Business › Re: US To Assist Nigeria On Nuclear Power by CyberG: 11:16pm On Mar 24, 2010
1. To use the kinetic energy possessed by flowing water to generate, Nigeria failed and is failing! How many MW do we have now?
2. To produce electricity from natural gas, Nigeria is failing!
3. To boil water until it turns into steam using coal, natural gas, etc to power steam turbines to produce electricity, Nigeria failed!
4. To use renewable sources of energy like wind and solar, Nigeria (as a country) has not begun!
5. To manufacture simple consumer goods (like tissue paper, kitchen utensils, simple tools) to appreciable quality, Nigeria still waiting!
6. To run all its national systems like PHCN, Water Corporation, NITEL, INEC, EFCC, Railways, Shipping, Airline. . .we know the story!

BUT all of a sudden the failing country in several simpler issues of life NOW will build and operate a NUCLEAR POWER PLANT? Hahaha. . .like this has anything to do with people having Ph.D's in Nuclear Engineering or Nuclear Physics! Since ordinary accidents have been claiming several hundreds per month in Nigeria, nothing has really changed! The roads in fact are getting worse, hospitals are getting "worser", Highway Patrol is taking more bribes, FRSC is collecting more illegal toll from road users. . .and when disaster happens, then all the officials become "anonymous" or cannot comment until they have been briefed! That is when phone calls / text messages sent to their phones are not answered! Yet, NIGERIA wants NUCLEAR POWER?? What of Nigeria's security situation? A time bomb waiting to go off just will get a big help from Boko Haram or some al-majiri terrorist! What a smart way to make a nuke and turn it on yourself. . .Nigeria! Is a nuclear explosion something you can dodge from? Like quickly run inside your house and hide under the bed? Or, enter your car and drive very fast before it gets to you??

Nigeria, your choice but this will be one way Nigeria will successfully kill a lot of its citizens most of them too poor to care if this is built right in their backyard!
Foreign Affairs › Re: Obama Signs The Healthcare Bill by CyberG: 10:00pm On Mar 24, 2010
In fact, a lot of people have been very patient (indeed) explaining to Platinum. . .the very issue she is struggling to properly comprehend! Look, everything you NEED to know to understand the bill is in IN THE BILL! Turn of that goddamned, godforsaken FOX-evil-shi.t NEWS that you have been reading like a bible or are you insane like those wingnuts? Do you know how it feels to parrot bull-shit so much that it begins to sound like the truth to you? That is what those ass.holes including you sound when you talk about things you refused to let your brains understand!

For your information, the US is far, far away from anything significant in good healthcare systems, based on worldwide rankings! US is rated #37 while Canada is rated #30! Before reading the list, I would have suggested Canada would be between 1 and 10, for the healthcare system is REALLY that GOOD! So, if you have no clue what you are talking about, don't go trying to indoctrinate us with that NONSENSE from FOX NOISE!

See http://www.photius.com/rankings/healthranks.html for worldwide healthcare rankings.

Romance › Re: Signs To Know When A Girl Is Cheating On You by CyberG: 9:15pm On Mar 22, 2010
MRbrownJAY:
i will have to disagree on a few points you made:

if she had a bunch of male friends before she met you then she will still have them AFTER therefore she will receive a lot  of call from them. if you are insecure and expect her to stop having friends because she is dating you then you better get a grip on life.

some men are very good at pretending to be someone else just to get some girls so eventually these girls will know who you truly are and therefore will find the faults in you/with you. do you expect her to not say anything and stick with you? do you think you can find these faults on the first dates?

although it can be true, it is not ALWAYS right! some women are strong individuals who do not follow what their friends are doing to the T. maybe they are school friends and she likes them for who they are and NOT what they are doing. if they smoke igbo, doesnt mean that your girl will automatically do so but also doesnt mean that they are automatically "bad friends". . . . . . . .  they are just good friends who smoke igbo.
what these girls do in their private lives is their problems and as long as they dont impose their lifestyles unto your girl then its all good!

it doesnt mean that she is cheating but it surely means that she is a tease keeping her options wide open and that you aint IT. also some women like male attention, it makes them feel desirable, reminds them that they still got it. . . . . . . and in 9ja, it gets them great gifts from these guys.
the catch is: what do they do afterwards?

