malcom1X: So no one could answer this question till now.
Op apple grows everywhere in Nigeria.
One guy was able to create an apple were you have to graft the seedlings with another root to make the apple grow in Africa. His name is wambugu, they named the apple that can grow in Africa after him. Yes, Florence Muringi Wambugu by name (born 23 August 1953) is a Kenyan plant pathologist and virologist. She is known for her advocacy of using biotechnology to increase food production in Africa. She attended the University of Nairobi, Kenya, where she received her Bachelor of Science in botany and zoology. She obtained her Master of Science in botanical pathology from North Dakota State University, United States in 1984; and her PhD from the University of Bath, England in 1991. She was also awarded an Honorary Degree (Doctor of Science) from the University of Bath in 2009. Wambugu is the founder, director and the chief executive officer of Africa Harvest Biotech Foundation International (AHBFI) since 1994. AHBFI is a nonprofit foundation with offices in Nairobi, Kenya, Johannesburg, South Africa, and Washington, D.C. Previously, she founded, established and worked as Africa Region Director, ISAAA – Afri-center, in Nairobi. From 1978 to 1991, she worked as a senior research officer (pathologist) and coordinator of plant biotechnology research at the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI), Kenya. Thereafter (1991–1994), she was a post-doctoral fellow with Monsanto Company. She has made significant contributions to the research, development and improvement of maize, pyrethrum, banana, sweet potato and forestry production in Kenya. She has published over 100 articles and co-authored various papers. Previously, she served on several board of directors including the Private Sector Committee of the CGIAR, the United Nations Millennium Development goals Hunger task force; she also was a member of the Executive Committee of Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA); the DuPont Company Biotech Advisory Panel, USA; the International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI, now called Bioversity International), and the African Biotechnology Stakeholders Forum (ABSF). Crime › DSS Arrest Cultist Whose Gang Brutalised Female Tiktok User by Dagger111(op): 7:45am On Oct 01, 2021 |
One of the suspected cult member who brutalised a Tiktok user for recreating their slang on the app has been arrested by the police and The Department of State Services (DSS) in Edo state.
Smart is allegedly a member of the Neo-Black Movement (NBM) popularly known as Aye Confraternity or .
Last week, he and colleagues tracked down a female TikTok user, Perry1056, for mimicking NBM ‘prayers’, songs and slangs.
The victim, whose whereabouts are unknown, was taken to an uncompleted building in a street along Covenant road.
In footage, they interrogated, hit, stripped the lady, and sexually molested her.
Perry explained to her captors that she learned about NBM activities while in a relationship with a guy.
Confessing, Smart tried to downplay his role but admitted he was part of the gang. The suspect revealed the names of accomplices.
“We were six: Osahomen, Kparapos, Asoro, John and Odion. They live at Idowina. I don’t know where the girl lives. We took her from Polingo where she works.
“I don’t know the girl. It was one of my friends who said he knew her. He complained that she made a video singing Aye’s songs.
“He played the video and pointed the girl. I said I wasn’t sure…I wasn’t there when they stripped her, it was later I saw her naked. Nobody had sex with her”, he claimed.
The founder of Behind Bars, Harrison Gwamnishu said security agencies were on the trail of the remaining suspects.
“Kudos to the Nigeria Police, Department of State Security, and Edo State Behind Bars Team for their swift response.
“To those who warned me to stay clear from this case, dare stop me on the way and that marks the end of your existence.
“We all must stop legalizing illegality and stop justifying abnormalities in this unjust system”, the activist wrote on Instagram.

