First, l am well-to-do-enough and buying second hand cloths will not even cross my mind but l know and sympathise with those who do, because that is WHAT THEY CAN AFFORD. - Second hand Cloths are not dirty, if any of them is soiled by the previous user, they are washed before being sold. - Second Hand clothes are also DISINFECTED THOROUGHLY before they are compressed into Bails and Shipped. If you don beleive me, ty and smell a just imported (juts bought) second hand cloths and you will smell a "Perculiar Perfume" on it and on EVERY second hand cloth. That "Perfume" is a DISINFECTANT and it is not there just to make it smel nice. It may interest you that less priviledged Americans and Europeans (where most of this second hand clothings come from), also buy and wear these second hand cloths, in their own country That is why l say you are ignorant of how it is. But the more important things are these: - Is Second Hand Clothes responsible for lack of electricity, lack of Roads, lack of Water, lack of housing, lack of security, lack or non existent health care facilities, dilapidated educational facilities, infant mortality, Boko Haram, Almanjeri Children in the North, looting and Corruption by the Executive and the Legislature, Kidnapping, e.t.c and is the impounding of Second Hand Clothes inside Southern people's shop and destroying their source of livelihood MORE IMPORTANT than all the above problems which this tyranic and clanish Govt of General Buhari has failed to solve in almost five years? WHY is this Major General Buhari and his henchmen so intent of chasing Ring Worm, while allowing Leprosy to fester? What offense did the South of Nigeria (Igbos, South-South and Yoruba especially) commit against Buhari that he is so intense in destroying them, their livelihood/business and making them subservient to the Fulanis and North in general? Why are we paying Customs Officers, to collect Bribes at the Border and allow this goods inside the country, only to them turn around and start breaking into people's shop, to sieze the same goods? Nigerians must revolt against these nonsense. Now, on the issue of overhanging electric wires across the building, as much as it makes sense to use something that cannot be electrified, l think there are better options that doing a complete decking! 1.) Re-routing the wires to avod the roof area, by buying additional one of two electric poles and routing the wires through them to circumvent the roof areas. Mind you, this owner could have problems in the future as it is illegal to have electric cables passing over buildings, an absolute no-no with building authorities 2.) Using this breakable, "asbestos-like" roofing sheets; l cant remember what they are called but they are non-conducting, in place of iron/aluminium roofing sheets. The biggets problem that BQ will have is the heat that they will face inside! I have lived in a building with decked roof (overflow where we use to relax in the night, watching and gazing at the stars and some areas of it was used for Water tanks). From around 2pm in the afternoon, you cannot stay inside the house, even with all windows opened (or with AC blasting and windows closed!) because[b] it was basically an oven. Even when air was blowing freely, the air was hot. If you blast the fan, it is as if somebody is spraying you with hot air.[/b] The walls facing the sun in the evening were the worst, they get hot till as late as 2:30am in the midnight, after which it gradually starts cooling down and once it is sunrise, the problem starts again. If you go out to work in the morning and house is partially closed (doors, and some windows, in case it rains), by the time you come back, any raw item on the kitchen table is COOKED! Butter is melted and PVC items like soles or shoes begin to decompose and just breakdown into powder (I lost a few Italian shoes to this disaster before l realised it was the cuase! Anything that is held together with gum, gets detached as the gum loses grip at such temperatures! Silicone used in electronics, starts to dissolve inside the equipment. At a point, it began to affect the health of we occupants as our body temperature is always above normal. Our Doctor said we were literally "cooking ourselves and internal organs"! Until we had another building built, moved into that, l then have to remove all the roof deckings. The otherside ot this problem, as you mentioned, is the depth of cold, on rainy or cloudy days. It goes from extreme heat on sunny days, to damaging cold on rainy days, especially at night. Trust me, from experience (l lived under these conditions for almost ten years!), l would never for any reason, allow anyone to deck their roof, except they are going to cover it from the direct impact of the sun. And the sun we have in Nigeria, under the current "climate change" is hotter than hellfire itself. You are doing a great Job Spyder but please, advice this house owner again, its not too late to save the health of the occupants of that BQ, even if they are poor gatemen or shop assistants. 1 Like |

We now have a situation where Political Thugs, Touts and Miscreants who through the sponsorship of their God-fathers, find themselves in Political offices and without any respect for Laws, Culture or Tradition, rubbishes all institutions that hiterto, where used to hold the society together. These are very bad precedents and the repercusions will come when we lieast expect it and in ways we will not like. Buhari needs to call his goons toorder. BTW: The South East Ndigbo states asked Buhari to remove Soldiers from their communities, citing harrassment and intimidation. Buhari refused, citing insecurity. Today, Buhari removed soldiers from three states in the North (Benue, Nassarawa and Taraba). The question people are asking are: 1.) Which of these Northern states are more secure than the states in the south East, bearing in mind they are all Boko haram and kidnapping territory? 2.) Which of the Southern states houses IDP's in their millions, due to insecurity, like these Northern states? 3.) Is this further evidence of the Northern domination, harrassment and oppression of Ndigbo and when will these despicable actions stop? |

You can state you ropinion civily, showing good upbringing, without insulting anyone. We are here just to exchange ideas and opinions, even when we defer in our positions. While l cannot speak for Yorubas, l can assure you that they dont practice this your Policy of HATRED, ANGER and REVENGE. That you try to masquerade your real intentions under the cloak of "outcast vote", doe snot wash one bit. Dont expect Yorubas to stoop that low, repay evil with evil or do one thing and start whinning and pretending that they did another thin....there is a reason why we call them the "sophisticated tribe" among all Nigerians. An form of jealousy cannot change that. The ONLY REASON Igbos voted for OBJ in 1999 9while now pretending and claiming they voted for a Yoruba "outcast" candidate ) is because as long as it is what the Yorubas dont want, they will vote for it! Even if you present a Cow against a Yoruba candidate, you can bet the MOST Igbos will vote for that cow, just to cement their hatred for Yorubas.And please dont confuse Igbos with ALL NIGERIANS, you knw better than that. militarily:In that election where Igbos supported Obasanjo, as a PDP aspirant, the Yorubas prsented Chief Olu Falae, as the Yoruba candidate, under the auspices of Acion for Democracy (A.D). But because you are AGAINST the Yoruba choice (which was Falae under AD), a susual, in your hatred for Yorubas, you wnet and support PDP which had OBj as its flagbearer. So, dont thinhk you can be clever by half, by calling OBJ an outcast, your actions can be predicted like NEPA not supplying power. But that is even a small issue, the important thing you should worry about is whether your aspirations can be realised with the Northern Power Brokers or with SW Yorubas.
