Dorlarphor10: You know nothing man, 5G used frequency spectrum between 30 - 300GHZ( Millimetres wave). This is nothing when compare to ultraviolet light(Sun) that reaches us. Assignment for you, check for frequency spectrum of visible light, Ultraviolet light and compare to radio waves
Apart from that, electronics is known to emit nonionized radiation which can’t break DNA hence , not harmful to human body unlike ionized radiation from Sun, X-rays and gamma rays which has been known to be very harmful to human body. Yet they are here displaying their ignorance.
Nat404: Shut up. I have worked in a technology company. I was exposed to radiation and became sick couple of times.
When I left the place, I became well again after taking medication.
Shut up there.. what type of technology company did you worked for? So you became sick and when you left the company, you became well again after taking medication, that’s why you’re displaying your ignorance here? Smh ... Anyway, what type of radiation were you exposed to?
Nat404: Even radiation could cause cancer and quick ejaculation.
Lots of folks here don't really understand Physics. 5G technology isn't safe. Moreso, the Chinese would hijack the world with this technology. This is particularly why lots of countries rejected it. But Nigeria remains a dumping ground where anything goes.
Stop saying what you don’t know. Radiation from electronics is nonionized hence, can’t break DNA thus causing cancer. Get your facts right before you come here to spew your ignorance.
Nairalandmonika: Stop saying what u don't know, where's your proof that high frequency affect oxygen?
Don’t mind them, their ignorance is really annoying. They don’t even know the difference between ionized and nonionized radiation, they only come online to talk trash.
ogascomax: I laughed some of you thinking that 5G network is about browsing speed, fast download, 5G phone or electronics or you think that they started using 5G network now, 5G has been deployed long ago in the military, for radia system and defence system. What they want to achieve with it is far worst than what you know. You are just thinking of browsing browsing browsing. I watched an advert from BBC about how the world will be in the future concerning GSM. Your body will become the phone with the aid of chip that will be planted in your body. What will make that possible is the 5G.
Jus4c: Hello @Macphenson, it is very commendable to appreciate your concern with respect to the 5G Technology and its perceived relation to the spread of the novel Coronavirus. Truth is there is this unease with some Nigerians as to whether the 5 G technology is already in operation in Nigeria or not. Now, I think it's good to set the record straight: first, the statement of the Minister of Communication, Isa Patanmi,in relation to this is accurate and there is no discrepancy with the MTN's memo you posted. He actually mentioned it on Channel's TV while being interviewed that only a trial of this 5G technology took place last year, and that he was the one that conducted the trial. He further stated that licences were not yet given, as the Federal Government is still assessing everything about the new technology. You may check this video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLQbXPSunQ0
Second, it's very important to be knowledgeable in the field of Physics and Biology or at least do ones personal research from recognized Journals before one can have a good understanding of this linkage of 5G Technology with the spread of the Coronavirus. I can tell you that Electromagnetic Waves Radiations or Frequencies have nothing to do with the spread of this virus. At least, for now, there is no reputable scientific Journal that has this information. I think some of us need to do a bit of our research on areas outside our expertise before circulating unverified information as this, which could cause panic on others, especially the illiterates who usually depend on hearsay to build their opinions. If my stance on this 5G Technology vis-a-vis its connection to this pandemic is proven wrong by a superior scientific evidence, I will gladly take back my statements.
Those individuals that are hurling insults on the Minister, talking about his choice of religion, dress code, and preferred style of appearance, should understand that it is only prudent to respect his choice of personal lifestyle, which has nothing to do with his competence. The man is surely deserving of this position judging by his profile. I'm not his PA neither have I met him in person but I think we, Nigerian youth, would do a great good for ourselves if we improve on our fact finding skills before commenting on any issues of national discourse, or any information available on the social media at all. It is well with us all.
My brother, I’ve been arguing with lots of ignorant fellows like OP since yesterday and honestly, I’m really tired. Glad to know that so many people out there can still lend their voice in curing the ignorance circulating the cyberspace in the last 2 days. I didn’t know that we have so many ignorant educated illiterates in Nigeria, even the ones you think are very learned and smart are not left out. The worst part is that some of our rogue pastors have joined in spreading the lies and ignoranc, they will so use to tighten their grip on their gullible and ignorant sheeples, really unfortunate.
naijatvnet: From his speech palliatives are being considered. Plans are onground. Read the message properly
They are still considering? So they don’t know that palliatives should be put in place before lockdown? Bunch myopic, incompetent and unfit misfits we call leaders.
My argumenent is that Elon Musk can’t have excess excess ventilators to give out while hospitals at his backyard are struggling, something is not right. As I suspected, the tweet on Twitter has been deleted.
tinsel: Tell me what he said wrong. I cannot really understand some of you guys. All is it just to condemn for it's sake alone?
