Now this question is directed mainly to christians and religious folks,and I want to emphasize that the intention is not to start an unnecessary argument. This is a topic that always caught my attention and I was dissapointed to see that it hasn't been raised before on nairaland,at least not to my knowledge. I understand that there is great animosity between christians and atheists right now,Muslims as well,but my intention is not to start up an arguement on who is superior or right but to find out the views of christians concerning this. When I was a Christian I never knew of the holocaust,I only heard about the 2nd world war so I never asked myself certain questions,but now that I know about it,I would like to ask christians and theists as a whole why they think their supreme all loving,omnipotent God would allow such horrific event to occur.

p.s I would appeal that only those who know about the subject matter should comment,and not just anyone who simply looked the word up in the dictionary.If you have read or seen documentaries or movies such as "Schindler's list" or "The Pianist" then you are in a good position to comment.

and you think the Nigerian army lack these equipments?, the Nigerian air force is producing drones used for military operations, the army are equally doing a good Job, do not underestimate the Nigerian army in terms of military technology. having lived in warri for over 27 years I can boldly tell u that no aircraft is allowed to fly close to the refinery without permission, a huge magnet has been installed in and around the refinery to magnet and bring down any aircrafts flying close to the refinery, secondly there are anti aircraft missiles mounted in secrete locations some distance from the city, any military aircraft seen as a threat will be brought down by these anti aircraft missile, these missiles are usually changed every four years to meet modern standard.

The Nigerian military LACKS modern equipments, they have nothing. They've been using propaganda to deceive people for many years until Boko Haram came and exposed them and showed the world they had nothing. Even GEJ was shocked to discover that oit military equipment were all obsolete. It was during the peak of the war that president GEJ bought some T-72 tanks in Febuary 2015 into the theater of war. T-72 isn't a mordern tank. It's a second generation tank. But that is the best we have now and that is what we are using together with a few MRWAP that were donated to us by the USA.

The Nigerian army lacks good, mordern and long range weapons like the AA GUNS, mortar tubes, guided missiles and artillery weapons like shilka guns etc. We don't have them in adequate numbers. That is why we are loosing so many soldiers in the theater, if we had good and mordern long range missiles they would have been doing the job and we wouldn't have been exposing our soldiers to open combat. We lack trackers, radars, night vision equipments and all.

The Nigerian airforce is still using Alpha Jets and chinese J7 as their fighter jets, these are planes that have been decommissioned in the 1980s and are mostly used as trainer aircraft in other countries.

Our military is very poor, they don't have anything valuable. The Nigerian military does NOT produce any drone of its own. The last arrivals we have are from Portugal and they are outdated, even the Portuguese military doesn't use them anymore. That is what we use for reconnaissance at the moment.

I know alot about the Nigerian military because I am very close to them. I worked with them in the past. If not because of the sensitivity of the issue I would have posted some of the private pictures of the recently aquired drones from Portugal.

The Nigerian military is known for its human rights violations. It is so bad that the US and other Western countries refused to sell weapons to it based on its very poor record on human rights.

Shut up! Are the Nigerian military better than the Boko Haram people? The Nigerian military kill, bully and maim civilians just like the Boko Haram people and other criminals. That is a fact. I have a friend that is paralyzed now because of military brutality, a younger brother's friend lost an eye because of military brutality. There are so many untold stories like that all over the country. The last time the Nigerian airforce bomb an IDP camp killing IDPs and aid workers, their first attempt was to deny the incident, before they later accepted and excused it as a marking error. How many officers were placed under observation for bullying, maiming and killing civilians? They are no different from Boko Haram as far as am concerned. They should all die unless they change their ways.

Nigerian soldiers are animals. I never feel sorry for them when they are killed by Boko Haram. In fact Boko Haram should be attacking and killing them alone and leave we civilians alone.

You think physical training is all there is too military training? Which modern weapons do they use in training them? They are ill trained and ill equipped. Drop and F-16 fighter jet and no body in the Nigerian airforce will be able to fly it. Drop a modern cruise missile launcher and nobody in the Nigerian army will be able to operate it.

You think carrying heavy load on your back and running kilometers with it is what military training is all about.

Christians have killed each other over these issues in the past. It's not as if they've never done it.

Christianity has more sects because as a religion it has freed itself from the firm grip of the theocrats. Theocracy no longer has power over the people unlike in Islam. This alone has made christianity less conservative and christians more open minded and liberal than muslims.

As a white man's religion his enlightenment and constant evolution has also affected the religion so to the extent that there is no universally accepted christian doctrine. People just self project themselves as God and give their personal opinions and interpretation as the ultimate. Sick there is no governing body to keep them.in check they are free to create what ever sect they want to create and interpretthe bible they way they want to interprete it.

Christians just pick and chose what ever part of the bible they want to accept based on personal opinions and run away with it unlike in Islam where interpretation is rigid and the opinion of the early scholars have to be strictly adhered to.

There are so many perspectives of this which I don't want to go into. Eg From an idealist perspective, there is no such thing as matter(matter does not exist ) just minds(mental/non-physical ) and their ideas . So all that exists are just ideas in the mind of God .

And for interaction, there are so many perspectives. Eg A pandeist believes that communication among conscious beings is a form of interaction with the divine . Another one is that God interacts through theophanies (divine manifestation of Itself in material form eg burning bush in the bible, a bright light during Paul's conversion on his journey to Damascus. ) .

God can also interact through our sub conscious which is seen as intermediary between our finite minds and the universal mind/infinite intelligence /God . And we can draw knowledge from it through practices like meditation etc

The immaterial God can also communicate to us though our spirit (our true self ) which is immaterial as It is .

There are so many ways to look at it .
