Vehicular and human activities have been suspended in different parts of Kano where the campaign trail of President Muhammadu Buhari landed on Thursday.

People lined on the streets from Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) to the palace of the emir of Kano and the Sani Abacha Stadium, venue of the campaign.

Our Correspondent observed that hundreds of party members from all walks of life arrived the venue of the rally as early as 7am.

Traffics have been gridlock as motorists in their hundred took over all the major roads with party faithfuls struggling to catch the glimpse of the President Buhari rally.

Security agents lost control of the situation, as the surging crowd overpowered them at the rally.

Kano is the stronghold of the president. He secured over 1.9 million votes in the state in 2015 and Abdullahi Ganduje, the governor, has promised him five million votes in 2019.

Bashir Ahmad, an aide of the president, tweeted a video of the people who trooped to the streets to receive the president.

Two governors from Niger Republic were part of those who received President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of his campaign in Kano state.

The governors are Issa Moussa of Zinder and Zakiri Umar of Maradi.

Salihu Yakasai, media aide, of Umar Ganduje, governor of Kano, disclosed it in a tweet on Thursday.

“H.E @GovUmarGanduje with his deputy H.E Dr Nasiru Gawuna, His former Dep H.E Prof Hafiz Abubakar, Minister of Interior Abdurrahman Dambazau & that of Water Resources Kazaure, Governors of Zinder and Maradi from Niger Republic, & others getting ready to receive @MBuhari #PMBinKano,” Yakasai tweeted.


It not clear why the governors are part of Ganduje’s team or the role they may be playing in the campaign.

Some Twitter users commenting on the post said they do not want foreign interference as the country is preparing to go to the polls.

“But we don’t want foreign countries interfering in our election Governors from another country in APC attire and attending APC event?? That’s a new one,” one Nwosa EA tweeted.

Here is a moment President Buhari presented a wrong person as the APC Governorship candidate as he campaigned in Cross River, State.

The President presented, Ndoma Egba due the fact he [Buhari] saw him walking towards his direction on the podium, instead of Senator Owan Enoh as APC Governorship candidate.

The whole process sparked confusion, as the wrong person [Ndoma Egba] presented as the Governorship candidate, moved the President's hand with the aid of party's chairman, Adams Oshiomhole towards the actual flag bearer [Owan Enoh].
