I just got a call from a friend who also got an Intel from another friend of hers that the DE list is out. Raising or sharing an unverified information here would mean a hoax, cynical scandal, targeted at animating helluva hysteria; which is unhelpful, and more grave, patently criminal, especially at this hour. I therefore want to implore the intellectual avatars in the house who share beds of intimacy with the genuine corridors of power to appeal to their sources and determine the veracity of this claim. Regards. |
A lot has been said in this thread, many of which may leave us rather more confused. First of all, we need to check the commonplace error of mistaking our physical bodies for our real being. Think about this; when somebody is said to be dead, you still see that body. But the body is motionless, inactive and therefore pronounced dead. Definitely, the body has only been animated by something which gives it life - ability. That which gives life to that body is the spirit, the real being, the core. When a child is newly born, it is helpless and seems innocuous. It grows by eating foods. It could have died if it suffers food deprivation. The spirit lies quietly within and gradually makes breakthrough as the body, too, increases in maturity. Now fully grown, he then sees himself as the center of the world, because he is able to control this or that by exercising his freewill. He feel himself important. After some years, his temperament changes; and his bodily strength could no longer command that youthful vigor, thereby becoming weak and weaker. The weak body is soon discarded, and the spirit severs itself, journeying to other spheres of creation. It may be given an opportunity to come on earth again, and in a new physical body through the same process of procreation, incarnation and birth, thus, forming a circle. The deeds of the spirit make it imprints on the soul, invisible to the physical eye. And man must taste of the fruit of what he has sown, whether here on earth or in the beyond. The dissolution of the physical body does not cancel anything. The body we cherish so much has a very short life span, but the spirit is eternal, coming and going. If people can easily get away with evil things they have done, what would then be Divine Justice? Can God, or rather, the Being behind the institution of this orderly Creation be arbitrary, and thereby questioned to deficiency in perfection? What will be the fate of those who have diligently sought the Will of the Almighty? Why would there be warnings from prophets, admonitions here and there for the stubbornly pervert human beings to turn a new leaf? The Law still stands that whatever a man sows that shall he reap. No one can escape this. |
We are creatures of habit. We sometimes make vows to stop doing some certain things which we consider unwholesome and harmful to our material or spiritual lives. We label them shortcomings but, again and oftentimes, found ourselves in that quagmire, struggling again to get out of it. This, we usually do at the beginning of a new year. About two months to the end of this year, you can make an appraisal as to how you fare, measuring against the resolutions you set for yourself at the beginning of this year. Are you faring better or waiting for the year to end quickly and make another ineffectual ritual? |
carlwinnie:Hello dear, take heart, pray and be not depressed. Raise your head proudly high and be grateful for the experiences that life is taking you through. Heart break can be one of the most unsavory experiences one could ever go through. A friend of mine said: 'emotions are powerful.' This is true. But again, the fear of breakup should not prevent one from sincere involvement in emotional intimacy. Yes, things usually don't go the way we wanted or planned them to be. It's all for the good. And It is equally wise to your advantage that you can see it coming already. I will advise that you do not fight it, do not resist the natural change but welcome it with ease and calm. The internal resistance is what brings pain. Remember the law of 'impermanence and the cycle of life.' Everything changes. Every material substance irrespective of its density has the inherent property of mutability. Thoughts, opinions, deeds, objects, etc, even the earth and its inhabitants, change when the time is due. It is a true saying that 'what makes us happy can also makes us sad'. In all things that we do or that we aspire to have , we should try and regard them for what they really are, avoiding the temptation of attachment; for the pleasures or joys we derive from having them are only ephemeral which is subject to change. Our Love for the Almighty God should stand above all. This is what brings true peace and happiness. You are happy whether you have things you regard as 'good and valuable', or not. If I may have your e-mail address, I'd like to send you some links/articles that might be of comforting worth. Thanks. |
Raufrukayat:I read through your file, posts, followings, etc etc and I must say that I am impressed by your simplicity of style and expression. I was at first restrained to make this historic confession owing to the infamous luxury of social misrepresentation. More dazzling is the humble tone delivery that is conveyed in every of your lexical texts, wits, humour, which register a reflection of true elegance, gravitas, culture and civility. This is an heartening reminder to the hope of emerging noble womanhood, scattered round the globe like oases of especial breeding. Dear reader, don't mind my grammar. The growing army of lackluster 'modern' women is not only heart-rending but despairing. I therefore assume the onus to avail this medium the recognition of an identified exemplar, (sic) in my opinion. Ms. Rukayat, may this be an encouragement to you, myself and others, to keep living up to the dictates of our chosen faith. Wishing you Eid-el-kabir. To our admirable friends in the house, in the spirit of the sallah season, I wish us all the best. Cheers......! |
can you watch YouTube with it? Are you sure it is not restricted only to social networks? |
When the scriptures say ''the heart of a man is full of ....'' . Let's encourage app developers to fashion out high-powered sleaze baron and baroness tracker, some sort of anti-graft algorithm, making the system of government corrupt free as much as possible and not the ones that would enhance corruption. Cheating of any kind is also corruption. |

