Na wa oh. These embassy people do all verifications no be small. My mom's bank just called her that the head office received an email from the embassy stating my name to make inquiries if my mom actually collected the statement of account & used it for me. So my mom confirmed that I am her daughter & next of kin. The bank replied them that its ok for them to treat.

My company is my sponsor & not my mom. I just used my discretion to include her bank statement, sworn affidavit of consent, letter & documents. I forgot to add that she received her visiting visa since on the 5th of August. I have also alerted my company just in case they contact them.

Please prepare your school, office, sponsor or whatsoever so that when they make inquiries from them, they can respond accurately & promptly. Probably its verification that delays the visa process so you need to be ready for whatever they throw at ya.

Best of luck to all of us.

Of all nations to be foolish for, India grin grin grin grin grin

Why are some Nigerian women so dull like this? How can you have an online friendship with an Indian man for 4 years. Last year, he said he loves you & promises you heaven & earth, so what? Are you lacking love here? Are your parents not loving you enough even if you are single? Are you that desperate?

Move to India & have a blast with a total stranger that you can't verify his whereabout & livelihood. What if you go & your family never finds you again or you are used for Hindu rituals or prostitution or cocaine trafficking? Is it worth it to go that far for manhood. I don't get the reasoning of ladies sometimes. With the whole terrorism & casualties in the world today, you are still ready to take the risk to India for man.

Its very possible to meet people online & start up a relationship but this your own is far from it & an act of stupidity. No school, work or apprenticeship for you to take part in to improve you lifestyle? Do you even have Nigerians in India? If na Uk or US or Canada, no how you must see naija & can sort yourself out.

Please think with your head & not your heart.

SMDH @ people blaming the society for everything, whatever happened to blaming ourselves in the first instance?! huh
When you said you don't believe in love or you were an atheist. Everyone including me disagreed with you and found your comment offensive because our society does not believe in such & even if they do, they will not openly admit it so as not to be castigated or feel left out. If human beings acts as individuals & do things uniquely then we would make our own mistakes & learn from it or be too happy to be what we want. Majority of the actions we take are influenced by the society we live in. Everyone is scared to be different, we forget that what works for A might not work for B.

I know we as individuals have the major roles to play in a marriage but when you grow up in a society with a limited scope of marriage, how do you progress when its likely your partner, your family & friends have that hypocritical mindset. Try telling your in-laws that you don't believe in God, hope they allow you marry their daughter even if you are the best option for her. That my dear is the societal brainwashing. What we were made to believe & not what we learnt as we grew or the realities of life.
RomanceRe: How Do U Put Off A Guy That Talks Through Body Language In An Effort To Impress by Cuddlemii: 3:42am On Aug 25, 2011
@pendo

Abegii leave matter jor. I have a guy close to my office that bugs the crap out of me. Yours is even better but I didn't come to Nland to ask for advice. I tried all options till I finally succeeded.

I have noticed something about you, you give the green light, you like clingy men & love to be chased. But loose interest later probably because you are confused, you like cocky men or you get bored easily. And your response is always the same "I don't like him, I am christain, please I didnt come to Nland for love, I came to discuss issues, Please I don't know what to say to tell him off, I am leaving, when i was young , "

That's the same thing with Satani, Toba, Claremone etc.

The guy in question might just want a raise or wants to move to the mother company so he is sucking up to workers there. Its not all body languages & actions that connote flirting or likeness. Take a chill pill or develop a thick skin.

Babes relax & let it go, let it out. You would make a good wife so let a man acquire the blessing wink wink wink
RomanceRe: A Woman's Worth by Cuddlemii: 3:20am On Aug 25, 2011
A woman would be much better off if she could distinguish the difference between a man that flatters her & a man that compliments her, a man that spends money on her & a man that invests in her, a man that views her as property & a man that views her properly, a man that lusts after her & a man that loves her, a man that believes he is Gods gift to women & a man that REMEMBERS a woman IS God's gift to man,

^^^^^I read this and I know some of you will say it is just cliche - but I had to Repost it here on NL - I pulled it off a status of one of my facebook friends - I am not the author - but I just loved it - because it SPEAKS TRUTH.
Very good write up. I like it but I am not a fan of ideal but real. It has a very safe premise. No risk involved.

I don't think all these still holds water these days. A man compliments a lady, views her properly as God's gift to man can be re-written in mins. So its always best to have A couple that knows their weaknesses, bad habits and can tolerate them & willing to compromise.

What happens when God's gift for man screws up later on in future, would he still look at her properly? Would he have doubts at the back of his mind? Would he get another gift?

