Of course they need a letter of invitation from the child.
thaIgbochick:
Hello everyone. Please I have a question. For parents coming over to UK to visit, how do they go about it? Do they need a letter of invitation? Any advise is welcome please.

Also, has anyone who applied for a student visa on January 14th heard anything?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cutebear: 8:38pm On Jan 26, 2022
Why not just improve your finances? As someone who has been working for many years, the ECO won’t be surprised to see several millions in your account. So, even if your budget for the trip is 1.2 million, it shouldn’t be a problem if you have enough savings and properties. Also, don’t forget the ECO expects you to also have a substantial amount of savings left to take care of your family when you return.

In my opinion, you need to relax and reevaluate your economic/financial profile because with all the explanations you’ve been giving since, your application doesn’t sound convincing enough that you plan to return to Nigeria.
You can also decide to build your travel history and even tour other countries in the meantime.

There's nothing wrong with having an opening balance higher than your salary. Who is financing her trip? Are you the one or is she the one? Hope there is adequate proof of financial solvency.
Kaystace:
Hi everyone been ff for a while and the advice here is priceless .
So sorry this might be a bit long
I am a bit confused about something and need a bit of advice pls, My mum is applying for a 2yr visa and has her biometrics 2mao ,she currently earns about 350k per month , after printing her statement starting august , opening balance was about 800k which is obviously above her salary (a combination of some money left from July and a gift ) the statement doesn’t show the deposit as it was done in July but it shows that most of the money was spent and regular sal paid in as usual afterwards, I am concerned they might question why she had an opening balance higher than her sal. Do you advice we keep it as it is or submit a 5months statement to keep it clean.

PS: her trip is not being funded from her sal, it will be funded from her savings paid into the account which has documents to back it up.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cutebear: 3:00pm On Jan 26, 2022
You guys are not being realistic. I've explained everything that needs to be explained. You don't know that these ECOs think far and wide. If you are serious about getting the visa, start reading from at least page 400 of this page so that you can learn from people's mistakes.
Instead of learning from several refusals, why not learn from people's stories on this thread.

@Switch900 you are single and you claim to earn 300k on a monthly basis. Your account balance should be healthy and you should be able to FULLY sponsor yourself for a trip to the UK since you earn very much above the average Nigerian. Also, don't even try to claim that you plan on just sitting down in your cousin's house in the Uk because it sounds unrealistic.

larade16:
Is he suppose to pay for rent and buy food in his cousin’s house?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cutebear: 1:53pm On Jan 26, 2022
You're an adult who earns 300k monthly. This is above the average Nigerian salary. So why in the world is your cousin sponsoring your trip?? Even if your cousin adds his account statement, this is a red flag. Your story is just strange bro. I'm not an ECO and I'm not even convinced by your story & profile undecided
switch900:

uote author=giselle237 post=109703714] oh my. That’s strange. Well. What was the purpose of your trip? You said family visit… pls explain this part…thank you.
U will have to reapply later, just dnt go now and look desperate.
I saw your explanation to cutebear. What documents did your cousin provide to support this application?

I actually submitted in Nov 8 hoping to see him and hes new family after about 10years he left Nigeria and hoping to attend a family traditional wedding with him,he gave an invitation letter is BRP some of the receipt of is bills payment biometrics page showing stay to leave in the UK and am not going with family just only me oo my budget was only to buy a ticket since cousin has stated in his letter that he would be responsible for upkeep while in the UK.how much do you think I should put in my next application as my salary is 300k or can I sum it up to 700k?.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cutebear: 12:28pm On Jan 26, 2022
Go and open a business account, keep receipts & invoices of payments etc. ECOs will not answer all this explanation
Carim19:
@cutebear
I don’t have business account for my tailoring but the business is registered last year April
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cutebear: 11:57am On Jan 26, 2022
Separate both accounts. Make sure your tailoring business account is in your business name. Make sure your business account can be fount on the CAC website and ensure that the status is showing Active.
Also submit a 6 months statement.
Don't rush to reapply. You need to strategize and keep your application as clean and simple as possible.
Carim19:
@cutebear, I have another account for savings o opened the account Simply because I’m using my personal account to receive my salary then,so because of my plans I decided to open a new account for my traveling of which I stated above that I have account I use for my tailoring.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cutebear: 11:35am On Jan 26, 2022
@Carim your finances and the deposits in the account statement you sent looks like you want to japa without returning.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cutebear: 11:31am On Jan 26, 2022
Please I want to understand something based on your account statement. You are employed and you earn 300k but from the beginning of your statement, you never had savings? You don't have another account for savings? You just started getting your salary now?
How long have you been working? Did you just get this job? because it is strange that 6 months ago, you had almost 0 savings and within 3 months, your account grew to N1.3 million. It looks very strange. You never had money and then all of a sudden, over 3 months, your account started growing to 1.3 million. This looks very strategic.
You only gave 3 months statement starting from september. This isn't even enough to determine your financial standing.
Let me give an example. When I submitted my salary account, it had only about 250k balance but I've had transactions of over 7 million in the account. I earn 450k monthly (and I get other benefits in millions yearly) BUT i have a savings dollar account. The balance started with $12k and the closing balance is $11k....This is the account I plan to fund my trip from.

