I just hope that what Adesina said recently on Chanel TV comes to reality. I'm optimistic that Nigeria will be great again. However the APC led government need more action and talk less. The fuel crisis in particular needs urgent attention. |
We are waiting. Hope the song won't change come 2019. APC with their unrealistic promise. While can't they promise consistent 5000MW and surprise us with 7500MW. I Hope Fashola will not blame vandals come 2019. I have been buying fuel for 150 in PH for the past 2months and we are still not sure when normalcy will return. FG should solve this fuel crisis palaver before promising us heaven and earth. |
Easier said than done |
Scholes007:Thanks my brother from another mother. Honestly, the south East needs to build more bridges. Be tactical while planing their politics. And never put ALL their EGGS in one basket. There should always be plan B. I see South Eastern produces president in 2023 because most Nigerians believe it's long overdue. However, This depends on how they play their politics come 2019. |
I believe PDP that they supported almost 98% in 2015 will have a rethink about their quest for Northern presidential candidate in 2019 and give them the sloth. Honestly I believe in equality and support the idea that South East produces President by 2019. However, if the region is serious about producing president of Nigeria, they need to change their political game plan. |
ddippset:Honestly, you said it all. With this level of sentiment without reasoning, we are doomed in this country. APC offense in South South and South East still remain the fact that they send GEJ packing. Even if a criminal in PDP contest against a saint in APC in these regions, PDP will still win. However I don't blame the people APC is almost a year in power and nothing to show. For over a month now we have been buying fuel for between #130 to #150 in Rivers. How do you want people in that area to cast their votes for APC. The most annoying thing is the fact that The Petrolatum Minister is doing nothing tangible to resolve the problem |
criminalmindz:Let's assumed the story is exactly as painted here, there is something critical that I need clarification on. On which capacity was SSG (WOKE) chassing Dakuku all the way from Ikwere to UTC junction in Port Harcourt; as a security agent or what? Why are these people bent on causing havoc and unrest in Rivers state. If you caught Dakuku hijacking election material on Sunday evening I think the sane thing was to inform the police. Note your true story didn't capture the fact that Dakuku ran into DSS office when he suspected assassination attempt. My pain is that the guy that died in the process is a personal assistant. These people are fighting for their selfish reasons |
My question is this " Why would Chief of staff be trailing Dakuku's convoy even if they allegedly hijacked the materials as claimed" Are they security agent? They earlier these so called gladiators both from APC and PDP put Rivers interest above their personal interest the better. They are both fighting for the soul of Rivers bcs there is Rivers in the first place. I hope they won't come to their senses while is too later I go to work today amidst fear, how on earth will I be productive. I drove from Woji to DLine with high level of uncertainty. We can't continue like this. These selfish politicians should for us think about the innocent citizens |
Honestly I totally differ from most people thought on this issue . One major fact we fail to realize here is the fact that INEC is trying to deviate from the usual practice where any thing goes and the looser will be advised to go to court. If we take southern Ijaw case in Bayelsa governorship election, the INEC old way of doing things would have accepted the 80,000 that APC was alleged to have allotted to Silver and ask PDP to go,to court. However bcs the INEC want to be ensure their fair they cancelled the election. Same thing is playing out in Rivers. We can't totally blame INEC for whatever hitches we experience bcs all along there have never be election in Nigeria up till 2015 when people vote began to count. And Rivers in unique in the sence that for the past 16years there have never have any opposition in the state. They are not used to real election, so we should expect this. Rather than castigating INEC, I believe it's high time we begin to hold our politicians accountable for whatever happens. INEC should be given conducive atmosphere to perform her constitutional role. The statement made and still making by the political gladiators ( Wike and Amaechi) it's enough to make INEC cancelled almost all the election if they suspect a single fowl play. On this same platform, most of us didn't see anything wrong regarding the hate speeches credited to the twomain gladiators building up to this election but we are so quick in condemning the INEC that want to ensure credible election. We were all in this country 2003, 2007 even in 2011, when INEC would declare election results written in,hotels. And our politician will never change if we the youths are still acting thus gullible. |
