Hello everyone.. sorry iv been absent for a while.. congrats to everyone who had a succesful interview.. the Lord will continue to be on our side.. and also, a big welcome to all the new members of this our beautiful thread
Iv missed u all and I cant believe the thread has moved by 6pages.. we are making progress

So the update about my status is that ou host who is in bowie, maryland suddenly called us that she cant accommodate us anymore because her husband pple are now staying with her bla bla.. but to the glory of God, we toldmy uncle's friend in atlanta, georgia and he has fully agreed to accommodate us.. So I wanna know if I should change my US adress by sending a mail to KCc or wait till we get to the POE (I heard that isnt effective).. I dont want our green card to be misplaced oh.. any experienced reply will be appreciated

justwise: That is a very selfish mind-set, nobody owns a thread here, threads here belongs to everybody and anybody is allowed to jump into any thread and ask question(s), lets not create exclusive class here, such division will kill the sharing spirit that exist here.

justwise: That is not a good mind-set in a sharing forum like this, there is nothing like 'their own' or 'our own' thread, you don't need to start a thread to be able to play a major role in that thread.
Since we have a related thread why not go there and ask your questions? We don't need to create a new thread every year dealing with the same thing.

I would really love to have another thread addressing the space of how to prepare before one leaves for the US after a successful interview.. this doesn't mean we that have our visas already are going to leave this our beloved thread.
I for one have like 4 threads opened permanently in my phone's browser that all I do is refresh every 1 hour max..

@justwise.. the thread u talked about does not address things this new thread will address and as a matter of fact, we cant just go there and start asking questions.. we need OUR OWN thread just like we have this one.. we are familiar with each other and trust me, the thread wont be scanty or empty..
Morealso, im sure we all know that Mr Obatide is just trying to be of help and assistant and not that they give money or bonuses to whoever creates a thread

This is just my opinion..

Guys pls I dont understand dis bbm on my samsung galaxy note.. its not seeing network, I can only send and receive messages like 5mins out of 24hours/a day.. I cant view ppls dp, I cant see their updates.. iv installed dis bbm like a month ago, re-installed a new version about a month ago as well but istill have the same problem

any advise this is so tiring

nifty: you are supposed to get $5600 prolly that the minimum you need in the community college you should have asked to max out your financial aid for the year and then they wld send you a refund check to ur home you can spend on anything but prolly you tell them you want to spend it on books

oyidiyaagbayi: I enrolled in a North Carolina community college. I don't have my green card bc I paid for it in October . They used the one resident in my visa for that and told me to bring my green card to replace it bc after one year my visa will expire. Then I applied for financial aid and it was approved. Another thing is that I only presented my waec result bc if I had given them my degree result I will not have qualified. This happened to a Nigerian student that I met here b4 they ratified it. I have about 3600 for one year. u also have refunds after the semester. It is on a yearly basis. u can also apply for scholarship when u finish your grants. study hard for your accuplacement test so that u don't have to do a lot of mathematics and readings. meanwhile am not a bro am a sis. good luck

hahaha.. the feeling is indescribable and unexplainable.. when I saw it at d collection centre, I was smilling like I won visa lottery to the extent that d attendant had to ask me if everythng was okay.. (oops! I won )

hey guys.. just a little update.. we we called from the embassy to come drop a copy of our marriage cert.. so I went 2 do d drop off and the pickup of our originals and we were told to com for d visa nxt thursday.. I met some other people who were doing drop offs too and also, people who were being interviewed.

plenty visas were approved to my face and just 1 was denied by that beautiful black american chic.. d guy won a dv lotery.. when he got to the window, he had issues with his place of birth, d one in his initial application is diff from the one he filled in d form, so he explaind that it was a mistake and the lady overlooked, then d lady decided to ask him about his edu qualification, he said he just gained admission to a uni so d lady decided to ask him what econs, commerce, opportunity cost is but he didnt answer well, so she asked what he was doing befor gaining admission and he he has searchin for a job and playing football.. his visa wasnt approved anyway..

pls if applying as single, read ur books well, they believe ur still young and so, ur brain shld be sharp like that..

I was wondering too.. I guess its for the cashier to confirm how many people u are paying the visa fee for.. I said this because she asked us for the blue tag when we wanted to pay

Obatide: If you have reconfirmed as outlined by G2glory and sure its with them, Send mail to LagosIV@state.gov
you may say for the 'attention of Visa Chief', then describe the window where you were interviewed and tag number.
It will be attached to your package

Pls I have an issue.. We went for interview yesterday and our vsa was approved and during the interiview, the lady said she was gonna return our original waec cert but we ended up not leaving with it. I guess she forgot to give us and we diddnt know we were to collect it from her. Ho do we get it back? Will it come with our passport/visa? Your urgent reply pls

G2Glory: Did they collect your original WAEC result & not return it back to you? Ours was returned except for NPC attestation & police report that was collected. Please be sure and clarify.

At visa collection, you will only be given your international passport(s) & brown envelope(s) that you must not open.

the lady who interviewed us talked about returning during interview bt she later forgot or something.. I thot they were gonna return It later with d passport or somthng.. what do we do oh?

Hi guys.. so here was how it started.. I did the visa lottery for myself as the principal and my mom as the principal back then. So when my mom won, the only the only thing i have was the confirmation number.. i wasnt sure if i registered my dad and my siblings with her but with faith, we continued the processing. My dad didn't want to go with us because he has businesses he is running here in NIgeria and also, my older brother is over-aged. So, i and my mom decided to do the processing for just the both of us.
However, because of the rareness of our case, people said we will be turned down, they said we will be rejected bla bla but i and mom paid them no listening ears.. That really helped!

So today, our interview was for 7am, we got there 5:45am, and at about 6:15, we were told to line up, we did security checks, people's powder, phones, sharp objects, liquid, charger, containers were disposed..(please do not bring any of these with u to the embassy, its an lot of trouble finding how to dispose them).

So at about 8am, we were inside the hall, my mom paid for the both of us and when it was time for submission of document, the woman in charge told my mom to go out and take another passport photograph because the one she has with her was with a blue background. So my mom went out and the cheapest rate she could find for 6 passport photograph was N2000!! Can u imagine?!.

So she brought the passport and while we were submitting our document, the woman asked why my dad wasnt included in the first submission and my mom said it was because he wasn't interested, the woman shook her head! Right there, i had thought we would be rejected.

So at about 10:15, our number beeped on window 17.. the CO was a beautiful and young black American
She told us to swear, took our fingerprints and then the conversation below ensued
CO: what is ur name ma'am
My Mom: xxxx
CO: Did u fill the lottery form urself
MM: Yes
CO: So why is ur sister here with you:
MM: She is not my sister, she is my daughter ((we both laughed)
CO: OMG.. Im so sorry.. Wow madam.. u look so young and she is gorgeous
MM and I: Thank you, u look beautiful too
CO:. Who is philip and why is he not going with u
MM.. he is my husband and bla bla
CO: what is your highest level of education
MM.. bla bla
So she excused herself for a minute, came back, typed some things into the computer, gave us 2 sheets of paper.. (i was already jumping by then lol). She then said, your visa has been approved, pick up this this this that.. i wasnt listening anymore

So guys im not gonna lie to you, i and my mom prayed and fasted for days before attending that interview.. we even went to a 7 nights vigil that ended last SUnday.. If not for prayers and God's favour, we wopuld have been denied. Please lets prepare ourselves and pray to the God/gods we believe in.
