diadem10: Twitter account allegedly loyal to APC indeed. That was how PDP made up propaganda about EFCC seizing Adeleke and Peter Obi account until it was proven to be lie. Yeye people.
Despite Buhari administration earning 60% less yet he's come up with plenty projects such as
Our railways at itakpewarri, Lagos-ibadan, kaduna-abuja etc,
The production of low cost fertilizers,
Zik maoseleum
Baro inland port,
Rice mills,
Foreign reserve increase from #26b to #43b,
Construction of our express highways such as enuguonitsha, Lagos-ibadan etc.
Social policy schemes such as tradermoni, npower etc
And most especially, stabilizing us through this recession which happened because jonathan failed to save despite earning 60% more than Buhari coupled with the fall in the price of crude oil from #110 per barrel in 5 years under Jonathan to a paltry #50 per barrel under Buhari administration yet Buhari was able to keep us afloat while having many projects to his name thereby surprising Ngozi Iweala and Charles Soludo who predicted recession because jonathan failed to save during the time of plentiful.
Sai Baba. PDP, Neva again Lame achievement. This pathetic scorecard has been copied and posted in every thread in Nairaland. When a government begins to claim construction of tombstone as an achievement, then you know it is finished for them |

MrMcJay: Amosun rubbish Tinubu? Lmaooooo It's obvious you are ignorant of Ogun State politics
Apc would win Ogun presidential election. Even the Pdp members in Ogun State are working for Buhari. Do you know that Osinbajo is from Ogun East where Pdp is strongest?
In Ogun East, PDP is fighting with Apc over who will deliver the highest votes to Buhari. In fact, it was in Ogun East they shouted Ole on Saraki the other day.
That's why the state PDP is sabotaging Atiku. Tinubu's press statement said it is PDP that infiltrated and disrupted the APC rally at Abeoukuta. Now here you are saying them PDP is sabotaging Atiku in the same state. This means Ogun people are either so naive or PDP must be so strong. Whichever it is, when you see a man blaming his shadow for following him about, then you know either he is mental or the end is near. Both are not palatable outcomes. The disgusting habit of APC blaming PDP for thier own self inflicted wounds is one key reason people are so pissed off with the APC government. It will hurt the party in this election. |

tesppidd: When a stampede happened during Atiku's rally
Wailers aka 5 percenters were very happy about it and claimed it was because of the "mammoth crowd"
They never condemned the near miss, instead they attributed it to love for Atiku.
Eeeeeeeeddiiiiiiiiiiooooooots It was a "near Miss" according to your language. Meaning the crowd was well managed and nobody died. Can you compare that to the shambolic performance we saw at APC rallies in Lagos, Ogun, Rivers and Kano? The fact that people criticise APC's poor crowd management doesn't necessarily mean they are pro or anti any party. It just shows their level of competence in running the country |
Politics › Re: Deaths At Rivers State APC Presidential Rally (Graphic Photos) by cuteboy2: 10:39pm On Feb 12, 2019 |
TruthinAction: This happens because of lack of proper organization. If they had taken proactive measures, it would not have happened. At least, there are two other campaigns that people died. They don't have crowd control management. Church Crusades organized by Christ Embassy have had larger crowd and not a single casualty. That is why I insist that APC cannot fix this nation. They know the problem but they don't have the solution. You are spot on. The day before Buhari came to campaign in Lagos all the fuel tankers that cause chronic traffic gridlock on Apapa road were mysteriously cleared. After, Buhari left, the tankers and gridlock resumed. They know what to do, but won't do it "to punish the citizens". That's how Business Day put it. |

So because Buhari was driven out of the stadium when people died trying to get out it is no longer APC rally? |

Those that also died in Taraba were leaving when Buhari arrived abi?
The crowd in Rivers was too much and at the end of the event, people were rushing to get home. If you watched the live telecast the entire rally was very shoddy. There was no message apart from lamentation of thier loss yesterday at the Supreme Court, abuse and threat of violence by Amaechi. There was no substance in the rally. People were despondent. They didn't even present a governorship candidate, even though Mr Cole was on the podium. The whole thing was pathetic Buhari didn't even finish speaking when when they started playing the National Anthem abruptly. People were already rushing out due the shambolic nature of the whole thing. They refused to keep the gate open so the stadium will not empty while people were delivery their empty speeches |

