It is that same Yoruba Man's offsprings that you ingrates are abusing as of today! And since then, the Northerner still hold a special hatred for the Igbos but shockingly and ironically, the Igbos prefer to run to the same Northerners, in other to spite Yorubas! If the Northerners have changed their hatred for Igbos, maybe l will understand but it is obvious, even in the current Govt, with all the "Operation Crocodile Smile", Operation Lizard Dance, Operation this and that in Igboland, that the Northerner see Igbosland as a conquered territory and the Igbo people as conquered Slaves. Instead of Igbos to think strategically,stop their emotional foolishness and align with Yorubas, for the long term, they are dragging and crying over 2023 Presidency with Yorubas and threatening to give it to the same Northerners, after their 8yrs of failure. Let me summarise the TRUTH here for you and you can go slap that your Uncle: 1) Igbos were grabbing everything in sight for themselves, including the Military commands, just like Fulanis are doing today but Hausas still control the Central Power. 2) The Northerners were getting agitated and as usual in their blood-thirsty madness, they slaughter Igbos regularly, in their "Progroms". 3) In their bid to retaliate, Igbo Officers in the military planned that Coup to seize Power. In that Coup, they informed all their Igbo Officers to either travel out of the country or stay away from work, so it wont look like they deliberately spared their own kinsmen. 4) They killed the Northern Officers, their Political leaders, did same to Southern Leaders but not a single Igbo Officer was killed. This is what gave them out! The aim was to seize complete control of the country's military and Political apparatus, dominate other tribes completely and do so with force.. The Plan worked but not for too long because the Northerners also organised their own Revenge Coup, which led to the death of a lot of Igbo Officers and started another roynd of targeting of Igbos in the North. 5) When the killing of Igbos in the North became unbearable, this led Ojukwu to decide he will secede Igboland from Nigeria. 6) The Northerners became bolder, after the success of that Counter-Coup For added perspective, 6) Ojukwu knew his Biafran Army could not take on the Nigerian Army alone, so he tried to co-opt the Southerners to secede at the same time. he had meetings with Awolowo, who was premier of Western Region. 7) Awolowo made him understand that the whole South West is surrounded by Northern Troops at that moment, they were in-charge of all the SW Garrisons and it will be suicide for Yorubas to start a secession war at that point in time. He pleaded with Ojukwu to bid more time, so they can plan properly. He made Ojukwu understand that he was not ready to lead his Yoruba folks to slaughter because they were not armed nor prepared for such War. How do you got to War on impulse, without stockpile of weapons, without adequate planning, he asked Ojukwu?  Ojukwu and Awolowo went to Aburi Conference with the Northerners and Ojukwu, in his brilliance, was well prepared and he got all the concessions he needed at that conference. He floored the Northerners completely, infact, he took their Aboki brains to the cleaners. Awolowo heaved a sigh that at least, War has been averted.9) When the Northern delegate came back, their Leaders reneged on the Aggrement signed in Aburi. Ojukwu was furious and he declared Biafran secession immediately, without further consultation with Awolowo. Awolowo sent emissaries to him but he rebuffed them, saying "there was no going back". 10) When the war was ongoing and Biafra was not getting traction, he figured that if he could make the SW start their own secession war, the Northerners will have to face two fronts and that would give him leverage but he showed no concern for what will happen to the "unprepared" South Westerners. 11) Awolowo refused to be forced into War of secession. This angered Ojukwu and instead of bombing Northwards towards the Hausa enclaves, he started attacking and bombing Southwards, toward Yorubaland. 12) Ojukwu's Biafra bombed a place called Casino Cinema area, in Ebute Metta, in Lagos. He bombed Ijebu Ode, Benin. He conquered all the South South States and conscripted them as Slave labour, seized all their local wealth and made them a conquered territory of Biafra. In all these, Awolowo and Yorubas kept appealing to him that they have no issue with his secession but they cannot start a War in their current state of unpreparedness. When Ojukwu's bombing reached Oore, in present day Ondo State, the Yorubas decided that they wont be a conquered territory like the South South, so they had no choice than to repel Ojukwu's Biafra and in no time, under the leadership of Awolowo, Benjamin "Scorpion" Adekunle and other Yoruba Officers, they drove Ojukwu Army back into Onitcha (in self defense!) and when his Army became crushed, he escaped to Ivory Coast and the remnants of Biafra had no choice but to surrender. This same OBJ took their Flag of Surrender. Igbos of today, blame the Yorubas for