Also, add GMATClub to your list. You might not be going for an MBA but I admire the way you acknowledge networks as a key driver of success. In other words, you sound like an MBA student. GMATClub will give you tips on networking.
Goodluck in your applications Thanks alot Bracelum, yeah i also joined GMAT club last year, it has been a great networking experience. I had an unofficial call interview from one of the graduate officers which i met on GMAT club. Which went awesome (his words) and hopefully it leads to a nice scholarship package when i apply in October. Interacting with the outside world as so much opened my eyes to alot of things. |

MasterforceII: Hi guys. I think this may have been asked before but I'll appreciate an answer still.
Does the consular have access to information on the schools and the particular program one applies to?
I applied for a mix of MBA and MSc (Electrical) programs and was admitted to some of these programs. I'll be processing my Visa for the MSc program as I had pushed my MBA till a much later time since I wasn't able to secure as much scholarship as I had hoped for the MBA.
Now I'm worried that if this information is made available, it could be flagged or something. If the VO asks for the schools I applied to, do I omit the schools I applied to for the MBA? Do I list all the schools I applied to?
I hope im not being unnecessarily paranoid. Just trying to be cautious. you are being paranoid bro just list all the schools you applied for MSc. What school have you decided to go for? Also, did you receive any funding? |

This is Javale's fifteenth season in the league and this is the season he has averaged his highest points per game, 12.0, and he's doing it at 23 minutes per game. You say warriors. Kingsman01: So I had my interview today for 6:30am. After reading on Nairaland how the VOs resume to work much later and my Uber guy saying the VOs don’t resume till 7am or 8am, I just felt relaxed. I arrived by 7am thereabout. I was getting worried as two youths I asked were on B1/B2 so I became anxious that my lateness may pose a problem to me. Well as I was carrying out my screening and biometrics, I just dey see coded blue paper issuance to people. I wasn’t that bothered although I was somewhat tensed tho. I read a lot about composure on this forum so I maned up. It got to my turn and the following exchange took place: The VO was an American guy in black suit( can’t remember the window) VO: Good morning Me: Good Morning( we exchanged pleasantries well) VO: where are you going to? Me: I am going to National University, San Diego, California to Study the Master of Public Health with a concentration in HealthCare Administration, starting with the English language learning. I will be working with Joseph Lanctot, Chair of the National University Planetree committee on community-wide volunteer opportunities(vo cuts in) VO: why National University? (I think I asked him to say again, not sure tho. He repeats the question) Me: (paused for a mini sec) The school of health and human services is currently successful in an ongoing research project specifically in the area I am most interested in, that is the Person-centered care model of health treatment. This has made National University the first academic institution in the world to pursue and achieve the planetree recognition. Upon completion of the master degree program, I intent to come back to Nigeria and work with the relevant health authorities to introduce this model of health treatment to the Nigerian healthcare sector(VO cuts in) VO: what do you do for work? Me: I am an administration officer with **** and the core of my responsibilities includes(I briefly highlighted my duties at work as filled in my application); first aid maintenance, Solid waste management, water treatment analysis, routine fumigation and pesticide control, etc. I also ensure compliance to Health, Safety and Environment health laws and regulations in maintenance of Fire hydrant and portable fire extinguisher, safe keeping of harmful and designated equipments, bla bla bla(at the point of my finishing, VO cuts in) VO: who is sponsoring you? Me: My uncle(mentioned his name and profession with the ********** in Los Angeles for 22 years.) VO: are you married? Me: No sir VO: do you have any children? Me: none(in my mind I was becoming happy that this may be it(White paper lol) as most delayed interviews don’t get to sponsorship questions. VO: Started Typing for long ohhhhhh( he didn’t even look at my face at this time). I was just hopishly smiling at his face. Quickly, he brought out the blue paper and told me I do not qualify for the VISA at this time. This paper will explain why. Na so I gently Comot.
Please house I already submitted my DS-160 before I resigned effective 28th February, 2019. Could this be a possible cause for my Visa denial
Had I known this thread a long time ago, my case would have been different but I guess we sometimes learn and become better by mistakes.

