Pearl1910:Now this is a good point... On this platform, driver complain that riders are paying ging too low, ride is cheap.. The app company did a slight increase, plus bonus, plus regular surge, driver makes more money now, but same driver want partners to remain d same.... On friday, nearly all d babes in my office were struggling to get uber to go home.. Right in front of me ride was showing 11k to go from oniru to omole, yes traffic was huge but i shock.. A driver will pocket that one and still gives the OWNER of d car 20k at d end of d week.. I had small fuel in my car, had to quickly refil to half tank, left oniru 11pm and got to ketu 2am, my fuel was still around quarter. Maybe i use 1,200 fuel for d trip.. So if am on uber, i might pocket like 8k for that single trip, if am paying Owner per trip let assume, i will go and give him 1k...because i have been stress to achieve that.. Its not fair.. |
izzou:Its crazy for car owner i swear... Once you save some cash, d guy show up with a huge maintenance and everything or most it will just zoom... And you start saving again.. Had to tell my driver that am not buying tires again, he should sort it out.. But the truth is, its your CAR, you really really and always wants to see it in great shape. This guys dont really care... Dru is a bit lucky, he has access/location to his favour, he get car at rock bottom prices due to his access, he get good quality spare part due to his access.. If he decided to start buying corrolla today, he might not spend up to 2m to get it here... |
IFSHR:Honestly bro, am not suggesting anything, because its meaningless, i cant regulate or enforce it... Car owner has much much more to lose, in my opinion.. All the threat, danger and risk you face and complain about, i already face and embrace it while looking for that 2.5 million to buy the car, so its ur turn, embrace it!.. Do you know why most car owners take care of maintenance in most cases 100%? Because their eyes is on the investment, d 2.5m.. They want to protect it.. No driver can maintain a car d way the owner will do it, its his car after all. So why should i get peanut, and do 100% maintenance.. We are losing. |
IFSHR:No sir, its not easy to be honest.. Its not about lion share, its about being reasonable and fair.. I work for someone, i earn salary, i got a degree to be qualified for that job, i put in alot of effort to get that degree, i leave my house 5am everyday to get to work 7/8am....You see that my CEO, she stays in banana island, usually come to work around 11am or even 1pm, sometimes she does not show up self and there is nothing we can do.. My self and all other staff put in the CRAFT and INTELLIGENCE, facing threat every day at different bus stop, jumping bus etc.. You know what, on monday am going to walk up to my boss and explain to her, why i should be earning more than her? Pls advice me.. You see how you driver reason here.. |
IFSHR: |
The only reason i decided to handle maintenance is because an average Nig driver lacks maintenance culture, even on his personal car, not to talk of a rental car. Do you know that a mad driver bought all this oil in eva/ragolis bottle and pour into my 2006 corrolla? A driver that remit 15k weekly, which i later increase to 20k.. Look at all the dashboard drivers has been posting for the past one month here, how can you be making such money and yet be asking for 25k weekly, out of an average of 100k net? You know what, you guys see car owner as someone who has money and probably doesn't know what to do with it, and you see yourself as PROBLEM that needs all d money to get fixed, hence, you should earn 3/4.... You are not different from all thos agbero driving T4 or LT.. But you forgot one thing, once they take that car from you, you go back to your crumbs.. Car owner will still survive. You were not remitting a kobo b4 he bought his car.. Lets be fair.. |
Someone said he invested 2.5 million for a car, another said he invested his ENERGY so the energy man should earn more than the man who put in his cash... You see why some of you might end up being a driver for LIFE... Such cruel mentality.. |
Pearl1910:Driver should use all this intelligence and craft to make 2.5 million or 1.5 atleast and buy a CAR.. Eyin onisolenu po lori platform yii... See talk! |
Pls house, have been reading about this bio-Digester soakaway... Pls what are the pros and cons? Would you recommend it against the conventional soakaway? I am yet to see any of you talk about it or even try it, or recommend it for your client. What do you all think about it? Can you recommend it? @next @Egunmogaji @spyder etc |
harley88:Phone number...Location |
spyder880:LMAO, i almost fell off my chair now...That is lagos for you my brother. You made me remember my uncle that stays in ibadan in the early nineties...Whenever hes coming to lagos, he drives his own car. He will call my parent to arrange a driver for him. The driver will be at Berger bus stop, they will exchange wheel from there and the driver will drive him all tru the one week or less that he plans to stays in lagos. His usual word is this, Aburo, mi o le gbe eko yin o, mi o de le wa oko nibi bayii. (My brother, i cant stay or drive in this your lagos o).. That was 93/94 ooo, you can imagine today! |
