt a vehicle belonging to the FCT police command and also inflicted varying degrees of injury on some soldiers.

One of the sect members killed during the clash was Mustafa Ingawa, a father of one. He was buried yesterday, November 8th.

During Mustafa's burial, his little son was spotted staring at the dead man's photos which were pasted on the coffin. The photo have left many people heartbroken on social media.

A commercial vehicle driver (name withheld), has on Tuesday received N2 million cash as reward from the Zamfara state government for killing two armed bandits last week.

Handing over the money on behalf of the state government in his office, the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Bello Dankande said the gesture was in fulfillment of the state governor’s pledge to give N1 million on each AK 47 rifle siezed from bandits.

The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that the driver ran into the two bandits along Gidan Jaja/Gurbin Bore Road of Zurmi local government area of the state in the night.

He said the incident happened when the bandits were attempting to cross the road with their rifles on their shoulders killing them instantly.

Similarly, two other communities benefited from the same gesture of N1 million each having rounded two bandits, seized their guns and handed them over to the security agents.

The commissioner further said the two communities were that of Unguwan Mallamai in Maradun local government and Matuzgi in Talata-Mafara local government areas.

He restated the state government’s commitment to continue to the give reward noting that “the state government is ready to give N100 million to any person or group that collects 100 AK 47 and we will continue to improve on the security of all communities in the state.”

He said with the additional engagement of 500 youths from each of the 17 emirate councils of the state who were expected to complement the effort and work of conventional security agents, the days of the bandits were numbered in the state.

A woman who was found with a dead tortoise in her private parts may have been the victim of sexual assault after a night out partying, according to reports.

The British ex-pat, living on Tenerife, went to hospital after complaining about abdominal pains.

The duty doctors inspected her and saw that her discomfort was due to the fact that the woman, who lives on the island, had a dead turtle inside her vagina which had caused a serious infection.

Police on the island were told the unnamed woman may have been the victim of sexual assault, according to ABC news.

Medical experts also feared the woman had been a victim of sexual assault.

The paper reports that the police opened the investigation after doctors referred the discovery to officers.

However she did not wish for the matter to be investigated further.

It is understood Spanish National Police on the island are not pursuing the matter.

A police source said: “This incident did happen and the reports are true. The woman does not know how the reptile ended up where it did and we don’t either.”

The size of the reptile has not been revealed and some reports suggest it may have been a turtle rather than a tortoise.

A Missouri teacher has been detained for having sex with a teenage boy repeatedly – including once in a local cemetery, according to local authorities. Katrina Kraus, 35, was charged with second-degree statutory rape and second-degree statutory sodomy in Schuyler County. Both are Class D felonies.

Kraus is said to have had consensual intercourse with the student on multiple occasions from June to October of 2017. He was 14 when they first got together and had turned 15 by the end of their relationship.

Officials claimed that the victim vividly described one of his six incidents with Kraus taking place at the Cone Cemetery in Schuyler County.
The teenager said that the other five occurrences took place in Scotland County.
While Kraus is currently facing charges in Schuyler County, Sheriff Joe Wuebker told KTVO that more charges could be pending for Scotland County.

Investigators were first notified about the relationship when they were contacted by a different 17-year-old student from Schuyler County High School in April 2018.

The student claimed that he met the woman while she was a substitute teacher in the Schuyler County R-1 School District.
He was a senior at the time.
He claimed that the educator sent him sexually explicit messages via social media that included nude images.

Teenagers who are 17 are considered adults in Missouri, so no charges were made against Kraus in connection to those allegations.
Police were able to get details surrounding the 15-year-old based off the other student’s allegations.

Kraus, from Memphis, Missouri, is being held at the Adair County Law Enforcement Center.
Her bond is set at $15,000 in cash.

A Nigerian man was nabbed today in North Greenwich, London, for allegedly defrauding and extorting money from illegal immigrants in the United Kingdom.

According to Nigerian radio presenter, Olayomi Koiki, the accused disguised as an immigration officer in order to be able to extort money from Nigerians and other illegal immigrants without any hindrance.