Carim19:
I have no large sum of money in my account except for my salary,I also have a side hustle (tailoring) which I use to maintain myself
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cutebear: 10:23am On Jan 26, 2022
It’s not just that. There are unexplained deposits in your bank account. Before application, you are supposed to go through your bank statement to make sure that there aren’t other large deposits in your account apart from your salary. If there are large deposits, you are meant to determine the sources of these funds and then address it in a cover letter to the ECO with proof of the source of the funds.
If you want to avoid explanation, then you should keep your bank account very clean and free of large deposits for 6 months. Personally, I had to move my biometrics date forward by 2 extra weeks when I discovered I had over N4 million deposits from my crypto investments and I didn’t want to explain it to the ECO in order to avoid wahala. The deposits were early in my statement so I only needed to wait for 2 weeks for it to clear.
Also, what was your bank balance as at submission? The ECO said you are travelling with your family….if that means wife and children, you are meant to have a substantial amount of money for them too. If it’s your siblings/parents then, that doesn’t matter
Then there is the problem of your budget. Why would you budget 500k for your trip when flight ticket to UK costs around 400k. Then you plan on staying for 14 days. How will you pay for your hotel? Even if you’re staying with family, you will still need to buy food out, go on tours, do a bit of shopping, use transportation. Even taxi from airport to London will cost nothing less than 40-60k
You need to do some serious work on your finances, bank account, budget, savings, investments etc. Because it really looks like you want to Japa without returning.
switch900:
Hello how do I address this I think the main thing is that the 500k I budgeted for is too small for this visit it's a family visit
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cutebear: 10:07am On Jan 26, 2022
You can't say "little left in your account". That is not enough! Imagine someone spending 50-80% of their life savings just for a holiday. It doesn't make sense to these ECOs and they have explained this several times in the refusal letters we have been seeing on this thread. A substantial amount should be left in the account UNLESS the person has other monetary investments or property investments. Finance is literally the #1 reason why most people have been getting denied on this thread.
Osoderi:

Run away from him ooo. Your salary is good enough, your 1.9M Is perfect provided u estimate your budget like flight ticket, accommodation, feeding and shopping..every thing might be 800k, u are good to go and little left in your account as proof u are not using all your money to travel
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cutebear: 10:02am On Jan 26, 2022
See, it depends on your budget. I know people are saying 1.9million is enough but its like a lot of you have forgotten that many people on this thread have gotten refused because the ECO doubts that the applicant will have enough money to continue their lives in Nigeria when they return from their trip. Also, I hope that 1.9 million in your account wasn't recently deposited. If you have bulk amounts in your bank account within the last few months, it will look like you're trying to inflate your bank balance and that will lead to straight denial. Make sure that the only large deposits in your account is your salary and if there are large deposits, you will have to explain the source of the funds in a cover letter and show proof of your claims.
I also recommend your travel duration to be no more than 7-10 days and your trip budget should be no more than GBP1,500.
Also, do you have a travel history? That is always an advantage.

