patches689:Thank you, you give up. The last word belongs to people who really fight not cowards who steal a wife but can't defend her honor in a fight and end up killing Achilles the true warrior from a distance in cowardice whilst also bringing destruction on everyone else. We are this and that Oya invade make we see. Btw Augustine ain't here cos when he does come you will regret all the empty boasts of SANDF over the years. I'm quite easy on you, he won't be. Noise making Southies, jingoists, let me see u make kpim next time. Cowards! |
patches689:No I'm here to talk your insults not Augustine. You were gonna invade Zimbabwe at the sign of a meltdown. Well, we have one instead of hiding in shame for your useless military you dare rant nonsense. We are begging for an invasion Patch, pls! Cowards! |
patches689:Rantings of a teenager. Keep writing nonsense to defend your paper army. Get it into your head the absence of a credible military deterrence in SADC is why Gen. Chiwenga and the defence staff of Zimbabwe pulled of this coup. Stop being a disgrace to African intelligence and zip it boy. |
patches689:No this is called a Coup by the military. This is not a people's uprising. I'll teach u kid. A man under house arrest is held against his will. In this case that man is the C-in-C. In that situation he is incapable of requesting for intervention. It beholves of relevant stakeholders to step in and rescue him and restore constitutional order and bring the coupists to judgement. |
We all see what is happening in Togo. It is akin to the situation on our hands in Zimbabwe. No one is saying the Gnasingbe family are saints but the Military there won't try this nonsense and if they do they know the consequences. We know how Burkina Faso' coup ended. Nigeria knows all the scheming of soldiers to justify a coup having borne the brunt of it in it's history. I just hate soldiers turning politicians. It's an aberration. A coup is a coup whichever language you use. The AU is already couching it's language very smartly saying "it appears to be a coup" because if it is then an intervention is justified to restore the status quo or organize new elections depending on the local forces at play. But constitutionality must be restored. |
tdayof:Two different things here. Same constitutional upheaval. Gambia: Election Dispute Zimbabwe: Brazen military Coup Jammeh refused to give up power after mediation, Nigeria and ECOWAS invaded and ousted him. Robert Mugabe apparently has been overthrown and under house arrest. The military is in control under whatever guise even if by a puppet—that is against the constitution which justifies an intervention else a certain Captain or Major elsewhere will have other ideas. tdayof this is a brazen theft of power at the barrel of the gun in broad daylight. It won't happen in ECOWAS with big brother watching. |
overhypedsteve: ![]() |
overhypedsteve: They just continue to be leak in the pipe. You just nailed it. This is the time to be so proud to be an ECOWAS citizen. This would never happen. SADC is joke. Mugabe for all his sins deserve a honorable exit. |
patches689:Patch if you hadn't canceled my lectures above you'd have learnt something and but be asking this stupid question. When start being honorable and respect an elder I'll dialogue with u like I do with Andrewza. |
overhypedsteve:Man...you made my day ![]() Tell them...looking at them justifying a coup... |
patches689:My hats out to SupremeCourt! I hail Ooo! Everything you bragged against him is now egg on your face. Shame! Here's Zimbabwe you bragged about invading, solve it and we will give you a sit among men. Now run along the Baba in Abuja is now trying to get u out of this one, again. Just this once, after this you will be left to be humiliated by Botswana. |
patches689:Where's your brigade-sized exercises kid? They should come in handy ![]() You can mock and insult kid, it's your forte. Fact is your country South Africa has failed again. Your leadership is an embarrassment. Own up. Zimbabwe will never happen in Nigeria's neck of the woods because we are Africa's superpower. Go cry! Pained kid. |
andrewza:Now you make a good point speaking of the countries you mentioned. We might just throw in Namibia they are not exactly a push over. I expected that from you though as I've been wanting a southie to be objective, no! I don't mean the ignoramuses on here bragging about none existent capability which is why I call them out for documentation. People should be held accountable for their comments here when the chickens come home to roost. Patch and Ak & Co. along with their chief jingoist have long spoken of an invasion of Zimbabwe even when I told them at pains SA can't and won't do it but instead of learn what they don't know they resort to insults and cheap escape. Speaking of the situation in Zim right now, military intervention will lack home support in Nigeria or elsewhere as Mugabe has become odious. However soldiers welding political power in Africa today upends AU statutes justifying an intervention by other means which will come by relevant stakeholders. As you have pointed the strengths of the SADC member nations validates my point de jure that SA' regional influence as touted exists only on paper and not in practicality. Nigeria, is de facto the regional hegemon in West & Central Africa for which a different scenerio would have played out. In this case Nigeria will still intervene one way or the other not to prop up Mugabe but to establish constitutional order which is in our national security interests having been prone to coups in the past. The AU has that clause for a reason. |