nickyvil:The right word is EMPATHY (the ability to understand and share the feeling of others)..At first the seller was making sense but he lack empathy. He kept saying the item was sold 2-3 weeks ago. Are you saying a microwave is supposed to last 2 to 3 week? Either used or new? Also, he kept saying it was tested, yes i agree it was tested, but by who? A dispatched rider? Abeg i have a microwave at home and here in my office, i still struggles with it especially those ones with many buttons. The buyer wasn't saying the machines isn't working. She said it work for a few mins and STOP! So i assumed it was tested for a few mins with the dispatched rider, and THEY STOP it! Dispatch rider assume its okay now so far e dey hot! Is that not all there is in a microwave. And that whatsapp chat is all any discerning mind needs to see to know what truly transpire...And if you believe there is any NEIGHBOR in the whole transaction, you need to have your head check. All we ask for is FULL DISCLOSURE.....tell your buyer EVERYTHING they need to know, defective item can be sold as clearance, infact one of the reason why an item can be sold as clearance might be because it is defective, but please, FULL DISCLOSURE. Even after everything, a new or used item can still be sold and it get bad, not seller or buyers fault. This is where we need to show EMPATHY. A woman told you she just gave birth and that is the reason she has not been able to personally test the MCW in 2 weeks and you talk carelessly at her in such manner, you are not fair. Do you know how difficult it is to raise a kobo in this harsh economy now? Please, lets always show some empathy in our dealings here. |

harley88:But what you desire in BANK B is not certain! Am a risk taker but i think this is not looking good; considering the outlook of this country. I will ask that you continue with BANK A, since its not certain BANK B will give you exactly what you wanted. Stay with BANK A, take courses, acquired more certification, and PRAY.. You are young. You will GROW!!! #FromExperience. |
rmx:Yes, but they won't stay... Why collect my money? The reason why I put your ass on the project is because I knew you're good and you're a professional. Why not sit your ass down and focus on my job if you've been paid and you agreed! |
Hmmn, one tiring aspect of building, from the owners perspective is when you have made frantic effort to search for a supposedly qualified builder/engineer, negotiated, paid and what he does is just to assembly some local slowpoke called artisans together, take them to the site, mobilize them (with a very tiny fraction of what you paid him), and off he disappears! You won't see him again! He shows up only to ask for balance, this is my headache with you guys, all my friends and family that are building also have the same or similar situation...... Anytime I talk about engineers or even architect, experience friends and family member go just laugh, their thought, 'just assemble those artisan together and tell them what you want to achieve'... Your so called engr will most likely do the same... This method doesn't resonate with me, but it's just what it is.. |
Wow so so revealing and many thanks to lastpage and all other beautiful contributors... My own case is quite a dilemma... I have stays in a rented apartment for about 5 years now, and you know what, like lastpage said, I paid for agreement, agency fee, caution fee but I did not get a single document... In fact, since have been paying rent (Tru bank transfers of course), my landlord/agent just acknowledge with a text message and that is it.. He's not disturbing me, and am not disturbing him, we are cool... I have never received a single receipt for all payment, neither did I get any document termed agreement. I have never been worried, seems I am now.. I pay a little above a mil.. What do you think lastpage and all other contributor pls? |
segzy14:Boss, we are waiting for you to do this. Thanks |
XGhost:You don't even need to post all this.. I get what you're saying, I may not agree with you analysis on the Volvo yet (I believe is too early to conclude), but I believe the price you quoted for the corolla... Many people don't understand the car market. Why you were buying your corolla for 1.7, 1.8, some others got theirs for 2.2 or even 2.3 self, why other even got theirs for 1.6, all TOKS.. You see, toks pass toks... A well graded toks corolla, non accidented with a very low mileage, buy and drive, with a road worthiness that is still valid abroad can be 2.2 or even more in 2017.. |
micgray100:Following you on this.. Once its done, I will like you to share work done, am interested pls. |
Uniquewise:LMAO... See excuse.. Just negodu.. Nigerians don't ever change.. Using another pics to sell your product and when you got busted you came out with this.. Pathetic... Shame on you. |
geunik:. I do alot of stuff for wify that i cant even tell people outside. Just say it nicely and am off....I hate to see my woman stressed out. |
