You are wrong, You must provide the TIN number. Filling the form and telling upwork you are not a US citizen is not enough, in fact, you can't go on without providing your TIN, it is a new thing on Upwork, you cant withdraw all US earnings without it and you have a deadline to do so, else, you will dash the US government a huge chunk of your money.

Anybody can claim they don't have anything to do with the US, how do you expect upwork to agree to that? the only way is to provide a valid and matching TIN number with your name, and if you are not a Nigerian with a NIN and some other requirements, you cant have a TIN number.

LOL, I'll never be caught sending money to an individual here before seeing an item, except the seller has overtime built credibility. I do make my research before even contacting any, moreover, I don't buy often here. Can't even remember the last time I bought here.

I realized he took that particular item down from the items he posted for sell this morning.

Maybe he sold it already after we scheduled a meeting or whatever, it's his decision, my only problem is that it was wrong to suddenly stop replying for days and finally not pick calls again. If it is sold already, give the person you scheduled a meeting with a heads up, imagine I was coming from very far just for the item? Imagine the waste of time and money it would have been.

My own be say I saw an item I liked, so I decided to buy it since I will be going around that area for a job for 2 days, so I hit up the seller and bargained, we agreed on a price and to meet Sunday, fortunately, I was also passing by on Saturday afternoon, I sent a message Friday night on the possibility of picking up on Saturday instead of Sunday, delivered but but no response, so I called and seller said we should leave it till Sunday, the Sunday which was my last day in that area, I sent a message in the morning, delivered but no response, I wasn't bothered since we already agreed on Sunday and a time. When that time came, I was around the area waiting, called and called, rang but no response, sent whatsapp messages, delivered, seller online but no response still. The thing come taya me sef, if you change your mind about selling, no biggie, but please don't arrange a meeting with a buyer and ghost the person, makes zero sense.

It is both for individual and businesses, as long as you have an NIN, I did mine in the evening and got it the next morning, totally online and free. Would have made a tutorial on it today but today was a busy day for me and can't start doing anything, but hopefully tomorrow.

Don't get it wrong, I am in no way saying I am rejoicing at seeing people struggle, never, I never said it was easy for me either, it's hours and hours of labor with back pains, and yes, my text is filled with account numbers, so I help when I can. All I am trying to say is that irrespective of whatever is happening around me, I still will give God thanks because I know it is not my doing, I do help out to Raise the few I can too. So I am not in any way rejoicing, I am only saying mine is not as bad as others.

I don't transact with any declutter page that doesn't have a face, that is number 1,secondly, I scrutinize the page very well, spotting a scam page on Instagram is very easy, but most people don't take the time to properly dig before paying.

I check the name of the payment account, if it is not an official business account with the declutter page's name, or it is opay, kuda, or any of these 1 minute ready account, I'm not buying.

I check the number on truecaller, nairaland and Google.

Again, most legit declutter pages relate personally on some posts with their customers, ie, they post or give updates about their lives once in a while, maybe birthday, anniversary or something, if it isn't there, and they don't have a physical address, then be careful, lastly, most legit declutter pages follow themselves, if you know a few legit ones and you discover that they are not following the new page you are about transacting with, or any logistics company, then RUN.

You make payment, he sends you sellers address, you go and check item and verify that you are fine with it, then you call him there and ask him to release funds to the seller, he sends it, deal done.

If you are not satisfied with the item at inspection, you can reject and ask for a refund and he will refund you.

I just picked up what I got from him yesterday and on my way home now.

Am just reading up there now about someone been scammed of 20k. It's so unfortunate some scammers fail to realize that the money no go do them anything. I have been marketing items on this nairaland for three good years despite me having my regular job,I still do this as a side hustle and I have made loads of friends on here. Trust me honesty pays and no matter what you do be honest about it infact if no one believes you, your conscience go clean and you no go panic if anything happen.
