The kingdom of heaven is in your midst according to thesame jesus.

The kingdom of heaven is not above the sky in a certain lala land. The kingdom is to be here on earth, it begins the moment all rule and Dominion becomes that of christ and christ alone. It is a dream, an ideal state where there is no more ruler but Messaiah in Jerusalem ( and by extension the whole earth).

lol honestly speaking while I would agree that Ronaldo is one of the top five footballers the world has ever know, still he should not be compared to Messi.
Messi is usually compared to Pele, I hardly see anyone compare Ronaldo to Pele.
My top 7 are: Messi, Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Zidane and Ronaldo De lima, in that order for me.

Ever since the exit of Xavi and Iniesta, Messi has been playing both the number 10 and false 9 position, and still getting more than 25 goals per season on average. Ronaldo have been mostly about scoring goals only so far. I don't think Ronaldo would have survived long in a post 2018 Barcelona team.

Perfection is a quality of God. Its difficult to believe that a perfect being could communicate something so crucial imperfectly.

Perfection begets perfection.

This is the real issue.
But the bible was written by men, inspired men.

exactly what I'm fighting against. I want to have it in my head.

I think it's not possible for one to know every code in his head.
When it comes to coding, it is not important that you have it in your head, but rather that you understand the logic. You know the process of what you want to do step by step, and then know if it is possible in javascript, and finally what to search for on google.
There is no plagiarism in copying codes from stackoverflow, as long as you understand the process, and can tweak the code as you wish.

I had to go through the write up again to confirm where he said he was learning java along but I couldn't find it in fact I couldn't infer it in the write up. If he had mentioned he learned Java I believe he would have probably shown us swing gui project or JavaFX gui project.

4 years on html and CSS without JavaScript is a waste of time to me.
Well the title says Html, CSS, and Java.
Yes you are right, one can't ignore javascript learning only Html and CSS, on that route he could at least add stuff like Adobe XD and Figma( U.I design), then it would be worth the time.

Did you just say you learn HTML and CSS for 4 years and all you could build with the skill is sign up and log in page?

That will be marvelous sha!
grin. He said he was learning java as well.
The thing though is that if I knew what I know now when I started learning programming in 2018, I would have learnt with projects immediately after learning the basics.
I would have studied with projects from the very first month, and then start building mine in the second month. That way you not only learn the basics more, you challenge yourself to apply them.

Javascript, 3 months? I laugh grin grin in Vue at an Angular style. grin grin

Just React.
lol, I think it's possible though. If someone learns the basics for 1 month ( arrays, functions, variables, data structures, loops, etc). Another 1-2 months should be spent on projects, from simple projects like counters, changing background colours, slide images, etc.
With these practical projects in addition to object oriented programming, json, etc in javascript, one can be at intermediate level in javascript within 2 months. After getting a general feel of the basics (without wasting time there). When the learner is focused on studying projects from scratch, and then making the effort to build projects as well (thereby going back to the basics again from time to time), learning gets faster.
Frameworks can come later.

First of all this is a huge experience for my .... well it is all self- taught and going through this journey it not funny at all, let me remain you guys I don't know JavaScript in fact I have not started my JavaScript journey ...... insane right like what was I doing during those 4 years ....well first of all coding can be fun especially when you are going it right yeah !! especially working with HTML and HTML 5 , one start feeling like a Boss but when you start getting to CSS your world start getting complicating lol...... so this is some of what I have been able to do though it is not hardcore stuff just basic stuff..... I created a webpage with a sign up form link which takes one to the sign up form then to the thank you page......
I don't really get how people learn Html and CSS separately, I always do them together.

Lol his portfolio is what will even give him that interview. A front end developer position today needs knowledge of HTML CSS JavaScript React maybe one database. A full stack developer position needs knowledge of all of the above and another language. If you don't know this how are you even going to get to that interview and not all companies use data structures and algorithms to test employees. Only companies with businesses that involves large amounts of data test with it. Most companies give a design for you to rebuild. Besides learning data structures and algorithms, what language is he going to use to practicalise that subject matter. He has to be proficient in one language at least learn the basics of it before learning that.
This data structures and algorithm thing is sometimes overstated in my opinion. I mean who learns a language from scratch without coming across data structures.

Python was my first language ( without a computer science background) and once I understood things like list, dictionaries, query, loops, and their application in pandas and django, I knew then that I was way better than before.

Moving over to javascript( another dynamic language) and even Dart ( non dynamic language), they all had the same concept. I only had to get used to syntaxes.

Infact to me, javascript is just python with more curly braces and semi columns at the end, no real differences in terms of the concept. Javascript was more familiar to me than Html and css.

So I believe learning data structures and algorithms comes from learning languages in depth and building projects especially 2D games at first ( not websites ).

Data science of course, WordPress has started making web dev look like a joke, applications aren't all that attractive to but data science to me is good out of the three.
Data Science is good, but sometimes employers look forward to a kind of scientific background as compared to say front end web development for instance.

"Germany is no where near the USA when it comes to racism" This is a misconception and you are completely wrong. Europe (I have visited a few times) is way more racist than America and you even alluded to it in your post through several statements such as: being called the N-word, not having enough blacks in professional positions. I have been living in America for nearly a decade now and have never experienced any iota of racism, not to talk of being called the N-word like you have been called in Europe. Mind you, I have lived in small towns in the Midwest and south: Missouri, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Texas ,places people erroneously assume racists live. Also, I have always had professional jobs and still have never experienced any iota of racism in the corporate sector. Nobody i know who is black (and I know a lot) has suffered any kind of racism. The misconception that America is irredeemably racist stems from the biased American media whose main goal is to paint America in the most negative light possible both locally and internationally. Do not trust media outlets like CNN, NYT, WAPO, and infact most American media outlet. They have an incentive to report only negative things because negative news bring more ratings and they make money like that. Nigerians watch CNN a lot. I wish they knew that CNN is one of the most biased media outlets in the USA. That is why their ratings is so low here. Most people dont watch them here. But outside the USA everyone thinks they are an example of media excellence. Nothing could be further from the truth.