But all in all, very good for a woman's worth booster around here different from the stereotype belief of women being money conscious. wink wink wink

FamilyRe: Why Do Too Many New Marriages Hit Rock These Days? Who Is Responsible? by Cuddlemii: 2:48am On Aug 25, 2011
The society is responsible.

We were born into a society where rules were already laid down so in order to meet up people shape their marriage based on the society. The Society has always been the watch dogs/dictator and the couples, rubber stamps.

The society frowns at single ladies who don't marry on time and put pressure on them. The bible didn't speculate that a lady must marry at all cost although it was ordained by God. So in order to avoid being a spectacle or specimen of ridicule in the society, ladies get into marriages out of desperation.

The society also frowns at men with no male child, their parents start hammering their need of a grandson. Some positions are not handed to them in the office because of their bachelor status so they opt for marriage as an escape route to peace & getting their dues. Sometimes men go searching for male children in the wrong places or from the wrong women.

The society also initiated the Stereotype/Step-ford wife/African man syndrome which gave men the sole right to trample on their wives and go Scot free. The society also initiated the whole native wearing for women making them less desirable and predictable for the hubbies who go searching for young bloods who dress well & are experimental.

The society also initiated deception and train the young ones that you look for some certain qualities in a man or woman before settling down. Who gave people the sole right to play God & judge some people as non marriageable material? So due to the awareness & sanctimonious talk, people now act out those qualities that gets them married only for them to exhibit their real selves later. Lies, manipulation & all manner of vices are used to get what they want. It becomes unbearing when you are married to a total stranger as his/her true sides were hidden from the beginning.

The society encouraged men to have extra-marital affairs. There are no laws guiding that in Nigeria as the law makers themselves are chronic defaulters. From the inception, the women didn't fight against it instead their kind practiced it with these married men. So how do you change an age long tradition? Men exercise so much power & dominance because the society permitted that. The wives have also refused to spice their intimate activities because the society only preached missionary & heed the other intimate preferences. The society tags other forms of sexuality immoral, unorthodox, dirty & a sin.

The society facilitated the incompatibility& mis-matching: A pastor will tell a lady that her hubby is the crippled man in church. What is wrong with heart desires & attraction? A rich family would pick their rich friends son for their daughter, what is wrong with love & decision making? Friends at school would tell a lady to marry a man who doesn't drink or attend parties, Is that a yardstick for her happiness? Who are we to cheat destiny & play the role of God. If 2 adults love themselves & want to sleep with themselves for the rest of their lives, whats the big deal. The society would also ask people not to marry foreigners but Nigerians. Yoruba must marry Yoruba, Igbo must marry Igbo. No diversity & flexibility. Since when did color & tribe determine a happy home?

The societal Segregation/Discrimination: Moslims are bad. Yoruba men flirt alot. Delta men apart from the delta igbos are cheats. Igbo men do rituals. Calabar women are promiscuous. Marry for financial reasons, marry an ugly man or woman because they have the best character. Don't marry light complexioned people etc. What happened to individuality & uniqueness. Why most we base our marriage on mere assumptions. Many people have lost the right partner for them because of all these.

Appreciation: The society does not teach couples to appreciate each other either by kind gestures, gift, dates etc. All we promote are negativism like cheating, stealing, punishment, judgment etc. We are always quick in pointing fingers & castigating people. We don't discuss the good sides, its as if we are always waiting for it to hit the rocks. Thats why newspapers sell because of the divorce & dirty tales of marriages. No issue to applaud the institution of marriage. Why is it not instilled in children how to motivate & value your partner.

The role:
Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! the bible differentiated the role of the man and the woman bla bla bla but the society abused that. Why must a woman be enslaved & abused. What is wrong with empowerment & following their dreams. Why is their role meant to start and end in the kitchen. Why can't women hold a significant position of office because they are married. Most women are unhappy & unfulfilled because their marriage limited their potentials & did not accommodate their dreams so they nag & fight their hubbies hence leading to a break up. Some men don't even like their wives speaking outside because they are insecure due to their lack of intelligence. At some point the woman would have had enough and vent anger.

^Well its good at least some girls' bf et hubby would be at home for some months. And babes would not demand after reading this story for some months.

When we start admitting the faults & tackling it rather than criticizing & ranting, then there would be a solution. There is more to life than sex, all the virgin town criers need to start teaching values & ethics to ladies and not clamping or sex. Other things need our attention & contributions too. "Why not stay a virgin, clamp you would marry bla bla bla", the decadence is far beyond all that.

Approach a lady that has not eaten for 3 days & tell her to clamp. When she clamps her teeth on u. You would learn that food is paramount at that time. How do we break this jinx called poverty & encourage female empowerment is the way forward.