The man was nabbed today outside a building in London by one of his victims (an immigrant), who dragged him right in public and refused to let go as the elderly man tried to fight back.

Chelsea Manager, Mauricio Sarri has told former Nigerian international, Victor Moses that he is not in his plans and therefore should be ready to leave.

Reports rom London said Sarri has already held clear-the-air talks with Moses and told the star he is not in plans for the team, hence his absence on Wednesday.


Moses has made only one start this season and was a surprise omission from the squad against Derby, despite training with the team the previous day.


However, additional information reveals that his former coach at Chelsea, Jose Mourinho, who is now in charge at Manchester United, is on the hunt for Moses.


Mourinho actually needs a new striker, as both Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford have not totally convinced this season with only five goals between them in 24 competitive games, but Moses could fit in.


The three attack-minded players being considered by the old Trafford outfit are Moses, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Croatia star Ante Rebic and AS Roma’s Cengiz ünder.


After joining Chelsea in August 2012, Moses was farmed out on loan to Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham United before the arrival of The Blues’ former manager, Antonio Conte.

Residents have reportedly begun to panic after an earth tremor hit Maitama, one of Abuja's highbrow areas.

According to reports, the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency (NGSA) has reported that there was earth tremor in Maitama District of Abuja on Thursday, sparking some stir in the area.

A statement released by the agency said that the incident happened at 12:26 this afternoon.
“Our preliminary findings indicated that the tremor occurred around 12.26pm around the vicinity of Panama Street in Maitama District. After field evaluations, the NGSA determined that the intensity was about 3.0 on the Mercalli Intensity Scale, which means it was felt indoors and lasted less than 1 minute.”

However, the residents were consequently reassured that there was no cause for panic.
The statement further revealed that there was no structural damage because of the shake.
However, NEMA was adequately briefed by the NGSA.

The NGSA technical team are conducting further assessment exercises and will continue to update the public on any new development..

Imarah, who runs an online Mental Health Counselling Service, called “Dr Tomi’s Haven’’, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Lagos.



According to her, sex is part of a balanced diet, reflecting how essential it is to overall health and well being. “With regards to the impact of sex on job performance, I will prefer an emphasis on sex in marriage; frequent unmet expectations stir frustrations and resentment, leaving you distracted at a subconscious level.

“Sex boosts endorphins and other productivity hormones; you go to work energised, work brilliantly and get promoted. “The reverse is sexual frustration, and pent up emotions is highly distracting and you are prone to errors.

“From my interactions with male clients when they have a vibrant sex life, they feel energised to achieve so much in other areas of their lives. “What they do not know is that sex releases endorphins, which are ‘feel good’ hormones.

“These hormones fill you with energy, just like when you go for a run or other rigorous exercises. It pumps blood to your brain and helps you operate more optimally.
“Not to talk of the fact that couples with frustrations in the bedroom have it spilling into other areas of their relationships, causing conflicts, leading to further repercussions outside the home including workplace,“ she said.

Imarah said that during sexual activities, certain hormones including oxytocin, endorphins, dopamine, testosterone, estrogen were released.
“These sex hormones leave behind some effects, such as improved mood, stress alleviation, immune boosting, relaxed feeling, positive energy, improved attention and concentration, and improved memory capacity.

“All these effects culminate in improved emotional, mental, and physical well being; that is why people walk around with a spring in their steps. “Apart from these biochemical effects of sex, stoking the intimacy flames with someone you love helps your relationship thrive better, “ the therapist said.

Imarah said that many Nigerians’ attitude toward and perception about sex was very poor and attributed this to ignorance and poor education at all levels. She said that only men were allowed to talk and engage in sexual activities, while sex for women was shrouded in secrecy. “So, you now have a whole generation of women:

wonderful mothers, devoted wives, great cooks, hardworking in every area of life, but struggling in the bedroom. “To start changing this situation, sex education needs to be taken more seriously at all levels; right from home, parents need to have “The Sex Talk” with their adolescents, both boys and girls.