To all intent and purposes what is happening in Zimbabwe is a coup. Putting your commander-in-chief under house arrest is a coup. Under AU statutes there is a legal justification for intervention whether through diplomacy or other instruments of international pressure. |
Breaking: President Buhari calls for respect of the Constitution in Zimbabwe. Abuja monitoring the situation which is very fluid closely. |
patches689:T'is not about France, it's about Zimbabwe don't change subject. And no they don't have more combat jets in the region if u mean numbers. |
patches689:Lol! Whose begging for faceless people to take me seriously? Again you're cowering behind innuendos kid. Last I checked Patch you were among those calling for an invasion of Zimbabwe should the Mugabe succession get out of control. It has! SA where at thou to invade? Glory is begging ![]() Kid let it go. Just admit your country or let me not be hard on you even though I should but u're just a kid—your leadership dey fall una hand. |
andrewza:Lol! Andrewza don't just go there, my adrenalin is a notch higher today and I'm ready for combat. Conspiracy theories are not facts. |
patches689:Nigerians calling me out lol! Listen kid, there are Nigerians and there are Nigerians. So that's not an escape for u neither is calling me Augustine escape. I won't let this pass. Did u hear me? Cowards! That u and ignoramuses here don't know international relations don't mean I'll let it adorn nairaland. Everything I write is continually validated here day by day only insolent-proud-I-too-know humans here act about it with f.oolery yet go behind to steal points and quote it by other terms here. I have talked on regional powers, what it means and the coercive measures it can bring to bear by various means. So, you are clearly not getting it. Because u're a kid I'll tell you again, now u cancel and remain mediocre as ur retort indicates or sit at the foot of the teacher and learn: Long story short, you see what happened or is happening in SADC won't happen in ECOWAS, period. Why? Because an Hegemon exists: Nigeria. The states know Nigeria has the military threat dimension which don't necessarily have to be used but just the fact it exists brings Nations into acquiescence of the hegemon. I could draw you a scenario of measures Nigeria could employ in Zimbabwe to determine the outcome it wants and would it act yes it would. Failure to act makes it weaker. That's a regional power. It surreptitiously, covertly, overtly, economically or militarily determines the fate of nations under it's sphere of influence. AK and indeed others I remember has been drawing for blood in Zimbabwe to show your military might now he's singing a different tune. Next time when a Nigerian talks y'all should just shut up and acknowledge whose your boss. That's the fact. Here you are babbling nonsense. You think after all the noise you southies make of your capabilities condescending on us at every turn and the opportunity presents itself to prove it and you failed again I'll swallow it hook line and sinker, nah, imma call you out so it's documented. Where's your shiny Gripens? but alas the Zims know you have no combat capability. You can't fight. If you were a threat those Generals would dare not do what they did knowing the consequences. What happened in your backyard won't happen here and everyone knows it but the bias of ur media cousins especially bbc would have us read a different narrative to make SA still appear relevant in power dynamics but would never give Nigeria it's due. No, you are not. One phone call from a Nigerian General and any officer planning a coup in sub-Saharan Africa will think twice and stand down. I can't continue to indulge a kid. Oya cancel and get a jolt to your veins. The point has been made. SA military power and regional claim only exists on paper. Covert has been validated again and will be validated again. |
patches689:Your quote is enough evidence u're day dreaming, well not surprising since u actually believe it. Walk into Zimbabwe let's see. Canceling mention gives no self-confidence nor self-esteem neither will it make your country suddenly able to change the dynamics in Zimbabwe. Shame right on your borders. |
patches689:Just curious where is all your bragging of SA military might? Duty calls in Zimbabwe! Based on your rantings along with others of how SA is invincible Zim military wouldn't dare take measures without permission from Tshwane. Clearly they don't consider you a threat. No, son, you are evidently pained and day dreaming. People like us who say things that we can back up when the chips are down don't curse. It's beneath us. |
LTGEN:Well thanks LtGen, they don't know we do our home work. SA walks away and will walk away cos it lacks the capacity to change things on the ground. The military intervention threat dimension is absent in SABC. Zim military may have been hit by sanctions but it is still a potent threat for which SA has no answer. Just imagine say Niger is in such crisis as we've seen before, we don't even deploy troops we tell the politicians and boys in the Army what to do and they do it knowing the consequences. Long story short, Nigeria along with the AU and partners will sort this out. |