The tweet has been deleted. Elon Musk can’t be giving out free ventilators while American hospitals beg for more ventilators everyday. People like you who lacks critical thinking ability are the ones managing some of the social media pages of our government agencies, that’s why they disgrace a whole country online like this.
naijaboy756: Not bad only that it should have been done discretely. Elon Musk is giving and shipping for free. Government should have placed an official request.
Now the person running that handle is in deep shit...
Elon Musk is scammer. Why is he giving and shipping ventilators for free while US hospitals ran out of ventilators to the extent that they are splitting now?
Squillionaire: Guys, let's not criticize for the sake of it. Ventilators are very scarce around the world now, and even with your money, you might not find to buy.
Yes, we can castigate the Nigerian government for not making healthcare a priority over the years but under the current circumstances, every government is trying its best to lay its hand on as many ventilators as it can. Trump had only a few days reached out to Putin and received a number of Ventilators from Russia as well.
This is not the time to be proud, we need all the help we can get at this time.
Why will Trump/USA begging Russia for ventilators while an American company, Tesla has excess to give away? Just think about it, does your comment make sense to you?
Returning travelers every time ? Why can’t they close the airspace once and for all? The present administration is very proud, arrogant, unfit, clueless and idiotic to say the least..
Yenefer: so striping off his Constitutional right is a good thing to do
You can’t be allowed to endanger the life of others with your stupid constitutional right. The same sham constitutional right brought us to this present situation.
Excuzeme: I believe both of you have the interest of Nigerians at heart but differ in approach to solve the problem! You are looking at the economics and humanitarian aspect of it while the other guy is looking at a solution to the Virus problem by preventing it from spreading and killing more people.
In-between both of you is a middle ground because when a person is ill, all these talk about "daily bread" will become irrelevant, even if they give you food for free, yo wont be able to eat it. That is why wise people have said: Health is Wealth.
I agree that a good govt needs to look at what the people will eat, how they would survive, when a lockdown is put in place. Good leaders, good government in Europe and America have already put-in palliatives for food, income, rent deferment, etc, for their people so that they can survive the three weeks of lockdown that they put in place. But in Nigeria, our leaders see this Virus pandemic as an opportunity to make quick money! Imagine the Minister for Health planning to import USED and REFURBISHED Medical Gown that A NEW ONE sells as low #2500, for #32,000 each!
These are the type of evil leaders that cannot think about the people but about themselves and their pockets, if l have my way, l will infect all of them and ensure they dont get treated so they can suffer very well before they die.
Having said that, we have NO OPTION that to enforce a Lockdown, very, very soon! It is the DEVIL'S ALTERNATIVE! Eitherway, PEOPLE would die!
If we dont enforce a lockdown very soon, the amount of people that are already infected without showing any symptoms and infecting others, will keep increasing and by the time we realise whatsup, it will be too late and millions will just die like flies all over the place! Of what use is hustling for daily bread, when at the end of the day, you bring the bread home and death will not allow you to eat it? We have a choice between having a lockdown NOW and reducing the number of deaths (some will definitely die of hunger, regretably!) or not having a lockdown and counting dead bodies all over Nigeria, for the next one year, th enumbers will be worse that all the world wars combined.
But there is a middle ground! And that is for we Nigerians to help the less fortunate ones amongs us, by reducing our own consumption, donating what is spared to those in need, Rice farmers donating Rice to Govt to share to the people (Govt should now pay them later), producers making their goods available for use, on a CREDIT BASIS, until the the crises subsides and then we start all over again.
That is the ONLY Choice we have. or we all can die here in this shithole with wicked leaders. Contagion will be child's play.
Thats exactly what I’m saying, they will always want to make money from this situation without thinking about the welfare of the masses. Of course I get your point and we have no option. My only fear is that we are not advanced like other western countries so if the government enforces total lockdown without any palliative in place, the number of people that will die of hunger will far exceed the virus itself. And like they say, a hungry man is an angry man, I forsee angry hungry masses looting shops very soon, especially here in the north.
edoairways: How would many Nigerians feed during this period? Would the electricity companies pity them ? How effective is the healthcare system should a case be reported?
Don’t mind them, they always ready to site western countries as examples but won’t mention the necessary amenities in place.
lozanni: Admit it, you are poor and broke, that is why you are frustrated and unnecessarily aggressive. Ntor !!!
Akuko.. Audio online billionaire, we know your type. Empty vessels makes the loudest noise. Lmao. Admit it that you lack cognitive reasoning, irrational and unfit like your idiotic leaders all around Africa.
middlebelter: Thank you for the insult, I appeal to you to do a cost/benefit analysis of not shutdown then you will agree that there is wisdom in shutting down. As I respond to your insult, UK has just taking the decision to shut down for three weeks after loosing many souls to the dreaded pandemic. There progress assessment shows that if they didn't shutdown the loss of lives and properties will not only continue but their economy will continue to plug down into recession.
I hope you will also be bold enough to list the pilliatives UK is putting in place before the shutdown.
