I just hope this ban won't negatively affect decisions on our applications. Especially those of us that used Christmas as our reason for travelling. These Uk people can be very wicked sometimes. I'm seriously considering withdrawing my application.

I don’t blame them, it’s our foolish politicians that have no self respect that I blame. If Nigeria was as good as the UAE or even Kenya, how many of us would’ve cared about going to the uk for holiday??

If you have a UK visa, you can easily pay $60 for an e-visa to enter Turkey. No need for embassy wahala.
Dubai visa can also be processed online.

Turkey or Dubai both would need visa. How do one go about it? what’s the duration to process such visa since with UK Visa any idea?

It’s not safe to spend the 14 days in other African countries. This is obviously an attack on Africa as a whole! Imagine the South Africans that came to Nigeria to spend 14 days here in hopes that they will be able to enter the Uk after their time here. Just for UK to suddenly add Nigeria to that list.
We don’t know which African country will be added to the red list next. It’s better to be safe than sorry. Spending 14 days in another African country is a huge gamble.

Benin republic is not in the uk red list zone, instead of spending money to turkey or dubai
Why not take a bus to benin republic or flight and stay for 14 days and move to uk, even ghana too

I would rather spend 10 days in another country as a free human being than spend 10 days in their government hotel where they treat people like animals!
Go and watch YouTube videos on the horrible treatment people got in those hotels!!!
Imagine them feeding a Muslim man pork after he had told them several times that he can’t eat it! The man starved for days!!!
That money is better spent in Dubai or Turkey where you won’t be miserable.

I meant cost of Hotel booking during your stay in Dubai for 10days plus flight and other expenses. Is it not almost same as travelling directly to the UK from Nigeria and pay for the mandatory 10days quarantine

Cancel your appointment now because once it’s 24 hours to your appointment, you can’t cancel and that means you’ve dashed them the money.

Nigeria has now been added to UK's red list. There goes people's Christmas holidays. If you have to travel, you will need to quarantine in a hotel for 10 days.

Okay, so you’re young, single & self-employed.
Is your business profitable? Because there’s the question of why you’re being financially sponsored by your sister if your business is profitable enough to return to. If your business makes enough revenue, there should be proof of this in your bank statement. It would’ve been an easier case if you were financing your trip and you were just being invited by your sis & her husband.

Also, do you have a travel history to other countries?
Uk ECOs are very strict o. People have family members in the UK and they still deny them. I am a living proof of that. My parent was dying in a uk hospital while receiving treatment and I was denied despite being employed by one of the best companies in Nigeria. The ECO said that there are large deposits in my account and he’s not sure where they came from.
Especially if you’re a young person. They believe you have no reason to come back to Nigeria.

The ways to prove to the ECO that you will return to Nigeria is to show that you have;
1. A well paying career to return to
2. A profitable business to return to
3. Family to return to (husband or children)
4. Your personal investment (land/building).
5. You have a good travel history to other countries. This also helps sometimes.

First timers are usually adviced to use standard. Super priority can lead to the ECO rushing to get your application out without carefully studying your case. Unless it’s a medical emergency, urgent business meeting or something.
Many people on this thread did super priority visas and it seems like they just rushed and packaged their passport back to them because they are time bound.

The “document transferred to VAC” has been there for everyone since last week or so. There’s a glitch on the TLS website

What is your employment status? Self employed, Employed, Student?. What are your ties in Nigeria that would convince the ECO that you will return to Nigeria a free your trip?

These were my own thoughts too. It can easily be misinterpreted and remember sometimes, the applications can be divided between different ECOs even if the family submits together. Each application form refers to 1 person.

To my own contribution don't put the same amount on each applicant application, since you plan to spend 5k for the whole family you will divided the money into each applicant application.

Don't ever try to put 5k each

Now for spouse’s application do I need to put 5K again ? Or what do I do.

I only submitted a cover letter from my company explaining my traveling and I didn’t submit any account statement or any other document

Sorry about this. These ECOs seem to make alot of mistakes! Also, cross-check his application form and the information provided. Make sure that this next application is fool-proof from end to end. You should also back it up with a very convincing cover letter that breaks down his intention to travel, that explains the previous refusal and that also explains both his personal and company finances. He should give a very good and understandable breakdown in this letter. Let them not have any reason to deny him at all. Because sometimes, when you address one issue, they will purposely look for another reason to deny someone. I don't trust those people.

Also, was it standard or priority application that your husband did? How many working days after his biometric did it take before he received this letter?

My husbands refusal.
He wants to reapply immediately.
One of the mistake noted was the self employed and employed thing. But the area of business not generating income , I don’t think they bothered to look at the business account statement. Two company account statement was uploaded.
He submitted the company account and tax clearance which was not acknowledged in the refusal. What else does he need to submit again

Yes, but as this seems complicated, just make sure this is addressed in the cover letter so that the ECO will clearly understand. Then add supporting documents to back it up.

Please is it okay to present 4 different account statements for visa application?

Reason is because sponsor’s employment salary are sent into 3 different accounts for automated spending and structure while the 4th account is savings account with sufficient balance. Travel budget will be withdrawn from the savings.

All origin of funds and proof are available.

Just wondering if providing 3-6 months statement for each account isn’t too much?

Please note these accounts belong to the sponsor.
Applicant doesn’t work because of studies.

Can applicant submit only the savings account statement with proof of all deposits acquired legally? Money in the savings is proceeds from sale of property.

FOR IPHONE USERS! The TLS tracking app is called “Track My Application”. There’s no “TLS” written on it.
Unfortunately, the app is not available in Nigeria

I doubt it is a glitch. There were some people on this thread who applied on Nov 1st and got their visas around Nov 17th. So it's not strange at all. Quickly wear your slippers and run to TLS office

My sister did her Masters in RGU.
1. Cost of living is less than England.
2. You can easily get a job e.g with primark, apple store, food factory, waitress etc.
3. I don't know. If you can't pay up your fees, you will forfeit your education. Don't think of working for more than 20 hours because you will be caught and deported.
4. If money is tight for just you, imagine going with a child.