Horlarsky: israelboy1:I guess many are solemnly following the thread from the background and would not want to heighten up the already saturated anticipation of people who are yearning and waiting anxiously for the much coveted list, lest, ready to be otherwise descended on in united animosity...etc..etc.. fonzie2u:Thanks. I have the iPad now. It is iPad air 2. I think the Os is 8.3 or so. I have created an account with apple. I just downloaded opera mini. What more do I need to do as the tablet still appears not much different from my Techno phantom pad N9? iPad's air screen is OK, unarguably. Please I need more of your input on enjoying the tab to the fullest. .... |

jidowu:You mean someone at Futa or where? And even if the payment is made, would the site for registeration still accept it? Thanks. |
Please help. I am yet to make payment on E-tranzact. From experience, do you think Futa might extend registration till Monday as against the closing date which is today? |

Is there a way round to do the registration as most banks are not working on Saturday for the e-tranzact? |
Let us amuse ourselves a little. Nigerians are known for the craze with which they embrace new fads. Be it in music, fashion, business, delicacy, etc etc. Gone are the days when everybody wants to be a seller of quail eggs, propagating its wondrous potency as medicine with might and passion, and, as a provable relaible business enterprise. Where are the crusaders? |
. it's a common trend in campuses to see students take someone as a 'school daughter, school brother' etc. etc. Does it suggest a secret wish for something deeper than the mere façade of 'just friends' as they always claim? |
The National Universities Commission (NUC) Thursday warned Nigerians against patronising online universities and other degree awarding institutions operating online saying that any certificate obtained from such institutions is not recognised. Speaking at a press conference at the Headquarters of the Commission, Director, Information and Public Relations, Ibrahim Yakasai stressed that degrees obtained online are not accepted in the country. He said, “Nigeria will not recognize online degrees. Online degrees are not accepted in Nigeria at the moment.” This was as he also warned Nigerian students and parents against patronising Maryam Abacha American University, Niger Republic noting that the Commission has been inundated with enquiries from some Nigerian students who had been offered admission in the university. He disclosed that the concerned students were offered admissions on part-time with a graduation time of four semesters for programmes like Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Public Health among others. “In Nigeria the duration for a full time degree programme is not less than three years for direct entry and at least six years for part-time, while professional programmes in Science, Engineering and Health Sciences including Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science and Public Health are not offered on part-time basis in Nigeria. Also, all part- time cross boarder education in Nigeria is not allowed,” he explained Yakasai further lamented that the university admits Nigerian students who do not have the basic requirements to gain admission into the nation’s tertiary institutions in addition to running courses such as Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science on part-time basis which according to him is not acceptable. While disclosing that Ghana National Accreditation Board (NAB) has banned 53 tertiary institutions in Ghana some of which Nigerian students run to from advertising and admitting students due to lack of qualification, Yakasai noted that all countries are at liberty to accept or reject certificates from any foreign university they felt is operating below their acceptable standards. “We wish to restate that as the only quality assurance agency for universities in Nigeria, the NUC is maintaining its stand that degrees from Maryam Abacha University will not be accepted in Nigeria,” he said. http://thenationonlineng.net/nuc-rejects-online-degrees/ |
There will always be exception to every rule. Meanwhile, let us also examine professionals such as: Lecturer, Scientist, Journalist, writer, Architect. Are they not highly likely to divorce? |
Thanks. Could you please recommend books that teach more on this subject! And if you've written any unpublished material as well, I wouldn't mind exploring them. |
Excerpts from Napoleon Hill's Think And Grow Rich ''I discovered, from the analysis of over 25,000 people, that men who succeed in an outstanding way, seldom do so before the age of forty, and more often they do not strike their real pace until they are well beyond the age of fifty. This fact was so astounding that it prompted me to go into the study of its cause most carefully, carrying the investigation over a period of more than twelve years. ''This study disclosed the fact that the major reason why the majority of men who succeed do not begin to do so before the age of forty to fifty, is their tendency to DISSIPATE their energies through over indulgence in physical expression of the emotion of sex. The majority of men never learn that the urge of sex has other possibilities, which far transcend in importance, that of mere physical expression. The majority of those who make this discovery, do so after having wasted many years at a period when the sex energy is at its height, prior to the age of forty-five to fifty. This usually is followed by noteworthy achievement. ''The lives of many men up to, and sometimes well past the age of forty, reflect a continued dissipation of energies, which could have been more profitably turned into better channels. ''The most powerful of all human emotions is that of sex. There are other mind stimulants... but no one of them, nor all of them combined, can equal the driving power of sex. ''The salesman who knows how to take his mind off the subject of sex, and direct it in sales effort with as much enthusiasm and determination as he would apply to its original purpose, has acquired the art of sex transmutation, whether he knows it or not. The majority of salesmen who transmute their sex energy do so without being in the least aware of