Phones › Re: Here Is How I Got Scammed Of 320k Yesterday At Computer Village by Dagger111(m): 3:35pm On Sep 30, 2021 |
Tunchi101: so yesterday, I had to visit a police station for d first time in my life as a result of my 1st computer village scam. did those guys scam me mehnn (and to think it was a popular store)… me wey think say I street
My experience with the Police officers…?
never have I felt more helpless in my entire life than when I was in that police station
if it was when popsy was still alive and I was still in the cantoment, na just soldiers I for resolve my issue
When I reported the issue to the police officers I met at the counter(2 females), the first thing they said was that before they can answer me at all, I would have to sort them with 30thousand naira that they are very busy people
in that very moment, I knew I already almost lost the case cause it would eventually become a game of numbers i.e d person who could sort the most
I knew I was not going to compete with one big Igbo man who owns abt 4 stores in computer village
for a moment though, I almost considered giving them the 30k because of the amount involved but then Sapa had me violently by the neck…
so about the scam…
earlier this month, I decided to switch from an android to an iOS device(Xs Max). Went to slot but they did not have the exact model I wanted. A friend of mine had just gotten an iOS device so I asked him where he got it and he referred me to BIGTECHDEVICES on Instagram. He also stated they deliver at home which was a plus for me.
I ordered and it got delivered to me
my brother uses an identical device and he’s also a phone engineer.
The next day after the purchase, I noticed something on the screen and showed it to by brother, he immediately said the phone was not a new one(now there was no way for him to vex the product before purchase because I bought it online). Tahh I rebuked him in Jesus name immediately. Phone dat I cut nylon myself
I continued flexing my phone like that
a week after using d phone, d battery health dropped from 100% to 93% and usually this should take up to a year before dropping to 93%. I still choose self denial over reasoning cause no way I spent that money and cut nylon myself only for me to get a substandard product.
What I discovered yesterday was the straw that broke the camels back and had me marching to computer village (I was going to take my junior brother along but he wasn’t around) after looking for their address online. I realized the phone was coupled in Nigeria.
I learnt a few things yesterday
not only is the police force grossly incompetent, they are wildly corrupt and lack human empathy.
Just because a celebrity is following a brand/store does not make them legit (donjazzy follows them so it gave them some form of credibility) - I am not by this faulting celebrities directly for promoting brands
If you’d have to order electronics online, make sure this from a very well know and credible store
The police is not your friend
Avoid trouble as best as you can
after so much deliberation, the officers accepted 10k. Escorted me to d store where I ordered d phone and picked up one of the sales boy. d boy explained 2 dem at d station that as he has already told me before, I’d have to drop d phone and come back after 2 weeks. This was unacceptable for me and for a moment it was for the officers too
they told the boy 2 invite his Oga, he said d oga was not around. Then they asked him to write a statement, he then immediately said the Oga was back.
The instance the oga walked into the station, it was as if the police officers we switched right b4 my eyes. They were licking his ass
Right in my front, they were also asking him to sort cause they can see he is such a nice man. (Game of numbers)
for the small remaining part of this story…
guys dem get me proper mehnn like scam me proper left and mehnn but I no go too talk am make una no laugh me
after the Oga sorted them, the police officers asked me to follow him back to his shop that he would sort my issue. I objected, insisted the man told us in the station what he was going to do when we get to his shop. The police officers said I should not worry at all, I should just follow him back that he seems like a nice person
He then told one of the female officers to escort us back to his shop to collect more cash. We got to his shop, he sorted her and she left the 2 of us immediately after arriving.
it was just me and the Goliath looking man in his office with his staff at the front side of the office. He tried apologizing in his own weird way stating that he won’t be able to refund my money but would get me a replacement. While I was seated waiting for d replacement, 2 different customers(1which seemed like a very impatient Lagos tout) came with very similar complaints of which he refunded their cash righ in my front.
For my replacement phone he said he did not have it in stock anymore and called one of his fellow traders to sell for him.
my replacement phone arrived packed and sealed just like the first one. He broke the seal, apologized one more time. He even showed me the transfer he made from his friend he got the phone from complaining he was actually running at a lost bcs he is having to buy if more than the cost I originally purchased it
Checked all I needed to check to ensure I don’t get scammed again. Everything was in place.
Left computer village feeling a little bit compensated and like a bad guy
Omoor only for me to get home and for my brother to confirm this morning that the new phone I was given again was actually a used phone too…
Omoor I just weak. Let me drop my pen here as I am still in perpetual confusion Pls, DM me, i will take the case up with your consent. |

Nairaland General › Paternity Leave For Male Public Workers by Dagger111(op): 11:42am On Sep 30, 2021 |
Paternity leave for public workers is very necessary, not only essential and beneficial for women alone but also men. There is this early bond that should coexist between a father and a child. Hence, paternity leave should be granted for men too. It also create closeness between the couples. More so, it serves as an avenue to assist the mother in doing some chores which we are very sure that she won't have the strength alone, to do all that is required for the child's growth. It will save us lot of stresses if we can have bill to back paternity leave for men. So what is your take on this my fellow Nairalanders?
Mynd44, Lalasticlala pls push to final destination. |

haslaw: You are reasoning like a typical NCO. Having a degree is not always sufficient to get commissioned. Besides, you would have applied and have been released to go for studies before such qualifications are even considered. Also the issue of age comes into play. Most fresh graduates are alway very young fit and sharp which is exactly what the military wants not some old NCO. An NCO will always behave and act like an NCO even after they have been commissioned.
Any NCO with qualifications not declared at the point of recruitment should be arrested for either going AWOL or brandishing fake qualifications because you couldn't have been in two place at the same time. It is unnecessary going into such argument with you here, as i can see that you are a typical Direct Short Service Commissioned Officer. However, i insist, if Army is to commission young NCOs with required qualifications, we will have more than enough to be commission. Albeit, how would you say NCO will always behave like one even after commissioned? That's a wrong statement and it is unmilitary for whether a commissioned or NCO to alter such utterance. I believe that's the orientation given to you while on 6months training. More like saying, the young NCOs commissioned after completion of their degree programmes still behave like other ranks. Ado, what do you mean when you say "behaving like NCO"? If at all u are really a commissioned officer in the military, I am highly disappointed in you. |