“Formal sex education needs to be included in school curriculum and delivered by specially trained sex educators. “That we do not talk about sex does not mean our boys and girls are not experimenting, especially with the current information explosion on the internet.

“The least we can do is ensure we provide early foundation knowledge and put things in the right perspective. “Also, there should not be stigmatisation of women who are sex enthusiasts; women should be free to express themselves as well as men. “We should let go of the cultural nuances that feed the impression that women’s interest in sex reflects promiscuity,” the sex therapist added

The police in Lagos state have declared the Togolese cook of a popular Lagos chief, Ope Bademosi, wanted for killing him at his Onikoyi Lane, Parkview Estate yesterday October 31st.

Bademosi was the chairman of Credit Switch Limited.

The cook was employed just last Sunday October 28th.

According to reports, residents of the area woke up to the news that the chief had been murdered by his cook who disappeared shortly after the murder.

According to the wife, she said she left her husband very early this morning to do some transactions in the bank.

On her way back, she called her husband and couldn’t hear what he was saying as his words were barely cohesive, and was just muttering words before the call dropped.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ikoyi Division, Ikoyi-Lagos, SP Mustapha Tijani, said the police is on the heels of the cook that is currently on the run.

He said the police would release a statement soon.

An English man who knowingly infected two women with HIV and ‘took the coward’s way out’ by remaining silent has today been jailed for more than six years.
Aaron Sutcliffe failed to tell the victims he had HIV and has now left both terrified they will pass the virus onto their children.

A court heard the 29-year-old ignored his ‘moral and legal obligation’ to disclose his condition to the women and instead ‘took the coward’s way out’.

But Sutcliffe, of Fleetwood, Lancashire, was today sentenced to six years and nine months in prison after he earlier admitted two counts of inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Sentencing at Preston Crown Court, Judge Philip Parry said: ‘You wilfully and deliberately withheld your status to two women that you professed to care for. That was deceitful, calculated and manipulative.

Judge Parry also imposed a sexual harm prevention order on Sutcliffe which – until further notice – prohibits him from engaging in lawful sex with another person unless he has told them he has HIV and they understood and acknowledged the disclosure.

Sutcliffe was previously subject to an order which required him to provide contact details of partners to Lancashire Police’s public protection unit and then wait for written approval before having intercourse wearing a condom.

The man was diagnosed with HIV in 2008 but the offences took place on various dates between 2009 and 2016. The court heard how Sutcliffe had ‘ample opportunity’ to tell both partners of his status.

But the judge said he left one with a ‘life sentence’.

Sutcliffe’s second victim contracted the virus after he complained he was struggling to put a condom on. She told the court that Sutcliffe had robbed her of ‘precious early months of bonding’ with her child as she took to wearing gloves to feed and change the infant. The court heard Sutcliffe was said to have a background of alcohol and drug abuse, and had been referred to mental health services on numerous occasions.

Detective Constable Emma Shuttleworth, of Lancashire Police, said: ‘Aaron Sutcliffe had numerous opportunities to tell both of his victims that he was HIV positive and he failed to do so.

Two students of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State, have been killed following a clash between the Eiye and Aiye () confraternities.

According to reports, the incident occurred at Right Link Villa, Okanlawon Street.

The two Eiye cult members (pictured) were hacked to death and their hands chopped off as a sign that they were killed by the Aiyes.

Last week, at least one person was killed with several others injured when some youth suspected to be members of rival cultists clashed in Ijapo area of Akure, Ondo state capital.

It was gathered that many residents of the area and passerby ran for their lives when the cultists engaged themselves in a fierce shootout.

According to an eyewitness, the cause of the clash was unknown but the gunmen started shooting and running across the estate while one man was caught down and others with gunshot escaped from the scene of the incident.

He explained that it took over two hours before men of the state police command curtailed the incident but said the identity of the cult group behind the shootout was still unknown as at the time of writing this report.

A man has ended his life after his girlfriend sent him a video of her having sex with another man.

