Lol grin, you see yourselves?

So, you all are willing to give up certainty/a bird in hand (like the 3M Naija job) for uncertainty so long as, it is ogbodo-onyibo and someone else is picking up the tab for relocation, abi?

What happened to the usual rhetoric of Naija women change once they land abroad, don't make that mistake of relocating with a Naija woman, she will show you shege once she reaches there.

What happens to the usual fear men nurse about starting over in their latter years or doing menial jobs for survival, knowing they'll be giving up good jobs here like your bosses did?

By the way, if I may ask how are they faring since quitting to relocate? I know one guy who used to be with Forte Oil, earning really well. He relocated with his family but now is back looking for work, he relocated them on his own dime not company money.

This grass is not always greener on the other side, even Tjra who is saying if that was the case (company paid relocation to abroad) he would go, do menial jobs while seeking a better job, may find out sooner or later in such a scenario that he was better off with his 600k job and relocating to Abuja instead.

I'm still curious about your bosses who left. How's that working out for them? I hope they are not speaking this same narrative you spoke in your first post or experiencing the pains of Naija women abroadgrin

O'boy, you have succeeded in sending shivers down my spine.
I am about moving my family overseas.
My home rakes about #800k monthly( both salaries and businesses).
Wify is a banker and earns about #300k monthly.
Recently, she got a lecturing job at a federal university, but the salary is half her present salary. At the same time, she got an offer from
another bank with a pay of #500k.
Now, she doesn't know which to pick.
I presented her with the idea of relocating overseas and have commence preparations.
The question that got out of her mouth was " hope we won't regret relocating"?
I have not replied her up to now.
That was why your write up git me thinking so hard.

Its one of those things my brother but we the children from those homes those days in Ajegunle enjoy it..infact growing up was fun and catering for us was everyone's business in the compound as well as disciplinary measures. We grow up to better and with healthy competition among ourselves believing our days and conditions will be better than our parents living in that one room apartments.
Today, many self made gents and ladies or
even married couples can trace there line to these roots....after former president GEJ told us he used to go to school with torn shorts and bare foot, that may mean he stay in same room conditions in Bayelsa but today the rest is history!

O'boy, no b small thing o!
I grew up with four of my siblings plus my parents in such condition at 56 Uzor street, Ajegunle.
Our condition was even better than our neighbors'. Some of our neighbors were 8 and 9 in number in one room.
Mind you, on the average, there were two beds in that room o!, Cushions and electronic shelves.

Artificial Intelligence

The opportunities are endless when you master it.

Few years from now it will be in vogue in Nigerian (imagine being contracted by multiple companies to handle their AI operation).

You can work remotely for multinationals or international firms or better still get employed by them and leave Naija if you don't like it here.

Are you into it?

What makes you think is not easy? Some dropshippers make money than those that have physical shops, all you need is to be very active on social media.

Do you need to market the items with your Facebook ID?

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Are Sales Job Worth It ? by Czzy: 11:32am On Mar 23, 2021

On of my biggest regrets today is the stand I took on sales and marketing jobs just before I graduated from university. They were a never for me, having grown and owning my own businesses I now see them as even more important than tech skill. What's the use of having a good product if you can't effectively market and sell it? Some people will say hire a sales n marketing person, but as the head of a business you have to be able to understand, control and set a vision for your business. Go check most successful CEOs and head of business one of their top skills are sales and marketing. Yes there is a lot of abuse in the sector but we need to learn to eat the hay and leave the sticks, take the skills and leave the malpractices.

Sales and marketing are critical skills to any career cos we all are selling something be it skills, goods or services.

Look bro.
I will tell anyone close to me to make sure he/she endeavor to pick a sales job as his or her first job before any thing else.

No matter what career you intend to pursue, just make sure you did a sales job as your first experience. Because at a point in your life, you will desire to own your own business. An experience in sales here cannot be over-emphasised.

Well as far as business is concerned, you don't need an actual timing for it. Business is what we do in our everyday life events....you have your mobile phone, you can do your business through that. Open a business page on all social media platforms. If you're mobile(car)go along with your goods. So far you have quality things,I guarantee you a massive turnout.

It all depends on your marketing skills , I will do my part to present you with goods or if you can come in person too.