if she has gotten juicy gifts from them then its possible that NOTHING has happened thus the reason why these guys keep calling.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!, may i ask:"how old are you?"

whats wrong in playing games in relationship as long as you know your boundaries?! games can be good, it keeps men(and women) guessing, willing to discover,on their toes and focused!!!!

there is always a "reason" to cheat, might not be right for you but there is a plausible reason to that person.
could be lack of s e x, lack of affection, boredom, weakness, money, marriage compatibility etc etc etc the list is endless

you are a dreamer!!!!!everyone will try to be successful in their lives but not everyone will succeed and become rich/wealthy. money IS compulsory in relationship as the lack of it will make people do stuff they might not be willing to do to pay bills/rent/notes.
also, not all women want to wait and many will tell you that: "LOVE WONT GET ME THE LATEST GUCCI BAG/JIMMY CHOO SHOES".
if you think that love alone can keep a woman by your side then you better wake up because you are definitely dreaming!!!

well what do you expect?! YOU are cheating but dont expect HER to do the same?! what kind of selfish world are you living in?!
also she might not see anything wrong with it because she is preparing to murder you in your sleep and take EVERYTHING you got and enjoy her new found single life!!!

good girls can turn bad and bad girls can turn good and the silly thing is that YOU might be the reason why she turns into either.
dont settle for someone and believe that they will stay the way they are all your life!

there is nothing wrong with comparing people, especially if you do something that is a know failure!
are you that insecure that being compared with someone will make you"believe"that she is cheating?!oh lawd!!!!!
everyone makes comparison/criticism, either at work, at the gym, in the family or in marriage. get used to it(especially if she is right).
and if she compares your bed skills with her last bf then tell her that if he was THAT good, she would still be with him!

you definitely must be very young or truly inexperienced with women.
please enlighten me by letting us know WHAT should change if you travel away for long?!

- what about if they are from her family that are arranging your secret birthday party?!
- what about if its from the private detective who is following your cheating a$$ around?
- what about if it is from her lawyer who is explaining to her what will happen during divorce proceedings?

IMHO there is no reason to stick with a cheater, no reason to try to make them change their mind, no reason to beg or give them time. if it doesnt work OR there is no respect/honesty in this marriage then there will never be.
accept your fate and move on with your life hoping to find someone who will have respect for your union.
BTW: if you are a cheater then you both are made for each other and you should live happily ever after.
Mr. Critical. . .there's no reason to tear down almost all the points made by the poster (except #2). . .why not make your own fresh post in your own thread? Though everyone may not agree with 100% of his opinions but he makes good sense in most and in life's situations, 100% "correctness" is not what people may be looking for, just ONE point may be enough to get whoever is affected thinking properly. So, Mr. I-too-sabi-pass-everyone, make your own post. . .shikena!

sad God av mercy on us, may their gentle souls rest in peace.
God CANNOT have mercy in the presence of ignorance or our failure to act! God has not and will not equip any hospitals for any country in the world, not even Israel. God will not fix roads, post officials to have roads patrolled from time to time, have emergency responders immediately dispatched in case of accidents, and the list goes on! So, God will not have mercy!

All God can and will and HAS done is to give all human beings brains and a will to do anything they want even if that thing is not on this earth but on the moon, mars. . .everything! He also gave a means to support us in addition to very smart brains. . .natural resources. . .name them! What else would anyone want God to do?

Yes, their gentle souls should rest in peace but this is the only prayer that ends all the disasters and calamities in Nigeria! Whether this prayer is heard or not, we cannot do anything about it. . .but go and visit this same area in the next 1 week, next 1 month, next 1 year or 10 years. . .would anything have changed showing that we have learnt anything from this incident? Your guess is as good as mine!

It is not her fault that your boyfriend walked on you after being to SA. . .in fact, if you ask any guy who they would rather pick from your attitudes, SA will be a true Goddess why you go just the "mara" for the race!

