There's a similar base that was almost overran by bokoharam in NE. The video has been posted on Bidexii thread before where those guys claimed BHT sneaked into their base at night almost causing them to fire at each other since you can't recognize the enemy easily again.

Fortunately, there was no life lost on the part of our own guys but a soldier was shot on his leg. Base intact.


To me, lack of situational awareness and response. All I can deduce is these guys of ours have been in that battlefield for long and know how to respond but the Tz guys might have seen just little action.

Base doesn't look secure. Mortar/RPG etc from rebels will make you disorganized at first before looking out for what to shoot.

It is not accurate to judge good radar by range alone and to shallowly extend the idea that aircraft nose cone size is directly proportional to range of detection. Half of the work is in signal processing and optimization of resources between scanning, tracking and aiming. And yes Sudan is not getting top of the line stuff.

I see your point. No wonder Iran refused to buy Russian t-90 tanks, they prefer made in Iran tanks that are same level as modernized t-72. Iran also refused to buy downgraded su-30 from Russia, they say it's either the best su-30SM version or su-35, or else no deal. Iran says they are tired of inferior weapons that super powers dump on 3rd world nations, and Iran also wants full local maintenance capability for su-30 or else they will not buy jets that will make them always depend on foreign technical support in time of war and embargo.

With all these points you people are raising here, maybe Sudan will end up with downgraded su-35 that will not be able to beat NAF jf-17 block iiii that has AESA radar, but sha, there is no plan for NAF to buy air refueling, the NAF boys said it costs extra $50 million for air refuelling planes and no need to refuel in air against Boko Haram.

My friend, JF17 versions NAF will own would have MIG 29 type engines, refuelling capability and a radar at par/ better than SU 35. Getting to Sudan is refuelling over Maiduguri and meeting the aircraft's on the way back.

There are so many factors to capability that you should not be shallow or mechanistic in thinking. Gadhaffi's Libya and Saddam's Iraq were examples of countries with loads of hardware and low capability. Iran, UAE, Nigeria and Jordan are examples of countries starting to emphasize acquisition of holistic capabilities instead of mindless buying of weapons that makes you prey to scams from developed countries.

This cowards politicians didn't plan to die for Nigeria, they will fly out and leave us at the time that we want them the most. NAF defends itself with only f-7 till jf-17 arrival 2018. I think NAF put eyes on cheap $50 million mig-29M2 that Egypt got this year, but now if Sudan news of su-35 is true, NAF will worry about 3,000KM range stealthy jet armed Sudan just 1,000KM away from Nigeria, it can flyover Chad, enter Nigeria, do damage, go back with same fuel tank. I think NAF may change choice from mig-29M2 to the stealthy mig-35 to checkmate a nearby country posing with su-35. Only mig-35 can stop su-35 in Africa apart from Rafale. I hope arms race is not starting, Senegal's navy is negotiating for small fast attack ships with antiship missiles in our Gulf of Guinea, Senegal has found $2 billion gas field offshore and wants to build muscle to guard their golden water. Nobody wants to be pushed robbed like mumu nowadays.