America is truly the land of the free. A place where everyone including blacks and even a Nigerian immigrant like me have rights, unlike what is obtainable in Europe. In America, you can literally achieve anything you want if you are willing to work for it. In America, you can be rich and not be taxed to death like in Europe. Regarding professional jobs in America, you are judged by what you know and not by the color of your skin. You will rise fast in the corporate ladder if you are smart and no one cares about the color of your skin. There are a lot of blacks in high end professional jobs. Heck, we even had a black president, which is the highest job in the land. Wake me up when a country in Europe has one. Is there a perfect country? No. America is not perfect, but neither is any country in Europe. But in my opinion, America is the best country in the world to be if you have the drive and tenacity required to succeed. The issue of racism you hear is exaggerated by the media because that is what they do. Ofcourse this does not mean that there are no racists, but that racism is so insignificant that you will not even see it except you are the kind who looks for racism in everything. Many minorities prefer to focus on finding racism in everything, instead of taking advantage of the opportunities this country offers like no other. If America was as racist as you and many people say, I would not be where I am professionally and neither would many people I know. Also, having lived here close to a decade, it will be hard to miss the realities of racism if they were as egregious as you claim it is.
Well even if Germany is racist, police harassment and random killing of blacks is not common at all. Gun violence is also very minimal compared to the U.S.

Blacks get professional jobs, and the number of blacks I know getting professional jobs was constantly on the rise just before the Corona. Also even during the corona crises, I know of a black guy who has kept his professional job till date in a company where even a number of Germans were sacked due to the corona crisis. Blacks in informatics also can get jobs in places like Berlin and Munich without even knowing the language.

While it is true that racism prevents many blacks from getting professional jobs, it is also true that before the early 2000's, there weren't many blacks who came to Germany seeking to study or get professional jobs( skilled blacks in the U.S have come a long way comparatively). These days there are more blacks (qualified for white collar jobs or as students) coming to Germany than before.

please, those in Germany, how true is the statement below, i copied it from another website

There are exceptions to this tuition-
free rule, however. If you don’t finish
your degree course on time and you
study in Bremen, Lower Saxony,
Saarland, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt or
Thuringia, you may have to pay
tuition fees.
it is true, but what you pay is 500 Euros mostly. Still very cheap compared to UK and Canada.
You only pay that if you exceed 8-9 semesters ( about 5 years) on one study program.
You also pay that in Saxony Anhalt when you apply for a 2nd Masters degree after completion of your first masters. However in Saxony Anhalt, you can break down the 500 Euros into 90 euros per month.

Are art courses like law and political science highly opportuned to get jobs over there?
In my opinion, that would not be a good choice. Coming here to read political science seems useless. I mean think about it, how would such a degree be of benefit to you in Germany? and I suspect your German knowledge is not that good.

If your relocation is based on just leaving Nigeria for good and hustling hard in Germany( with unrelated jobs to your degree) then good, but if you care so much about getting a professional job in political science after studies, then it would be quiet difficult. If that is the case, check for related social science degrees, maybe something like public administration ( if that is related).

tensazangetsu20:
I will comment as someone who just started learning to code in February.

A full stack developer is someone who builds the front end and back end of web applications.

Front end normal consists of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and one JavaScript Framework(react, angular or Vue).

Back end is enormous. You can use JavaScript on the backend with nodejs but there are other languages like java, PHP, c#, python. The list is endless. You also need to know at least one database for the backend side.

I have been studying at least 10 hours a day since February. I can practically count the number of times I have left home and I just finished the front end track. I try to build as I learn so maybe that's a reason for me being slow. I presently just started the backend track and it should take me another 6 months at least with the language I am learning plus I have a really really big project I want to build. A full stack application with front end and back end.

As for Jobs, omho the work plenty o. I started applying to front end developer jobs and I have already sent out 60+ applications. I have like 6 code tests In my emails. Will use the weekend to tackle them. There's so many jobs out there for developers. There's like a gazillion jobs out there men it's so scary.

I studied marine engineering and my course practically has no jobs. I remember when I graduated like they were no jobs online at all. I had to be sending my CVS to company's emails and praying someone read it.

Op if you wanna learn it, just start.
There are jobs in Marine Engineering with other names in Europe (related jobs). Check out Norway and Germany.
But Informatics is definitely a sure career path.

Potsdam is very close to Berlin. So while you may not really enjoy potsdam in terms of social life and job opportunities, you can always go to Berlin. I only know about Fulda and Cottbus and I’ve spoken about Cottbus. Fulda is a small student town close to Kassel and there’s nothing happening there. A lot of refugees are there as well. It is extremely boring and shitty. It is cool for studying and moving away after.

In terms of job opportunities, don’t even bother thinking of Fulda or Cottbus. Berlin is the hub of IT professionals. You can get a job in IT as quickly as 2 weeks, even without German. Anybody who has background in IT is more likely to get a job in Germany than anyone else. Look into big cities instead. You can study in a small city and move to a big city to find a job.

Maybe someone else can tell you more.

All of these countries are good. I personally love Sweden. Also the language barrier is less there.