OP, in as much I support the idea that man should be financially stable before marriage but I disagree with a must to build a house. Under a normal scenario and in an idea society, you must not build a house in as much you have a reasonable income, one can go for mortgage I don't support a guy who can barely catered for himself to marry as we see in our society. However, you mustn't have everything before marriage Before I married 3years ago I dnt ve a house but I ve a car and I was sure I can cater foe two by God's grace. By God's grace now I,do ve resources to build though I decided to invest it in real estate. He who find a wife find a good thing and obtain favor from the Lord. |
I think it high time Nigeria adopt Uganda approach by banning social media during election to avoid all these fake rumours that can lead to war |
Fedayeen:How do you know that. |
chesterlee:As a neutral observer, I can assure you that PDP will not sweep ALL the seats like before. Though they will defeat APC but not to sweep ALL especially with the latest supreme court judgment that disregard the card reader coupled with recent PDP statement about how APC planned to rig the election, APC will want to flex their muscles. I foresee PDP 65% and APC 35% |
Port Harcourt is not Rivers state. Most of the killings are in the rural areas. Port Harcourt is relatively peaceful. The only challenge we are having in Port Harcourt is kidnapping. However the tempo has reduced unlike last year. The political wahala is outside PH. Everywhere is peaceful in Port. What I have come to realize is that the real politics takes place in the villages. Reason being that the people in the village are predominantly indigene and most of the youths are jobless and idle so they are basically tools in the hand of politicians. |
2sexycom:Honestly, we need more post like this. We shouldn't relent, as many that have decided to keep saying the truth. That's what we set us free from these SELFISH politicians |
Vikkie14:Which ELECTORAL MATERIALS? You guys should not be deceived by these SELFISH POLITICIANS (APC and PDP). The SENSITIVE MATERIALS arrived CBN on Wednesday and was picked by. INEC on Thursday. They have not started distribution of the the sensitive material by the time they murdered these gallant soldiers. The analysis above is not to justify any party but to prove that ALL politicians are same. How many of their close relatives have lost their lives in this election they turned into war? I'm sure you know the answer. That's why I keep advising my fellow youth to use their brains and stop supporting these USELESS politicians blindly |
Dharniel:You just picked the word from my mouth. Both parties have cult guys working for them. The two prominent leaders of the two leading parties are so reckless in their speeches. I will keep re-echoing this EVERY SOCIETY DESERVES A LEADER SHE GETS. |
Every society deserves the leader she gets. I'm so speechless for the comments our so called youths and the leaders of tomorrow are making. It's such a shame. How could any sane mind justify this terrible statement made by a governor. Honestly, I dnt care who ever make inciting statement should be totally condemned irrespective of the party. I'm not surprised by the activities of cult guys in Rivers, just analyze the governors that have governed and still governing their speech and conduct condole violence So many youths on nairaland justifying the hate speech by these politicians will surely be indoor or out of the state on Saturday. We should all condemn any act capable of causing violent irrespective of who is saying it; APC or PDP; YORUBA or IGBO or HAUSA. For now, this country belongs to ALL of US |
HIGHESTPOPORI:As in seriously. Were in in Nigeria before 2019 election? Wike with the support of Mama Peace did worst thing to Amechi. In as much I dnt support either of them with their reckless statement and immature behavior, but I believe in the law of karma |
Cpumping:the guy actually said it. Are you surprise that he said that, he has even said worst. Wike and Amechi are political thugs and not elder statesmen in any way. They lack decorum especially in the public |