Politics › Pay-for-play: Senators Want N16 Million (each), For Each New Minister by CyberG(op): 10:12pm On Mar 17, 2010
Goodluck Jonathan dissolved the federal cabinet made up of 42 federal ministers today, to create room for a new start, but he has almost immediately been met with an outrageous new challenge from Nigerian senators who are demanding N16 million per new minister. Each of the 109 Senators would have to collect close to that amount for each of the ministers approved for Jonathan whenever he reconstitutes the cabinet –(This mean N16 million times 42 for every Senator to collect).

According to the Nigerian constitution, the Upper House is required to approve of federal ministers before they can be sworn in, and they are usually approved on a "Bow & Go" basis, with the Senators putting in almost no work. Saharareporters sources said the practice of bribing Senators to approve ministers is not new but Jonathan’s peculiar circumstance has led to a higher inflation of the bribe money by 100% from what it used to be under Yar’Adua, who would normally send his cronies in the Ministry of Agriculture, Customs and the NNPC to do the bidding for him.

Apart from the cost to the presidency, each of the ministers awaiting approval also has to bribe the special committees in charge of their portfolio in order to enjoy approval. It costs an average minister N200 million to sail successfully through the senate.

It is after that that they simply require the prospective Minister to appear before them, take a bow, and leave without being troubled with any questions.

Sha. . .you must just have my opinion? grin See, truth be told, at 76 it must be very frustrating for someone like Soyinka who has physically and mentally strived to influence Naija positively and see positive change to see it worse today than it has ever been! I am not even remotely close to 76 but I have family who have lived outside Nigeria for so long and in their 60's and they are REALLY frustrated! I talk to them often and they tell me about their heartaches. . .they have been hoping for several years for things to change and whenever there was a change in government, their hopes went even higher only to be dashed more terribly than it previously was!

In any event, Prof. is speaking the truth that even a "baby" in Naija politics can see!

Solution: Set-up another "Truth" committee. . .that really knows nothing about truth and justice! Scummy bastar.ds!

The Speaker, House of Representatives, Honourable Dimeji Bankole, has attributed incessant ethno-religious crises in Plateau State and other places in the country to the non-implementation of the past reports of the Commission of Inquiries set up to probe the crises.

Bankole, who stated this when he led other members of the House on a courtesy call on Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State, on Tuesday, expressed worries that with frequent crises in the state, nobody had ever being punished to served as deterrent to others.

“ It is a surprise that with frequent crises in the state and the wanton destruction of lives and properties coupled with many reports of Commission of Inquiries, nobody has been punished to serve as deterrent to other” he said

According to him, if reports of the Commission of Inquiries were not implemented, such unfortunate incident would continue to occur, adding that nobody outside the state could proffer solution to the problems on ground except the people of Plateau State.

The Speaker who assured that House of Representatives would set up Truth and Reconciliation Committee as part of the its contribution to end the carnage in the state, enjoined the people irrespective of creed and political affiliation to cooperate with Governor Jang towards peace building process in the state.

Politics › Jonathan May Sack Aliero, Babalola, Lawal, Omotoba… Akunyili May. . . by CyberG(op): 1:02am On Mar 17, 2010
Barring any last minute change of plans, **Acting President Goodluck Jonathan will on Wednesday announced a minor cabinet reshuffle that will see five ministers removed from their posts. Presidency sources told Saharareporters on Tuesday that the ministers in charge of Power, Rilwan Babalola, Aviation, Babatunde Omotoba, Works, Hassan Lawal, Federal capital territory, Adamu Aliero might be out of job after Wednesday’s meeting of the Executive Council of the Federation.

The sources also disclosed that the cabinet changes might see the Minister of Information and Communication, Dora Akunyili, swapping portfolio with another of her colleague. It is not clear last night what Mrs. Akunyili’s new job would be.

Other options that Mr. Goodluck was weighing last night was the removal of the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mohammed Barkindo and the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Farida Waziri.

The acting president’s associates and the Lt. General Theophilus Danjuma-led Presidential Advisory Council have been pressuring him to rejuvenate the cabinet for better service delivery.

The cabinet reshuffle which ought take place last week had to be withdrawn due to threats from the powerful Governor's Forum, our source said tomorrows changes underwent substantial hiccups due to regional balancing that had to be applied to avoid an appearance of victimization of northern ministers-particularly Minister of Agric, Sayyad Abba Ruma- that were initially penciled down for removal.