their loss, due to the lies that their fathers told them, in an attempt to cover-up their own lack of patience, lack of foresight, lack of tactics, lack of strategy, impatience, arrogance of mind, lack of planning, lack of tact, lack of emotional intelligence and boastfulness, most traits that they still exhibit till today (as you can see on this thread) when in reality, they failed because of their weakness. I hope and pray that people like you, Igbos of today, dont make the same mistakes that Ojukwu's generation made in 1967, same mistake that Nnamdi Kanu made just recently (lack of emotional intelligence, lack of strategy, crass arrogance and lack of tact, etc) because l know that the system is unfair to them but they are not doing the right things to fight the unfair system, they are not even going about breaking-off from the system, in the right way because to catch a Monkey, you must be able to act like one, rather they are fighting those who should be their natural ally, OUT OF SPITE, HATRED AND POSSIBLE ENVY. This is the "Real History" your Igbo Uncles would not tell you. Thanks for reading, you may disagree and state your disagreements but if you resort to insults, you will only be confirming what l said abut lacking emotional intelligence, the same way most of you are reacting to what Gov. Northerners must be dancing right now and that shows that the SE is yet to mature politically. Politics is a game of numbers and the winners are those who can bury their ego, restrain their emotions, form alliance with those who respect and trust them and those who will stand by their promises (The SW has proved they are Politically reliable and will keep their word, as we saw in 2015 and 2019), so they can achieve their "objective".. But you are not Igbo, so l can understand. Ex-President Jonathan recently said that the SS is not part of Biafra and that it is an insult to claim they are part of Biafra! So, l dont see where your assertion is coming from. If the Northerners, as arrogant and cunning as they are, are Smart enough, to humble themselves and approach the SW in 2015, so they can get the Presidency, dont you think it will be foolish of anyone from Southern Nigeria, (SW, SS, SE) to think they cant work with the SW. so they can get the Presidency now or in the immediate next cycle?. Think about this for a minute. Finally, l have to say this but History has shown that whether the SE supports the SW or not, the SW always get its share of the Presidency, (the North always prefer to "work with" the SW but they always "use and dump" the SE and never give them the Presidency!) .... it is only the SE that the North will never trust, no matter how much boy-boy the SE does to them, to make on eof them the President. So, of what benefit is it to a SE person, to SPITE the SW and go align with the North? The SW will get it sooner or later but the North will never give or allow the SE to get it. Only an alliance of the SE with the SW, scares the North, as you can see from the current ongoing Anti Grazing Bill. You can use an Old, unused UPS, as an Inverter, all you need is one or more battery and a Charger! It will power your Fans throughout the night and one or two bulbs, irrespective of the number of children you have. And more importantly, ANYONE who can afford to put a generator on, ALL NIGHT, can afford this cheapsake Inverter, that means YOU can afford it. It has nothing to do with Govt or Banana Island. Like l said, People Perish for lack of Knowledge. The day you "calm the-Bleep-down and ask how to go about this and when you actually install it, you will thank me for drawing your attention to it. erubati:The problem was caused by your Landlord, he should have inserted the Clause in the Rent agreement, specifying when and when generators can come on and be switched-off. I know some Landlords only care about collecting Rent and not about the welfare of their tenants. Especially where one is located near the Window of another or the space is compact and gives no room for spacing out. First, explain the issue to your Landlord (You can record the Noise level with a Sound Meter App, inside your own Apartment. You should also record it with your Phone, with your TV turned to 50% when there is no Generator and when there is his Generator, for good comparisons. If you dont get a Solution, you can report him to LASEPA (that Environmental Protection Agency, since you say you are in Lagos). Noise is a Pollutant and it must be minimised. Depriving someone of Sleep by putting on your Generator into the middle of the Night (without a Muffler!) is considered a form of Torture and is a criminal offense. 3 Likes |

But the problem is that you Northerners are just "Freeloading" on Southerners, even the Electricity that was privatised, you still wont pay for it. That is why you will observe that it is only in Southern Nigeria, that all these Govt Agencies like Custom, Immigration, Police Check Points, FRSC, etc are "Effectively Operating", it is only in Southern Nigeria that they flex muscle on the Citizens/ 80% of Nigeria's Resources, come from the South.