I said this when supreme court discarded card reader while delivering judgment in favor of PDP that it will ruin PDP in subsequent election. I foresee this. APC is doing everything possible to win majority seats in Rivers and PMB statement in target to achieve that. APC will surely do what Wike did in 2015 and ask PDP to go to court thereafter. When we are suppose to rise and condemn the supreme court judgment rendering the card reader useless we were jubilating but now what goes around will surely comes around. Our politician are same irrespective of the party but we that bear the consequences of their actions and inactions still support them. The law should make our life better not to worsening it APC will surely render the card reader useless also and manipulate the election with security machinery and win majority seats. Some are still making reference to Bayelsa election but they forget this is the first major election after supreme court judgment. Our election will still be the winner takes it all like the previous elections before 2015 until all of us support the card reader efficiency |
sikirat2020:Rivers state is always blessed with such leader; like Wike like Amechi. Have you listened to Wike recently regarding the re-run election, you will weep for this country. We are so blessed as a nation but not with political leaders |
SycophanticGoat:In as much I'm not happy with the paste if things presently, I bet to disagree with you totally. We can only conclude on that your deductive fallacy after 16years of APC. I still insist that 16years of PDP led us to this mess. Have you asked yourself what GEJ do with oil boom. With the present revelation of Dasugate, Badehgate, Dopesigate etc we can conclude that under GEJ watch they looted the money |
badesco:bros, if you were in Rivers last election, you will know that Wike didn't win any election. The election was rigged. But the supreme court judgment will even make this election worse. The best rigger will surely take the day. Moreover, fortunately for Wike, PMB is not like the previous government who used every machinery at their disposal to rig election |
SycophanticGoat:So it's PDP that led us to this mess after 16years of looting that you think people will vote for. My dear, all politicians are the same. 19th election will be won by best rigger especially with latest supreme court judgment faulting card reader |
napoleon77:I just don't like this attitude of hypocrisy about Nigeria. So many nairaland called me so many names for admiting the clear reality. I condemn Yinusa's barbaric act in totality. I'm a father and do ve a beautiful daughter. As parent i will do everything within my power to protect her by first admitting the present reality. We shouldn't pretend about the naive attitude of these adolescent girls. A neighbor's 13years old house help who was well catered for absconded from the house for 3days. We finally found her in a batcher with an Okada rider and she claimed she loves the guy. This act happen all around us, the earlier we admit this reality the better for we parent to work extra hard to guide and protect our girls from this barbaric act That's why I keep telling parent to be closer to their children especially the adolescent girl. The truth you know shall set you free. So many of us are quoting laws, will that repair what has been damaged. From what we heard if it's truth, will the law reverse the fact that Ese will become mother at that age. Prevention is better than cure. Parent should work extra hard to protect their kids especially those that run restaurant or beer parlors |
Honestly if GEJ has acted like this man, he wouldn't have lost 2015 election. Just imagine someone like Abba Moro or whatever he's been called remain in GEJ administration till the last day despite all his atrocity |
MrAboki:Exactly my point |
Legitbaba:I leave and work in PH. I pass Nkpogu road on a daily basis before Wike blocked the road to construct the bridge. Though I'm pleased with Wike's performance so far |
YelloweWest:In as much as I dnt like saying this on a public platform, I believe you have problem of comprehending simple English. Read my comment again, I never said all the road. Most of the road is quite different from all the road. But I will ask you same question I asked earlier. Pls can you name a road that Wike has commission that he starts from scratch to finish. Don't get get me wrong, I really appreciate and commend him for his good work. He's my man at least for saving me from Woji - Slaughter night mare. I |

Tinubutoto:Dear, I leave in PH, can you give me a road that this administration as completed from scratch to finish. Don't get me wrong, I give him kudos for ensuring hr complete past administration work which is very rare in Nigeria politics especially opposition party I drive on one of the road everyday from house to work that's Woji-Odili road. I'm part of those that give him kudos for good work but that particular end of the road was about 90% completed by Amechi. However, he didn't occur to Amechi to put the final touch to the Woji - Odili road axis of the road. But Wike was able to do that to ease YKC-Slaughter road. I just give you these few tips to know that I leave and work in PH |