I shared this topic with colleague in my office just now and everywhere don scatter, everywhere don burst.... The truth is, you married a good man and you should be proud of him. He set up a business for you when things were booming with him and that shows your man is not just caring but had foresight. Secondly, he went to the sch to pick up the kids, am assuming he does that everyday since he lost his job, that means he's reasonably and he tries to support you and the family in the best way he can, he's a good man. I honestly believe that washing the dishes wouldn't have been a big deal for him, only if you ask NICELY, or you allow him make the decision himself...Assuming he enters the restaurant, he sees how busy you were and he just started making effort to ASSIST you. I don't know your man but he appears like someone who would have helped you, nevertheless. But you goofed, you bruise his ego in PUBLIC. Where i come from, we call it lack of respect! I will not accept such from my wife , but i wont slap her, we dont touch women in my place, i will just WALK away, maybe not come to the restaurant again or atleast for a while. This marriage no get manual, we have different level of UNDERSTANDING, a male colleague of mine just said he will do it because the restaurant is what is paying the bills at the moment, hes not stupid, it is call understanding between him and his wife. We all need to know the LEVEL of UNDERSTANDING between us and our wife. Once you know this, you will know what to ask, how to ask and what to expect in return. Please, get your man , apologies to him, no be everybody be romeo and juliet. |
The truth is the tenant no get agreement with the new owner, his agreement is with the former owner. The new owner cannot do much, only tru NEGOTIATION. If the tenant is a PAYING tenant, na to negotiate with him. He has his right as a tenant and the law favours them. Let me share an experience with you. I know someone that bought a house around tejuoso side, it has about 12 tenant; they all have different date when their rent will expire. I think the longest was about 6 month. Immediately he bought the house, he had a meeting with them, introduce himself as the new landlord and that hes not renting the place as he wants to demolish. As expected, he waited for all of their rent to expire (6 month), gave them another 3 month extra, about 8 tenant moved, remaining 4. The others claim they don't have money, after a lot of back and forth, he has to give them money, believe me hes not a stupid guy, but going through the law process will be very long, or unless you want to use charms or thug, he wasn't interested in both. AT the end of 11 month, 11 tenant left and the last tenant quickly took the new landlord to court, according to him, to enforce his fundamental human right, it was a messy situation. Took him 2 years to get everyone out of the house; with alot of money spent. Your situation might appear simple, but believe me, you need tact. Godspeed sir. |
Adedward:I honestly don't have any prob with you, in fact you're the greatest and ONLY beneficiary from all of this and I say congratulations... It was an unwise decision from hslbroker to have awarded the contract to you under any guise. He should have returned the money Tru any means to focus mind. And to all artisan, when you get a job to execute a project, do it within the agreed time frame, once the price change, pls endeavor to return money to the owner. The average mindset of a Nigerian is this, we will be happy if you come back to me and say, oga price don change for market, na your 100k be this but I fit do am if you go add 30k..This alone is INTEGRITY considering the environment we found ourselves. |
I was really sad reading focusmind submission here. I just had to imagine myself in his shoes. It's just sad to imagine! The whole deal is ALMOST a total loss to him, you can also imagine the loss in terms of TIME and ENERGY he must have invest in this whole thing, to get a product that is of low quality....Dealing with artisans in Nigeria can be draining, it can take away your soul. You hardly see a sane one this days! My wife gave a carpenter, just on my street 120k since oct for her kitchen cabinet, till today the guy disappear, this is someone we have known for two years. Please, what can 120k change in a man's life? with two children o! On this platform, i called an architect and we agreed on a certain amount for a 3 bed plan. We agreed on payment. Later i called and demanded for some modification, he said no problem but i will add more money, we agreed on what to add and he proceed. After few days he called that the modification cannot work due to the size of the land and he propose another type of modification, again we agreed. Later again, he called that all modification (mine and his) cannot work and that we should revert back to the first plan, grudgingly i said okay just revert back to our initial plan, the very first one. Abeg, is it not expected that we revert back to the old price that we initially agreed on. Na so this guy finish work seize my plan o, asking for balance. I told him balance is for modification, now there is no modification so which balance. We almost resort to threat and he later bulge. I dont know how you guys do it o, but using people online is tough. I'm planning to use another one again, but fear dey catch me. My job is tough, I dont have time, i dont have energy. Focusmind, i will rely on one of your statement, compassion triumph logic, pls find him something, i dont expect you to pay 120k though. The truth is, this guys needs to BE RESPONSIBLE AND KNOW THAT NO BE EVERY JOB PERSON THEY COLLECT. He needs to bear some responsibility. The only reason am appealing to focusmind is because of the health of the other guy. Remember Ada jesus story on this platform. May we all live long without any regret of what we should have done earlier. Focusmind, na beg i beg you. Please. |