It was gathered that the estranged girlfriend decided to mock her boyfriend and probably provoke him by recording a record with another man which she sent to him (her boyfriend), not knowing it would end in a tragic way.

According to reports, the man who couldn’t bear the heartbreak following the record of his girlfriend reportedly committed suicide by drinking a poisonous substance.

He was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
According to online reports, the shocking incident happened recently in Azua, a municipality in the Dominican Republic.

Pictures of the deceased and his estranged girlfriend have gone viral online with multiple internet users wondering why the lady decided to cause her lover’s death.

In a press statement by Demianus Ojijeogu, and made available to journalists on Sunday, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) says it will soon conduct the first series of the West African Senior School certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates.

A spokesperson of the examination council, who signed the statement, also said the examination will be conducted between January and February, 2019.

According to the statement, registration started October 8 and will end December 28, 2018.

The registration procedure has been designed to accommodate biometric features that will be used for validation at the examination centre.

“After obtaining the registration pin, candidates should log on to www.waeconline.org,” it said.

The council also said there is provision for “walk–in” candidates and candidates with special needs.

“Walk –in candidates, who wish to write the examination after the close of entries may be accommodated provided they register less than 24 hours to the scheduled time of the paper they intend to write,” the statement said.

The walk-in candidates’ fee is N25, 000.

The statement said the special needs’ candidates will also register online but “they must state clearly their disabilities: blind, low vision, spastic, speech etc.

“Candidates must conclude registration within two weeks of first access to the website during registration period,” the statement said.

WAEC said candidates are expected to pay a registration fee of N13, 950 and a commission of N500 to banks and accredited agents.

Former Nairobi Town Clerk, John Gakuo who is often reffered to as the 'Saviour of Nairobi' died this morning October 30th at Mbagathi Hospital.

Gakuo was on Monday rushed to the hospital from Nairobi Remand Prison in Industrial Area after developing health complications.

His lawyer Asa Nyakundi has confirmed the death saying the 68 year-old was serving three-year sentences after being found guilty of participating in contributing to the loss of public money during the purchase of a 120-acre cemetery land in Mavoko in 2008, where Sh238 million was paid irregularly.

Empress Njamah seems to have finally reacted to a viral interview made by her ex-boyfriend, Timaya on why he collected his car gift from her after they broke up.


Timaya earlier revealed why he collected his car gift from an ex-girlfriend, Empress Njamah.
The Bayelsa State-born musician and the actress had dated during the early stage of Timaya’s career. They, however, parted ways over undisclosed reasons.

However, the ‘’Sanko’’ crooner, for the first time, came out to speak on why he broke up with the actress and how he collected his car gift.

He said;

“We woke up one day, and she said I was cheating on her with different girls, and I asked her with who, she called quite a number of names, popular people that I didn’t think of and I didn’t do shit with.

‘’There was one other popular actress that comes to my house regularly, at some point, we had a misunderstanding and we broke up and I even heard about the part where they said I went to the church to beg her.

“At that point, she wanted me to get her a Murano, and at that point, a friend of mine came home for Christmas and brought a Murano, and he was going back and wanted me to buy the car, so I was like ”you like this one” she was like she doesn’t like this one that she wanted a particular one from the United States. So I gave my friend the money to buy the car. Then a girl got me a Honda Pilot for my birthday, just a fan.

‘’The lady who gave the car gift wanted it back because I had given it to Empress. I reached out to Empress to get the car back so as to return it back to the lady.
‘’Empress told me she has used the car to settle herself. I was looking for her, that’s why I went to the church.

‘’I’m saying this now because of the comments people made when they say “you buy gift, you go collect am like Timaya,” am sorry that was my car.

“I went to the church because it is my car. I had the spare key, I wanted to drive the car, so the security guys come dey look me, and I tell them say, but that’s my car, na my girl, Empress na him carry this car come this church, so they said I should go inside the church and call her and I said I can’t go inside when there is a service going on, so na from there the chaos happen,”

The details made public by him have prompted a reaction from Empress who has since relocated to Abuja to face her boutique business.

She wrote on her page;
