Hello, someone reached out to me that she would like to write the TCF Canada exam as I did but in order to reduce the cost for having a personal tutor, she would like a group class. If anyone is interested, please indicate here and I'm sure she will message you privately.

I've sent it to your mail

It was paper based

Allegory:
Did it end up being paper or computer based?

I’ve replied you

Pls can I get ur contact? My exam is in August

Hello everyone!!!! I am back with my TCF Canada results!!! This was my first attempt and I was so scared but God saw me through!
I was hoping to get even the bare minimum pass result but I'm so surprised by this! I made a lot of sacrifices with my time, finances and even relationships because I couldn't spend time with my loved ones but it was all worth it in the end! I just want everyone here that is hoping to write either TCF / TEF exams to remain dedicated and should not give up. To be honest, you will need to study and sacrifice a lot but if you remain diligent, you will reap the fruits.
Old CRS score: 432
New CRS score: 500

I'm sure you will ace the exam in a few months. If you look at my profile and read all that i've been posting on this thread, you will be able to see my journey and how clueless I was even this time last year. Just keep working hard and i'm sure you too will come here to give your testimony cheesy

Hello, congratulations on your TCF results. I intend to write the TEF exams in a couple of months. How did you memorise a lot of vocabulary? And did you use the PrepMyFuture website for preparation?
TravelRe: All TEF Candidates For Canada Immigration, Let's Meet Here! by cutebear: 5:28pm On Jun 07, 2021
Hello, thank you. I didn't have to memorise vocabulary. The truth is that if you just try to memorise vocabulary, it may not really help you in the exam because you never know what kind of topic you will have to speak/write about. The most important thing is to improve your general french knowledge and learn vocabulary from different sectors e.g health, technology, education, work, climate change, culture, sports e.t.c Seeing that it's an evaluation of your competence in the language, this is very importance. Reading blogs & listening to podcasts will really help you. I really love parismatch.com & scienceshumaines.com for reading. Learning to use "connectors" is also a major game changer for your EE & EO tasks.
Also, I believe the best way to learn new words is by learning them in context. That is, not memorising words but learning to use them in sentences. This approach was a game changer for me.
I didn't use PrepMyFuture website because it is specific to TEF and I wrote TCF.

U re right. Can we connect. How do you get materials for practice? Have u booked already?
Booked?? No o...scroll up. I just posted my TCF exam results some days ago grin
You can download TCF textbooks online using google search. There are many helpful websites for TCF exam practice also. Getting a tutor to correct your errors and your speaking would also be great. I spent about 3 months preparing for the exam with a brilliant tutor in Abuja. He was only used to TEF and I was his first ever TCF student but this man really helped me with EE & EO and always corrected my mistakes.

Hardwork, sacrifice and dedication, and I'm so glad it did pay off for you. This is definite encouragement for us just beginning.
Is ITA sure for you next draw or what? cheesy
ITA is sure for the next FSW draw. Although, they haven’t done any this year due to covid. But I’m happy to be patient smiley

Pls how much is tcf and how can i register
The exam costs 160k and is only written at Alliance Francaise, Port Harcourt. If you want to write, you'll have to contact them to send you their account number and registration form. If you're coming from outside Port harcourt like me, you will also need to set aside funds for hotel, flight and transportation. To me, it is all worth it because I strongly believe that TCF is better than TEF.

What Graciouswords said.

Hearty Congratulations Cutebear. Glad the hard work all paid off. Seriously eyeing that TCF now.
Care to share your journey(if you haven't already) and any wise words for we the unwritten?
My story is long o.... if I start, I won't finish. Before learning about the EE program, I already had basic French knowledge from a French school I attended due to a natural interest in the language. So I decided to write IELTS in 2019 and I've been in the pool for almost 2 years with 432 score. Since then, I've been learning French on my own by reading books, listening to podcasts and watching YouTube videos everyday. The pandemic was also a blessing in disguise because I spent all that time at home learning & improving. I think my biggest improvement happened between Feb 2021 & May 2021 when I began preparations for the TCF exam. My level really took a huge leap.
Seeing this 500 score seems like a dream but honestly, it required a lot of hard work, sacrifices & dedication.

Well worth all your sacrifice........Congratulations & well done!

PS: this is my first time seeing a TCF result sheet.....not everytime TEF smiley
Exactly! People keep running away from TCF but I compared the two exams and immediately knew that TEF was not for me. Although, TCF is only written in Port Harcourt, travelling there was definitely worth it because I knew what my goal was.

Hello Everyone, I wrote my TCF Canada exam today at Alliance Française in Port Harcourt.
Here are my questions
E.E
1. Respond to your friend that just got his Canada visa and has requested that you help him find an hotel (You describe the hotel etc)
2. Write on your blog about a film/concert you watched with your friends and explain why you liked it.
3. Write an article on “friendly relationship at the office”

E.O
1. Talk about yourself + the examiner will ask you some questions about your life (future plans etc)
2. I am a baby sitter (the examiner) and you are looking for someone to take care of your children after school . Ask several questions to decide if you will take the person or not
3. “It is not advised to buy a phone for a child” What do you think about this topic?

There have been no FSW draws for approx 5 months and it's anyone's guess when they'll resume but PNP draws continue to occur at least fortnightly....this is the reason for suggesting you look in French PNP programs.

However if you don't mind waiting till whenever FSW draws resume, it's all good.
Oh okay, I understand. I’m in no rush for now though. I’m willing to wait till Aug - Oct for the next FSW draw. Especially since PNP will restrict me to live in that one particular province for 2 years. If I could have the option of choosing any province freely that would be preferable.
At the end of the day, I pray it’s God’s plan for me that will prevail.