what they are doing, or how they are doing it. ''The entire subject of sex is one with which the majority of people appear to be unpardonably ignorant. Men and women who are known to be blessed--yes, BLESSED--with highly sexed natures, are usually looked upon as being people who will bear watching. Instead of being called blessed, they are usually called cursed. ''Intemperance in sex habits is just as detrimental as intemperance in habits of drinking and eating. In this age in which we live, an age which began with the world war, intemperance in habits of sex is common. This orgy of indulgence may account for the shortage of great leaders. No man can avail himself of the forces of his creative imagination, while dissipating them. Man is the only creature on earth which violates Nature's purpose in this connection. Every other animal indulges its sex nature in moderation, and with purpose which harmonizes with the laws of nature. Every other animal responds to the call of sex only in "season." Man's inclination is to declare "open season." ''The years between forty and fifty are, as a rule, the most fruitful. Man should approach this age, not with fear and trembling, but with hope and eager anticipation. Between the ages of thirty and forty, man begins to learn (if he ever learns), the art of sex transmutation. ''There should be no disappointment over love, and there would be none if people understood the difference between the emotions of love and sex. The major difference is that love is spiritual, while sex is biological. No experience, which touches the human heart with a spiritual force, can possibly be harmful, except through ignorance, or jealousy. The alternate American pronunciations to these words are equally correct, but for the sake of this discuss, we limit our focus to Queens pronunciations (British). I hope you learned something useful. Feel free to make contributions. God bless, and have a good night! *Follow "phonetikkks" for more lessons. Can check my previous threads as well... ht/fine-madam-oga-why-bad
m-oga-why-bad
I appreciate the good work the OP has started here, and your humble disposition to corrections from sincere contributors. No one knows too much to learn anew. Please don't mind my asking for clarification here. In the above quoted text of yours, should it be ''....but for the sake of this discuss or discourse?'' I also observed that the bracketed letters are vowels; can this be taken into cognizance which may help us in pronouncing others words of same lexical rhythm? Thank you. |
Be it employer to employee, lovers, family members or friends, when relationship gets too close, it comes natural to people, even among the educated, to want to claim some grounds, invade spaces. They give little weight and seriousness to opinions and decisions, which may be really offending. It shows itself in the manner they convey their messages, address us, handle our belongings and how they treat us in general. They cross boundaries without remorse, bringing about a lessening of value and worth. It may not be far to realize this as a result of the closeness. But we are restrained by courtesy, and fear we might weaken the bonds of the relationship if we register how we really feel deep down. The recurrence of this attitude builds up overtime residue of resentment which may backfire in a disproportionate lousy scene over a future apparently minor matter. We sometimes get confused about how and where to draw the line. And our dear ego, too, demands respect, honour, freedom and independence of expression. It is not bad to form close union. Infact the familiarity should give way to enhancing high esteem of the individual. We don't really want to come across as someone to be feared, as someone people feel like nervously walking on egg-shell when relating to. Lest you are tagged 'proud and classy'. I see it as maturity when people treat each other with decency, decorum, sensitivity and the deserved respect no matter how close. It exhibits civility and creates an atmosphere of harmony. Is it then safer to heed the saying, '' better be feared than loved?' How can we handle close pals who have no sense of separateness? |
It all depends on your values, aspirations and what you hold dear. A lot of young men, and woman especially, live under the sinister delusion that marriage is the highest and their main vocation on earth. When it is said that 'marriages are made in heaven'', it is true. But most marriages of today seem to negate the truthfulness of that saying by the apparent effects of decay they visibly bear. The marriages themselves are to be pilloried, not the saying. Seldom is ideal marriage seen. A union entered into without much reflection depends on luck for its happiness as the chance of turning up a double six in a throw of dice. A human being on earth can either carry a negative pole (female) or positive pole (male). Like a magnet of unlike polarity, It is an inherent quality of a part-specie to desire and strive for a union for it to become a whole specie which can really be of full value. (Hence, the reason people feel subconsciously they need to just get marry without their knowing why). The blending of the complementary qualities in both bring about perfection, only if they are striving towards noble things. It doesn't matter whether you are esteemed by your neighbour. Each individual bears full responsibility for whatever he thinks and does. The desire to procreate is the exclusive preserve of the parties involved as it is not a necessary condition for a harmonious relationship. A woman carries a delicate and higher inner sensing than the man, which is also evident in their physical bodies. The man is to face outward battle while the woman supply the strength needed by her constant connection with the power centre from above. They need not enter into marriage here on earth, nor need they be acquainted in any way; only that their striving must be towards the Light. Yes, you can live a fulfilling life whether single or married but if you do earnestly desire to contract marriage anyway, do not be superficial. A great curse rests on whoever desecrate the sacredness of the high institution. Turn to your inner voice for answers and your path will become clear with soft carpets full of roses. Note: I recommend that you read some articles on 'schizoid personality.' Thanks. |