Carim19:
Good morning
My name is carim I’m new here. I’m planning to apply for a uk tourist visa, I earned 300k per month but I got promoted last month with increment of 150k (450k) per month expecting this January.my available balance is 1,055,000 but by ending of February salary it should be 1.9M (September-February)
I spoke with my lawyer this evening she said 1.9m is too small for tourist visa, that’s y I signed up to seek for opinions
Thank so much Guys
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cutebear: 9:53am On Jan 26, 2022
It's not just about your salary. There are many other factors to consider. People earning much more get denied and some people earning less get approved. Everyone's case is different.
Kindly give us your general profile. Age, marital status, do you have children? the amount of money you have in savings, if you have any investment like land, property or other fixed investments, your travel history, how much you plan to spend in the uk.

Carim19:

Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cutebear: 9:45am On Jan 26, 2022
No need to explain business transactions going through your personal account. I said make sure ALL your business transactions go through your business account and ensure your personal account is clean. The simpler your application, the better for you. Just let everything be clear as day.

Of course!!! You need to separate your business earnings from your personal earnings. This is one of the top reasons people are denied here. If you have 2 different business, open the 2 business accounts and let ALL business transactions go through those accounts.
Your personal account is what will be receiving your monthly salary.
ummys:
Thnk you.i submitted my personal account statement. No lodgedments of large deposit because there the same amount that i uave been making transaction for years.should i use my Both business and personal account next time?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cutebear: 1:29pm On Jan 25, 2022
Basically, the ECO believes that you lied about the income of your business. Also, there are large deposits in your personal bank account which portrays "money lodgment" in order to inflate your account balance before submission. Money lodgment is a major red flag. Your bank account has to show steady income and there shouldn't be large unexplainable deposits. If there are deposits for a particular reason, you're meant to explain it in a cover letter and also prove the source of the deposits.

You submitted your business bank account statement right? The ECO basically audited your account and discovered that you do not earn as much as you claim.
I recommend getting your business account audited by an accountant in order to determine your business income.
I also recommend that you keep a very clean personal bank account for the 6 months prior to your next application. You should only pay yourself monthly salary from your business account to your personal account every month on a particular day each month.

Also, are your businesses registered with CAC? If they aren't it's another reason for denial when you reapply.
You need to know that these people will look for the smallest reason to deny you. Even when you address the issues of your past denial, they will look for another problem. The best you can do is to block all possible holes in your application and make it bullet proof.

You've already served your 10 years ban so your application should be vetted with less bias. BUT don't put all your hopes on UK. You should also try applying to Canadian schools. Canada's road to citizenship is even faster and more straight forward. So, keep an open mind.

Twooranges:
Greetings to all.

I am set to apply for UK student visa but I am afraid I had ban. I was given ban in the UK because they said I worked in access of 20 hours and therefore was given 10yrs ban which has ended in 2020. I worked for more than 20 hrs but during my holiday but the immigration officer insisted. My school even rote to them and gave them my attendance which was upto date and told them that I was doing well in school yet they insisted. I left the matter and served and now it's over. I now want to apply for student visa and I have dependents now. Is the ban still going to affect my application?

Thank you so much

Kindly give more details about how much your business makes on a monthly & yearly basis. Is your company registered? If registered, do you also have a business bank account? If you have a business account, have you been paying yourself monthly salary every month from the business account?
A 75k salary job is obviously not enough to convince the ECO so your business needs to be bullet proof.
How much money do you have in your account and how much are you willing to spend for the trip?
Also, I hope you have gone through the last 6 months statement of your personal bank account. Hope there are no unexplainable large deposits.
These are some of the most recent reasons a lot of people on this thread have been denied visa.
Kindly answer the questions and we will continue the conversation from there.

You’re worrying about the wrong things lol! It’s not a big deal at all.

Ohh okay thanks. Being a first time traveler, that’s why I’m asking all these. And if I’m asked “where would you be staying” how do I answer that. You know if I’m to stay in an hotel, I’ll just tell them the name of the hotel and give the address. In the case where I’ll be renting an apartment, or already booked an apartment, what would be my answer. Thank you

Yes, I also plan on applying to some uk schools. All I know is that, I must sha go for my masters abroad this year. I can’t keep wasting my time in this country.

The bolded is very true.

Have you tried simulating your score, like using TCF as first language, using one or two years of experience, Ontario should do their French program before March

While also trying Canada student visa, you can also try that of UK because Canada rejection rate is a bit high