I like the bit in bold. You may want to start looking out for PNPs that favour French.

How did you find CO? Most people have found that section more difficult than TEF. Any CO tips for people yet to decide on which exam to take?
I won’t need PNP if I pass the exam because I’m in my 20s. I think the CO was okay, as long as someone knows french and is concentrated, it would be fine. Of course, it’s always best to quickly read the options before it plays.

Hello fam, good evening. Please a friend’s result just came out. And we’d like to know how many points this will give in the EE pool
The person passed. You guys should calculate it online. There are several CRS point calculators on the internet.

Wow, congrats! The questions are similar to IELTS but more difficult.

How did it go, did you attempt all questions? Also, how long have you been learning French?
Thank you! All questions are compulsory, so I did everything! I personally find TCF a lot easier than TEF and that’s why I chose it. I believe the exam went well and if I don’t get good results I would be really surprised.
I’ve been on & off french for the past few years and passively reading & watching YouTube videos for fun. I basically taught myself most of the french I know but I got a tutor to prepare me for the exam and brush up my knowledge to be more refined. I used 3 months to prepare for the exam smiley

It's computer-base at PH, you can call the center to ask for more information
Okay because I called the customer service lady in PH and she said TEF is computer based while TCF is paper based. Now I'm confused huh

I wrote TEF at PH today, network was wacky. Just be ready to encounter same during your test.
TCF Canada exam is paper based so I guess it won't depend on the internet. Hopefully!

I'll be travelling to Port Harcourt next month to write the TCF Canada exam. I've been preparing for the exam with a private tutor since February.
I made the decision to write TCF instead of TEF because it seemed easier to me. I'll keep you guys updated on my endeavours as I go through the final 1 month of preparation for the exam smiley

Yes, it was, many thanks to elders of this thread

It was physical class

In my opinion, physical class is 50% tutor, 50 % personal efforts while online class is 25% tutor, 75 % personal efforts.

My "exam experience" was similar to the one shared by Framaro and asusfanatics.

My questions
CE
Normandie
Magazine Elle
7 et 97
Estival
Facilite
Apart from the long texts, other questions were totally new.

CO 047 (only OGs would understand)

EE
dans un monde moderne. Le magasin ne devrait jamais fermer

A man that just retired was sharing money and a passerby called the police...

Here is my timeline, it isn't ideal because of Covid

Joined IEF November last year till mid march because of covid angry. I moved to self study, my speaking wasn't good so I started searching for people to speak with got a few from different countries. Also paid a friend/tutor just to speak with her. Read schaum's grammar, French verb drills, TEF 250 ( all these books are available on this thread) also scanned through Alter ego B1, B2 and C1.

My friends and I started speaking almost everyday around April/May, ( my secret to speaking smiley ). I also got another tutor to correct my writing and speaking. Returned to IEF in June for B2 but left after like 3 days, I felt I don't really need it, went back for TEF class in July. Did several speaking sessions with Mamaroon and monsieur Fabguen, was certified okay and we eventually moved to writing, they gave a lot of advise and tips which really helped (Thank you very much for your selfless service, I so much appreciate). Left IEF again in July as I felt I really needed to focus on my writing, traffic wasn't also helping, so I continued with my previous tutor, she corrected my speaking and writing.
Ayande do send recent EE questions which I usually answer and she correct (Thank you very much, words can't express how grateful I am to you guys )

Wrote the exam in September, result came out after about 20 days.

Just to add
I focused more on writing and speaking because the pass rate is low especially writing, it's the French that you know that would help(and grace), no shortcut unlike the other two.

Read the long text for reading and listening more than 6 times. For longtext, there are different editions, same questions but different answers, I used the long text on TEF academie

The Ogas of this thread have already given a lot of tips, you can click on their moniker to read them.

TEF gave me 48 points, Wes and Unilorin has been passing me to each other but not really bothered since my CRS score is now 491
Please what do you think is a good price for private speaking classes? My main problem is speaking....I have no problem with listening & reading...my writing is okay and can easily be improved but this speaking is such a huge issue for me. Institut Français in Abuja is telling me N4,700 per hour (I know they are very good with tutoring in that school). But I’m wondering if that amount is too much. I had lessons with another tutor for 3,700 for 2 hours 3 times a week but to be honest, he wasn’t a great tutor. Do you think my speaking lessons should be at least 2 hours daily with a tutor? Or 1 hour is okay.

Please I just went on tuteria.com looking for a French tutor in Abuja and the budget i'm expected to spend is between 88k-177k per month depending on the experience of the tutor. This will be for 2 hours lesson every weekday. My sister said it's too pricey but i'm really having a hard time finding a good tutor in Abuja. Please help
TravelRe: All TEF Candidates For Canada Immigration, Let's Meet Here! by cutebear:
Bonjour tout le monde!!! I've been passively learning french for almost 2 years now (off & on) mainly because I love the language. I've decided that I want to use this knowledge for something positive.
My french level of knowledge is pretty good. I read extensive novels in french and I listen to french podcasts and watch a lot of french youtubers without using subtitle and i'm able to understand at least 80% of what they say.
The only thing is that speaking & writing isn't easy for me as I noticed its harder to produce information than to consume.

With intensive tutoring & practice, could it be possible for me to write the TEF exam by December?

Also, I think getting a private tutor to focus on my personal needs would be better than attending a school if I want to accelerate my learning.
PLEASE where can I get a private french tutor in Abuja?
Also, i'm open to advice and suggestions.
