This is advice is really for Nigerian ladies. Please and please do not marry a man that is not rich. Your very life will depend on it. You heard me... How long you live as a woman may well depend on how rich your husband is. This may seem like an over-generalization, but a very needful one. Quite a troubling percentage of Nigerian men can not handle a woman who is more financially buoyant.

Ideally it shouldn't matter how much each person earns, because I believe that the husband and the wife should be one financially. That the home should be planned like a company with budgets, financial planning, sound auditing and all... But from the much we have seen around the average Nigerian family is far from this ideal. We often have what increasingly looks like a union that appears more to serve a cultural/societal expectation, a union that is sustained just so that the society can think you are happily married, while between the man and the wife it is more like between US and China, between Northern and Southern Nigeria, a perpetual cold war and bitter jostling for resource allocation and control.

I have seen women who have died because the husbands couldn't afford antenatal care and used ego-motivated argument to keep the women from accessing timely medical care... And of course, few years or even months after that those wicked men would later bring in other wives into the house.

The poorer the man, the more wicked, the more angry, and the more deadly he generally is in Nigeria. Do not let any man or any woman convince you to marry for love. There is no such thing as that, just a queer surge of hormones that makes you think you are in love. If you marry a poor man for love, hunger and suffering will soon reset your thinking, and by then most women feel too culturally compelled to remain with the toxin of a husband they have. Take a cue from evolutionary development in animal kingdom generally where females select the most suitable male for mating.

Do not simply believe in a man's future plans and dreams. If he doesn't have money now, he is not ready to be a husband. No matter how much you think you love him, treat him like the case of AS genotype (yours) marrying an SS genotype (his). And this is something I respect some Igbo men for. They will never think of marrying a woman unless they are economically ready.

If he is earning N30,000, or N40,000 or N90,000 per month he is not ready to marry. These are just examples from posts I have seen around here. Do not be fooled, the amount on the payslip is not always available for taking care of the home. But that's the talk for another day.

Some of us are probably never going to get married, I personally find it very scary to read about how men because of poverty increasingly turn against their wives in marriage... I may be too traditional though, because I do not fvcking care the money the wife is bringing into the house. Her role as a mother and a wife is already supremely more than you need to compensate for as a man. If you are a man, do not get close to a man when you are still poor. It is wickedness. It is dishonesty. It is crime against humanity. Do not sell her a future hope of becoming a pastor and other popular silliness.

Marrying a lady when you cannot completely and single-handedly take care of her is gender violence. Stop it.

My experience was then.

Nowadays, even if we kuku exchange numbers, na status I go just dey read for WhatsApp...and that's if I saved the number...and bad news is I turned off read receipt so you aren't even gonna know I read it.

I no kuku want person wey go come cheat on their boyfriend with me since virtually everyone has sb...so I don't even ask anyone out.

Like I don't see any need to beg for a relationship or ask for it or whatever. The last time I wooed a girl is when I guess, was growing up sha. If we are friends and we grow fond of each other, lines fall into places by itself...and that is if you are creative about it. I translate it to you are single without me asking.

Bad news kwa is I am even a very boring type to be with so I think it is what makes me lose interest in creating an impression. I am also mostly interested in productive discussions and not always 'have you eaten'...too much of 'have you eaten' bores me out...that I may end up using the chat as a draft. I think it's only me who do this. Not proud of it tho but I am very lazy at forcing anything.

It doesn't mean I don't respect the gender. I do. I am just of the opinion to date when I am ready for marriage...plus the fact that many who you may ask if they are single will deny it. So I refuse to be responsible for another man's heartbreak.

Its actually a genuine love language. Researched a bit about love languages and that gave insight. Some their love language is reaffirmation or attention so if you bring them over with gifts and money, it wouldn't work cos they need attention. Just google Love Languages

For those quoting me. Apart from being a web developer I am well updated on military history. During the world war 2, every military had planes but American planes was more superior. Nobody knew about the tomahawk missiles until USA used it to pound Iraq, it was the first of its kind in military history. The F-15 hornet(or F-16 can't really remember which one actually) is the most successful fighter jet in the world, with over 100:0 kills in air to air confrontation combats(including dog fights) it beat Russian MIGs and sukhois during the British vs Argentina wars over some islands. It beat Russia sukhois deployed by Saddam in the gulf war despite Russian propaganda on the capability of the sukhois.

Now let us come to something more recent. The s-300,400 and most recently the s-500 anti air defense systems made the headlines with state of the art capabilities and how it can shoot down American stealth fighters(F-35 and F-22). The Syrian army bought the Russian equipments to protect critical assets in Syria but when Israeli F-35 started to bomb those critical assets, the s-400 was not able to detect the Israeli F-35. In fact Syria became desperate and fell to Chinese propaganda about their anti stealth radars(I have forgotten the code name).Syria bought these radars with hope it can detect and lock on Israeli fighters so that the s-400 can do its job and fire on the F-35 but Israel used these Chinese equipments for target practice because it can neither see,detect nor lock on the F-35.

Let us even shift the timeline even more closer. About two weeks ago or thereabout Israel bombed Iranian nuclear sites with F-35 despite the Iranian revolutionary guards corps being in possession of s-300 and s-400 anti aircraft missiles from Russia. The problem is that this is not a one time occurance in Iran. Israel has consistently bombed Iranian targets and their Russian equipments could not help them.

You cannot spend over $800bn(USA) and expect your equipment to be inferior to a country that spends about $64bn(Russia). It doesn't make logical sense.

Without sentiment USA is the world power for a reason. They are atleast ten years ahead of any country in military tech and equipment. USA equipment are superior that is why they ate expensive and out perform other equipments in actual combats not in propaganda. Recently Glo went back to Alcatel(a French company) after using cheap and inferior huawei equipments (China) that made their network bad. Actually when Glo started the made use of French equipments but China reversed engineered these equipment and made them cheap. But what China could not do is that the equipments where not as reliable as the original. ( I think the thread of Glo signing the deal with Alcatel made front page today). So guys abeg always go for the best.

From what I heard from a reliable source.... people pay close to 50k for the vaccination card....and they will input the person's name in their system. So if they check to confirm, if that person has collected the vaccine. ...the person's information will pop up......what a country....

Democratic government returned to Nigeria in 1999. And my calculations and most northerners calculations tells us that you southerners have been ruling most of the time. Besides I dont think northerners are ready to vote for any southerner considering the fact that Nigeria is too divided along ethnic/region/religious lines.
