He has to either stay away from either the brother or the wife. If he is realy close to his brother he should easily know if he is lying or telling the truth. As for the girl their is no way he can actually say he knows what she is capable of,5 years is not even enough for you to know someone who does not bleed the same blood with you. finding the truth lies with the brother whom he is more familiar with and knows his history with ladies in the past.If you ask me tho i will tell you that the brother actually raped her. He is human,their is no amount of therapy that can make him live with both people still being close in his life. one of them has to go. If he truely loves this girl he should just forgive her,time heals every wound no matter how bad it is. he should also get his brother a different place to stay or arrange for another place for him. If he did it now he will do it again and maybe blame the devil or alchohol.

If he plans to still have his brother around i will advise him to let this girl go so another man can start mending her heart soon,not when after she build her world around him and then he will now let her go leaving a permanent scar. let him choose one,it is upto him.