ActivateKruger:AK you must not respond to every post as in this case. First understand the point. |
Off Topic: While Diplomats & Military Commanders from Harare to Abuja to Pretoria and foreign capitals are grappling with Zimbabwe right now I might just be taking an interest in the Super Eagles again. I had previously gone on Nigerian football sabbatical lol! This new mix of guys just walloped Argentina 4-2 following a stream of other successes. It was a training match for the Eagles. Akpeyi's sins gave the South Americans the consolation of 2 goals. Brilliant effort guys! |
LTGEN:The action of the high command is an act of insubordination. No doubt. Clearly the hand writing is on the wall for Mugabe. An end to his purported dynasty through Grace his wife is in sight. Pretoria lacks the muscle to coerce the Generals. Abuja would be keeping an eye on things down there. A coup would be the nuclear option upending AU statutes. Nigeria may acquiesce with a back room deal with the sworn enemies of the old man to see him go quietly with dignity. |
jakeporeshenko:Ostensibly...Diplomats have no idea what exactly is going on. Significant military attaches and covert intelligence will be on the hotline now with Zim Generals and Colonels to know exactly what the intentions are. Frantic calls going on now between Harare and major capitals. Apparently when tensions douse down things won't remain the same. |
frumentius:Have you noticed that Andrewza and I never talk like this. See your line of thought. You won't smell an officers mess. Pls go to bed. And that your chief patron that calls himself a Nigerian but never takes a position so to appeal to every shade and shadow is the exact pic of what a coward looks like. Professionals don't trust people like that. Bravery is when you take a position in life and defend what you believe in not cower behind every mention. |
Foreign firms have always wanted access to Nigeria's defence industry. Nigeria is the centre of interest for the west. Just that Nigeria refuses. What everyone should know is simple. Nigeria and SA' defence industry are completely different in the sense that whilst the former as state policy allows almost non-existent advanced foreign military tech investments in it's industry the latter does without restrictions. SA does not have single monopoly of the defence systems it produces. Nigeria's reason is clear: Foreign tech comes with strings attached. Apart from restrictions in use and sale whether to third parties for Nigeria the focus is more on not giving access to any foreign power to its defence industry. It allows only limited partnership mostly with Israel and the like but not the West. Nigeria has been wooed in the past but access means rights. Simply put we don't want you to own us. Secrecy is still a weapon of war and Nigeria's military is a fighting army. It is a matter of National Security. It prefers to self develop (Gulma etc). The downside is it takes longer to bring to bear the indigenously developed advanced tech needed in military weaponry. SA also has the bias of it's cousins in the west which began in Apartheid times (i.e N. Reactors tech) and subsists by various forms to this day. Whatever Nigeria lacks today in Military tech is self inflicted. But Abuja won't change that policy. And Nigeria is not alone. |
frumentius:You are no officer. At best an NCO of lower cadre. You take it to the bank and cash the cheque. Andrewza best fits that profile. He never acts condescendingly and even though wrong betimes on pertinent matter in question he's restrained: that's the trait of an officer and gentleman. You on the other hand is a jingoist. The chief jingoistic of this thread who subtly in ink thinks his hue and nationality is lord these parts, a deluded thinking which of course only emanates from ancestral uber-self. I warn you don't mention me. If you have half the intelligence you assume you'd decipher the difference in the characters at play here. Alas! You don't! Stay in place. |
andrewza:Exactly why your soldiers keep running away from a fight. You think war is driving in fancy gears. You never see pepper. Wait make one South Sudanese soldier catch you or a former RUF rebel in Monrovia or Boko show up walahi you go beg for that drilling. |
andrewza:Won't take your bait. You won't know who I am. But don't tell me about soldiery. Clearly it's self evident you are the average soldier. I need only challenge you to a 6km run and shame you with the girls. Pls rest this matter. Our training is significantly different than yours which is why we are the go to people to get the hard job done in Africa. |
pacretus:Pls don't mind that illiterat.e. Giving him attention pumps his mediocrity. In today's dollars it takes about 10 million dollars to train a Nigerian soldier. May have even gone up under President Buhari. But inferior complex can't make locals bereft of any value believe that can come out of Black Africa. They want us to be apologists. Tufiakwa! Pls forgive my language forgot my curse word. |