samonak: Some of the NCOs even possess BSc, MSC and even PhD! I even knew one Sgt in 82Div Enugu who had an MSC while his friend a S/Sgt had a PhD! Unfortunately, both were IBO's and had no "long leg" the military should have concentrated more on commissioning those ones especially for SSC cadre and left DSSC for blinking civilian graduates. I am telling you my gallant colleague. |

DaveDGreat: You're so spot on on this Sir. I genuinely wish for NCOs with degrees to be considered first before DSSC even if they are to serve for 10 more years. The experience gathered on the job is priceless. DSSC sabi flex power ehn I am telling you bro.... Just so, because they don't want the NCOs to benefit massively from the commissioning, it is now stated that civil certificates won't be recognized for commissioning except you are voluntarily released on long course to military institutes. Can u just imagine!!! |
NYSC › Re: Corper Explains Why Female Soldier Poured Dirty Water On Her (Video) by Dagger111(m): 12:57pm On Sep 28, 2021 |
DaveDGreat: Good day Sir. While I actively support this conversion but let's look at it from the other perspective. Would you take an NCO without proper engineering training to man an engineering/works position? An NCO who with SSCE and little or no technical/vocational skill to man Computer/IT support role in the Army?
The army recruits DSSC for shortages. They know what they're doing. DSSC is supposed to be professionals although it's quite unfortunate that some may be wicked.
Lastly, the same NA makes it hard even almost impossible for NCOs with conventional degrees to convert. Executive Commission nko? Na for small pikin? May God help us all sha. If Army is to commissioned NCO with B.Sc and HND qualifications, bro, i can tell you that we will have more than enough. The Army we have nw, lot of those SSCE guys later exploited and majority have one or 2 degree(s) combine with different professional courses. If Army is to commission them, again, we will have more than enough. The Short and Direct Short Service commission are just for the elite. Majorities have learnt nothing in school than to oppress the NCOs and civilians. A senior NCO will be willing to give a technical and tactical advise to a young commission officer but with his ego and orientation he got on that 6month cadet cadre, he will turn it down and embarrass the SNCO. Alas, it will later result to casualty in contact with foes for refusing to have let a SNCO give a technical advise. |

This looks like man problem ..seems corper dey chop captain wey lieutenant dey crush ooo You must be a military man bro, u nailed it. U see, i dont have problem with Regular officers who went to NDA for 5years rigorous military and academic training. Bt u say those civilians shortlisted for short service after their civil B.Sc or HND, they are very wicked. Nigeria system av to change, why would our constitution even support commissioning of civilians after first degree for jst 6months training when we have soldiers with 15years above that can be commissioned massively as commissioned officers. This doesn't help at all. |

After all, below is summary of ur mother and her colleagues' action towards this country.
SOCIALISM: You have two cows, and you give one to your neighbor.
COMMUNISM: You have two cows, the government takes both and gives you milk.
FASCISM: You have two cows, the government takes both and sells you milk.
NAZISM: You have two cows, the government takes them and kills you.
CAPITALISM: You have two cows, you sell one and buy a male. You multiply your cows and there is economic growth. You sell them, you retire and you live on your profits.
MODERN CAPITALISM: You have two cows, you sell one and buy a male. You multiply your cows and you buy those of your neighbors. The latter become your shepherds, you pay them in monkey currencies and they die poor.
AMERICAN SOCIETY: You have two cows, you sell one and you have to make the other one to produce milk like 4 cows. By dint of producing beyond her capacity, she dies. You take a consultant to understand this death.
FRENCH SOCIETY: You have two cows, you go on strike because you want a third.
GERMAN SOCIETY: You have two cows, you modify them so that they live 100 years, eat once a month and treat themselves.
CHINESE SOCIETY: You have two cows, you sell milk to your compatriots and you produce plastic milk to export to the rest of the world.
BLACK/ AFRICAN SOCIETY: You have two cows, you eat them all the same day and you dream that donors or the international community give you others. You turn to God and hope for miracle cattle. You fast 40 days and 40 nights without eating or drinking so that the cows will fall from heaven. At the end, you die in extreme poverty.
Nonsense people. |
