We might just move on, Nigeria and Egypt ain't gonna fight a war. Except for its geographical location Egypt is not in Africa. It is an Arab power. It's geo-political permutations are primarily Israel and Arab interests for which it arms generously funded by rich gulf nations. As Henry pointed out series of events lead to outright war for which you arm appropriately. As I said u can buy trouble and right now no one wants that trouble least Egypt whose economy is much smaller than Nigeria' and cannot fund or sustain a war against Nigeria rather it's the opposite assuming someone loses his senses.

You clearly have no clue that wars are not won by Assets. They're won by money. Can Egypt's economy sustain a war against Africa's two biggest Economies? Egypt survives because of the large aid it receives.

My brother biko don't try to convince people who have no iota of the doctrine of war. For them is all the shiny toys they see on TV or nairaland most of which will be rust bucket and rust metal when they make first contact with the enemy. Imagine the archaic statement of Egypt gaining air superiority over a country like Nigeria in 48hrs. Egyptian pilots that have been known to be cowardly in the face of real combat. I don't quite go along with that line of the Nigerian press on the visit. Methinks this has something to do with being in the good books of the powers that be in Abuja considering his family is not exactly looking to relinquish power in Kampala any time soon. His son is being primed for power. With an eye on Burundi I always considered Uganda was a potential future hotspot over a power struggle. In the mix also is Kenya next door with the courts overturning the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta. Something definitely brought the strongman calling especially before the UN General Meetings next week.

My Take/Submission: National Power will be defined in the context of commensurate strength in the key power indicators of people, resources, economy and military capability and not one area in isolation of the others.

There are 54 independent African states recognized by the African Union(AU) and the United Nations(UN).

There are presently 3 regional powers in Africa: 1. Nigeria in West Africa. 2. South Africa in Southern Africa. 3. Egypt in North Africa. Nigeria is the dominant power of the 3 and by extension the dominant power in Africa.

There are in Africa the sub-regions of North Africa, West Africa, Central Africa, East Africa And Southern Africa each with it's own regional organizations. Egypt is the dominant power in the North along with Algeria. Kenya in East Africa with the competing power of Ethiopia. South Africa in Southern Africa. Nigeria wields unparalleled power in West and Central Africa and is described as the sub-regional hegemon.
