Australia will join the United States in a diplomatic boycott of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said Wednesday. Morrison said while Australian athletes will still attend the Games in February, the government will be keeping official representatives at home. Speaking at a news conference in Sydney, the Australian leader said "human rights abuses and issues in Xinjiang" were some of the concerns raised by the Australian government with Beijing. "I am very ... happy to talk to the Chinese government about these issues, and there has been no obstacle to that occurring on our side but the Chinese government has consistently not taken those opportunities to meet with us about those issues," he said. For months, activists have called for a boycott of the Games over human rights abuses by the Chinese government in Xinjiang and Tibet and its political crackdown in Hong Kong. Beijing has been accused by the US and other Western nations of imprisoning more than a million Muslim-majority Uyghurs in detention centers in Xinjiang, where some former detainees claim they were tortured, raped or forcibly sterilized. Beijing denies the allegations, saying the camps are reeducation centers designed to fight separatism and Islamist terrorism in the far western region. While the International Olympic Committee (IOC) said in January that awarding a country the Games did not mean it endorsed their "human rights standards," activists said giving the high-profile event to China added legitimacy to the actions of the ruling Communist Party. Morrison's announcement follows a decision Monday by the Biden administration to not send an official US delegation to the Games -- the first country to confirm a diplomatic boycott. White House press secretary Jen Psaki said the US boycott was a statement against China's "ongoing genocide and crimes against humanity in Xinjiang." US athletes will still be allowed to compete in the Games, but the administration will not be sending government officials. The same policy applies for the 2022 Winter Paralympics, scheduled for Beijing in March. Following the US' decision, China's Foreign Ministry said Tuesday it had launched "solemn representation" with Washington and vowed to take "resolute countermeasures," without saying what those measures would be. The US will host the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, while the 2032 Games will take place in Brisbane, Australia. Speaking on Wednesday, Morrison said Australia is a great sporting nation and he wished the IOC all the best for the Beijing Winter Games. "I very much separate the issues of sport and the issues that are between two governments ... Australia will not step back from the strong position it's had, standing up for Australians' interests," Morrison said. https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/07/australia/australia-beijing-olympic-boycott-china-intl-hnk/index.html |
Vipro:Everywhere you work is an organization, is it not? It gives you training to do just about anything in an organization, including start your own. |
1Sharon:It's really not. Just because someone seems confident and secure doesn't mean they are. And I also said it's a result of mental illness. The problem may be a lack of normal, well-adjusted thinking and behavior. They may come from a violent home, have a chemical imbalance, have a fētish for violence, or be rētārded in a way that isn't obvious. There's any number of things that could be wrong. It's not normal behavior. Have you heard about natural selection? Nature also isn't forgiving to people who have some vulnerability. We are not wild animals or a forest. We think on a high level and act based on biology and social conditioning. No offense, but you sound oyinbo. They always try to pretend that animalistic behavior is somehow normal to justify their sick thinking and behavior. |
They're most likely confident men who aren't intimidated by their partner's accomplishments. They're probably also in the same field or an equally demanding job and can manage the relationship challenges. Some may be total opposites that find they balance each other. |
1. Indians are hired for these positions because they're cheap and tolerate abuse while constantly begging approval. They also use them during periods of poor performance, so a nonwhite gets the blame when things go terribly wrong. 2. Before you submit a job application, check for Indian leadership or owners. Do not submit if you find ownership or substantial leadership. 3. If your firm gets bought by Indians or appoints substantial Indian leadership, quit. 4. They should be thankful because that company no longer has anything to offer them. |
And all of them are probably oyinbos. |
Congrats, bro.

Samfloxin:1. An uneducated person can get rich from slāvery. Does that make them better? 2. Do you want to live in a country where most people are uneducated? Where there are few or no doctors, engineers, lawyers, and other professionals? Do you want to live in the forest? 3. Education is an enriching process where people learn about the subject and themselves. They emerge not just with a credential, but with valuable life experience. 4. There are rich, educated people living in their family (aka parents') home. They have investments, a good job, and live full lives. They also have good relationships with parents, and no intention of leaving until they marry and get help with their first baby. Does that bother you? It shouldn't. |
Good thread. |
GboyegaD:It's good to talk about this because it helps change things. Some people may see the kid's experience as normal, or fear speaking out for whatever reason. This can give people strength and put more pressure on schools to create a healthier learning environment. |
A few days ago. I use an app that let's you listen to stations around the world. I mostly listen to foreign music, so I thought it would be cool. I prefer the stuff I find and my mixes, but for certain genres, the stations have a nice offering. |
Whoooa. Nice. lol |
Cute. |
Oyinbos are scum, and so are Chinese. There's no point in debating which pile of trash smells worse. |
Kobojunkie:It's a country where domestic violence is common and teachers are instructed by parents to hit their children. |
1. A crōssdresser shouldn't comment on anything. 2. Nigeria produces a lot of music, and almost all of it has no political slant, so anyone who would actually make these claims sounds uneducated. 3. Don't give that creature views or clicks. |
1Sharon:Nah. I think it's a combination of things, but perhaps mainly it comes from insecurity and a person not getting the emotional support they need. People who do it "because they can" seem to suffer from mental illness (e.g. sociopath) or rētārdation. It's really only people with strong mental and emotional problems who get satisfaction out of tormenting someone. |
It's really disgusting how she bleached herself and wears those contacts. |
Ppogbae:Wigs (glue) damaged her hairline. |
Whoa. |
Wow. That sūcks. But I wonder if it's just because he wouldn't pay a bribe. |
They probably had contact with some kind of pollutant from an industrial site and were able to fly for a while. |
I wouldn't expect these m0r0ns to know, but they need to be aware of where the weapons are pointed. |
Plot twist. |
..... |
Valkrie:Nah. |
Brázil. |