Politics › Re: Nigerian Soldiers Kill Boko Haram Terrorists, Retake Baga (Photos) by cuteboy2: 1:05am On Jan 11, 2019 |
omoowo8888: Special Forces of the Nigeria Army on Thursday killed hundreds of Boko Haram terrorists in massive clearance operations in Borno State.
The troops made up of Nigerian Army Special Forces, the Nigerian Navy Special Forces as well as the Nigerian Air Force Special Forces however lost an officer and a soldier during the clearance operations.
According to the Nigerian Army Spokesman, Brig. Gen Sani Usman, the operations which commenced on December 28, cleared several towns and villages of Boko Haram remnants.
Usman, in a statement, listed towns cleared as Zare, Gudumbali, Kukawa, and Cross Kauwa while troops have also taken control of Baga and are clearing the fringes of Lake Chad.
He lauded the troops for their gallantry in giving the terrorists a bloody nose, saying the Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole also gave maximum air support in dealing a devastating blow on the terrorists.
Brig Gen. Usman said: “In the determined efforts to wipe out remnants of Boko Haram terrorists that now goes by the appellation of Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP), the gallant troops of the newly formed Nigerian Army Special Forces Command (NASFC), Operation LAFIYA DOLE, have given the terrorists that attacked troops location in Baga a bloody nose.
“The triumphant troops, particularly the highly revered 707 Special Forces Brigade which is the vanguard of the great exploit, dealt the decisive blow that neutralised several terrorists along that axis despite prior warning to them by some unpatriotic elements.
“The Special Forces commenced clearance operations on 28th December 2018, where they cleared Zare, Gudumbali, Kukawa and Cross Kauwa without any resistance from suspected terrorists. However, at Cross Kauwa, the unfortunate ISWAP terrorists made a costly mistake of raising their ugly heads.
“In professional fashion the troops exploited the situation to instantly and decisively neutralise the insurgents and captured some equipment.
“Though some of the terrorists attempted to infiltrate troops camp at Monguno, the gallant troops lured them and neutralised many of them and recovered some arms and ammunition.
“The troops who are in high spirit had since linked up with other forces in Baga where they cleared the Naval Base and the surrounding areas.
“Unfortunately, in the process, the Special Forces lost one officer and a soldier, while five other soldiers sustained injuries.
“The remains of the two fallen heroes and the wounded have since been evacuated.
“The injured soldiers are in stable condition and receiving medical attention.
“The troops are busy consolidating and clearing vestiges of the terrorists within the northern Borno State axis with special emphasis on the Lake Chad region.”
http://thenationonlineng.net/964450-2/ 1. The write up looks like a carefully manufactured story. Very artificial kung-fu tale meant for primary school children 2. If the government has been busy boasting that not a single inch of Nigerian territory is under the control of ISIS or ISWAP, then which countries do those towns listed and Baga (which has JTF command headquarters) belong to? Are those towns in Chad? 3. Those 2 soldiers in the 3rd picture seem not very pleased being asked to pose near the installed sign on the wall. 4. If they killed so many ISIS fighters and liberated so many towns, how come they can only display 3 rifles and 2 bullet proof jacket? Where there only 3 ISWAP insurgents holding all those towns they liberated? If no where are the bodies of all the fighters they killed. 5. Where are all the ISWAP/ISIS soldiers they claimed were neutralised? Abi the Nigerian Army just made them to evaporate just like in kung-fu films? Lies will not kill this our mumu government. Anyway kudos to our gallant troops for making the enemy fighters to evaporate |

Godlylifeoneart: NIGERIANS are daydreaming their way to a poorer future by keeping too great a portion of their investments in NIGERIA despite massive underperformance of NSE indices, Skyrocketing cost of living and a future which looks equally bleak for those trying to grow or even just preserve their wealth. It's time for Nigerians to invest with their heads, not their hearts. I am advising young investors to invest as much of their money as they can elsewhere in the world. I do not see a single reason why people should keep any discretionary investable funds in this country.
People should keep their house and their pension as their only assets here if they live in Nigeria . But the rest should be invested in hard currency assets that will protect their buying power, which has already been deeply eroded.
Nigeria is now in its longest downward business cycle since the inception of NSE and the performance of its assets continues to reflect this unfortunate reality.
The Naira has lost its value against the US dollar in the past five years and remains under pressure. Investors in Nigerian equities have lagged developed markets, while prices of commodities have increased at less than half the rate of inflation for several years.
The S&P 500, for example, has delivered a total return of nearly 100percent in the past five years, the Nasdaq 147percent and even the 10-year Treasury bond a return of 12percent. The total return in Naira for the Nigerian general equity market over the same period is just nudging 11 to 21percent versus a 131percent total return of the MSCI World Index, also in Naira . But the Nigerian general equity market return rebased to US dollars is down 30 percent. Many popular Equities are also showing negative dollar returns over five years.
A contributor on Nairaland investment forum has seen a sharp uptick in the numbers of nairalanders who are worried about the future here and want to protect their wealth for their families not for the polithievcians.
Despite already being in a downward trajectory , Nigeria is marching on with plans to elect Atiku or the incumbent both of which will spell further doom for the economy, Atiku party has even promised to revert pump price of petrol to N79/litre (suicidal economy promises) while carrying on with an economic and industrial policy which will only make things worse for the country - potentially leading to further rating downgrades, a bailout and sustained or increased high unemployment, further borrowing from IMF, World Bank , CHINESE BANKS and other Lenders. NIGERIANS are in a "day- dreaming denial" instead of taking hard action.
Much of the advice we read on this forum does not reflect the reality of Nigeria today. People deriving unrealistic FA and TA with fictitious datas. For instance, it is a long-held belief that local investors and traders should JIJO while some opined on long-term (myself included) . Being completely independent I will advise local investors to move 30% to 50% of portfolio offshore. (Not traders) I am banging the table on this one and saying get your money out.
I am advising potential investors to put money in the US despite many predictions that the markets there have run so hard a steep correction is imminent.
The US is the most dynamic, innovative economy in the world. And despite stock price gyrations, for the longer-term investor I think being exposed to many of the world's best companies is a far better play than investing 100% of your investable funds in NSE .
@AGBALOWOMERI.... DZ OPINION IS DEDICATED FOR YOUR INSIGHT AND DEEP UNDERSTANDING OF NSE. I HOPE YOU CAN POT TO NYSE FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL.. LOL Nice guidance and perpective. Why is Tunde Ayeni's name (former MD of now dead Skye Bank) missing from the AMCON list? Ayeni used his position as Skye bank chairman to take massive insider loans totaling N70b.
He is also indebted to other banks to the tune of N80b. Hence, his total indebted to Nigerian banks is in excess of N150b.
All his loans which he used to purchase Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, Yola Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company and Nitel/Mtel, private jets and yatchs are distressed. Yet his name is missing because he is strongly connected to Bola Tinubu.
To keep the old Skye Bank affloat (now renamed Polaris Bank), CBN had to inject tax payers money to the tune of N786 billion. Meanwhile Ayeni is strutting the landscape a free man and enjoying his loot with his political friends.