heeedreeez: Are there any loan organizations without co-signer apart from Prodigy finance and MPower? there is stilt.com but they have some restrictions. Have you tried other funding/scholarship alternatives in your school? 3rd party funders? Church? (If you are a Christian and have some influencers in your church) etc. Exhaust all your options as loans should be your final resort. Also, although people don’t want to think about this but there is always next year too in which you can look for schools that provide funding/ tweak your profile to be more competitive for funding/assistantship opportunities. Whatever option you take, be it loans or otherwise, I wish you the very best and I hope it all spans out well. |

Lmaooo una relationship was symbiotic tbh. exactly, his demeanor has been subpar lately...He has this brusque attitude I have noticed. I really think he would leave...it was fun while it lasted maybe we pay boogie the max, keep the core and let KD go and get a solid SF! We will be alright |

Scholastica16: Do you know that the capital of Somalia is Mogadishu? I have also made a correct statement as well but guess what: it does not answer your own post above. That is the difference between posting correct but extraneous information and answering the question put at you.
If the poster asked: will my low test scores affect my chances of getting an internship or a job? The answer will be yes, for some jobs. (I said it here before it started posting). But was that the question? No. The question was about low GRE scores and this person is wondering if it will be a stigma on him going forward.
My question to you is, how can something be a stigma to me if I can do without it? Let me ask a comparative question to show clarity. Will a low undergrad GPA affect my chances of getting into Harvard? The difference between the 2 questions is, whether Harvard accepts you or not, you are bound to include your undergrad GPA but for the former, you can make that application without even including the low GRE at all.
The implication is, the low GPA will definitely be a factor in their decision-making because they must of necessity see it, but the low GRE on the other hand does not because you can take it out of your application and replace it with something else.
So here is a slight re-enactment of the logic; Will my low GPA affect my chances of getting into grad school? Yes, it will because most schools have minimum requirements which they adhere strictly to and you must include it in your application....
Will my low GRE affect my chances of getting into grad school? No, because you can (apply to schools who do not require it, retake it, or submit another test score that is acceptable to them) so they would not even get to see it.
Synopsis, Can low test scores affect...yes they can for certain jobs that require it. Can low GRE affect, no it won't because you can submit something else. Test scores are compared to GPA here being fixtures for some jobs. GRE is not a fixture here because it can be replaced.
Jeez you know the beautiful thing is that we all mean well and the end result is actually geared towards helping the person(the OP) as best as we can. I think we should all move pass this. I also know when the OP reads all the contributions here he/she would have gotten his/her answer which would enable him/her make the necessary decision. |

Scholastica16: As soon as you have been admitted into a University, your GRE score does not matter. It is just like asking what role UTME score plays in getting an internship or a job in Nigeria. Nigeria isn’t the USA .... bracelum explains it beautifully. bracelum: It affects you if you're going to strategy/management consulting or investment banking. Some consulting firms like MBB, AT Kearney, BAH, Oliver Wyman (I think) look at your GMAT score. Yes, they prefer GMAT to GRE for those strategy consulting roles. Investment banks too do the same but if you network well, they might overlook it. Some of my MBA friends retook the GMAT either before they started their MBAs or during their first terms just before consulting recruitment started in October-December/January. Big 4 consulting firms do not really care about your GRE score. However, their consulting practices are not as prestigious as MBB. Also for entry-level analyst roles, some consulting firms ask for SAT or ACT scores and for graduate students with no SAT scores, they usually seek for GMAT/GRE scores. However, your chances of an analyst position in top consulting firms is very slim for a graduate student with >1 year work experience. But if you're targeting tech firms, they don't really bother about your GRE/GMAT and GPA. Big 4 consulting firms do not really bother about your GRE/GMAT. That is the whole gist. It depends on your career path https://www.qsleap.com/gmat/resources/role-of-gmat-score-in-management-consulting-recruitment |

Once you are in. .... job dont ask about your scores MBA is quiet different, your gre/gmat is important especially if you want to further your career consulting!Even the school matters for MBA in terms of consulting |