I don't have advice for this but consider the guy that lost his job, also both of u cannot hide it for too long. Uhh
I just lost a former classmate, yesterday. He lost his job and his wife left him.
Does it mean there is no more loyalty from our wives?
Does it mean when the job goes, then the marriage goes?
I wonder how our society is fast changing to something else.
After I lost my job, my wife took responsibility of the home for four good years before I regained my feet. She shouldered every expenses ranging from children's school fees to house rent to feeding to even my pocket money.
After I heard all that happened to my former classmate, it struck me that my wife might be just a one off among present time wives.
May God grant us the wisdom to meet present day marriage challenges.

Friends and famz..

I was recently offered a full-tme job in Lagos for a copywriting role with a good pay.

Sometimes back, I was called for a briefing by the HR team, they asked tons of questions which I was able to crush.

That's how I got the offer.

I felt it's time to build a professional network.

This is what skills gives you.

In early 2018

I was once in a jobless and hopeless situation with no hope in sight until skill paved the way.

Never give up.

You leverage on digital skill and it gives you the edge.

The only Nigerian woman, who is hundred percent sure of her husband's location, at every given second...is a widow.

The worst thing about when men cheat is, they can't just fukc around in peace, tell the girl how men are polygamous in nature. They prefer to tell lies and denigrate their wives.
Please, it is not all men that sleep around. I have been married for six years; I have never cheated on my wife. My job entails a lot of traveling, but I keep to myself till I return home. Not all men are dogs. I have my dignity intact.

Career / Re: 7 Things I Wished I Was Told Before Graduating From The University by Czzy: 3:24pm On Jul 28, 2017
obataokenwa:
I didn't learn work before school but after school. If I will advice, if anyone got money, he should learn crane operator, training on oil and gas(BOSIET,HUET,EDH,MEA,HLO,SSO,RIVER MASTER, QUARTER MASTER, BANKSMAN... it costs huge money to get all this but you will get a nice job after it) , POP and screeding,

POP and screeding is the cheapest and within one year, you've learnt it and can start work.

The oil and gas courses can take you a month or two to get the certs them....if you must do it, make sure you get the best certs up-to Bosiet which may cost you up-to 500k to acquire but at the long run, one rig work will wipe away the tears in your family. it's also advisable to go learn it in South Africa if you can afford it or London. Pipeline welding is good too but should be learnt outside the country like Malaysia or Singapore.

If you don't have money, learn normal tiles and interlocking laying, conduit wiring, tailoring at a very good tailoring shop like Aba, Hair making etc
I am a graduate of Biochemistry. I have worked for six years with three companies. I lost the last job, now currently learning POP and Screeding from a Benin Republic man. I hope to make a strong headway with those skills after my apprenticeship. I have got three children already, so I must have to succeed on this.

Car Talk / Re: Basic Maintenance Checks After Acquiring A Used Car by Czzy: 6:30pm On Jan 07, 2017

Thanks sunnymoore and Trygo for your insightful comments, I knew recently that my car is not working well,my car used to work cooly but now the sound is high. The problem started when my fan stopped working one day, it only comes on when I put on AC, if I off the AC the fan will go off. When I took it to the auto electrician, he worked on it and the fan starts working with or without AC. But it affected the car's RMP in the process so he had to adjust it from somewhere. If I put off the AC the RPM will go below 1 but if I put it on it will get to 1.
I spend so much money on fuel now, please guys what can be done to reverse the situation?
Kindly explain how much fuel you burn in a week or in every 30km travel? I really need to compare with my current car situation.
Car Talk / Re: Basic Maintenance Checks After Acquiring A Used Car by Czzy: 4:47pm On Jan 07, 2017
Sunymoore:

No. You're already on your way to kill your car.
I guess the same Kazeem might have removed the thermostat.. Now your car will run rich most of the time, because the operating temperature will never be achieved..
The thermostat works by blocking water/coolant until the engine reaches optimal temperature. Now in the absence of it, the engine will be flooded with coolant, and the ever spinning fan will make sure your engine stays cold.. Your car ECU will instruct the injector to mix more fuel to air ratio 'Rich'.. And the final result is increase in feul consumption, increase in emissions and more wear and tear..
but if don,t make the fan to work immediately you start on the ignition, the temperature will rise beyond the half way mark.

I remember a song we use to sing then in Lagos after watching each episode of the Village Headmaster" everywhere I go, Sisi Clara dey follow me". Those days in Lagos, if your television set do not get signals from OGTV; you must have to fortify your antenna with more old fluorescent tubes and flat aluminium plates. Chai!! I love those days. Our country was more peaceful and welcoming then. I do not know where we got it so wrong now.
