Psychologically they are afraid of the Nigerian team weather we like to admit or not and I don't even see anything spectacular about their gameplay. Neither is there anything spectacular about ours See ehn...this game is a battle of physique and grit and not necessarily tactics since both team haven't really been impressive tactically |

Same Cameroon we played and dominated home and away during the world cup qualifiers is what you are afraid of? This is a different Cameroon bro. Never underrate your opponents. They have a different technical crew. They have also not conceded any goals in their group stages while our attack has been poor. |

TheSuperNerd: Before you continue the Lamentations, recall that same Peru got bashed 5-0 by Brazil in same competition in the group stage and will now be facing same Brazil in the final on Sunday.
Now, you would have ruled them out from that point but here they are in the final having defied all logic.
Our football is on the rise again with the springing up of these multi-talented youngsters daily across Europe and from the home front but the problem now lies in finding the the right hands and mind to nurture them into a mega force walking in the fullness of her limitless potentials.
I talked about this when I was the first to signal a rise and steady comeback to reckoninh for Dutch football. On the thread, I was told Holland will struggle to make Euro 2020. I laughed because I have studied their latest growth. I said Holland is rising again and over a year later, my words have come true. The Dutch are back. Watch out... Nigeria is next. But we need the right hands. Then we are on the same page. My major issues are with the technical crew and few players, not SE as a whole |

BascoVanVeli: My advice is that the players form an association both for home and foreign based. They should refuse to play any football until an agreement is reached for compensation. This should cover the league and all competitions. If the agreement is legally binding there will be less issues arising unnecessarily. This afcon situation simply happened because there was nothing put in place for the tournament unlike the World cup were everything was set in stone. But what is even the guarantee that if everything was set in atone like the WC, these players won't still underperform. In Keahi's era, things were worse yet those guys performed significantly better. |

Humility017:
Ighalo, Balogun tear Eagles’ camp apart
July 4, 2019
There is palpable unrest in the camp of the Super Eagles ahead of their round of 16 clash with Cameroon after two keys players clashed with Manager Gernot Rohr.
Our correspondent learnt that striker Odion Ighalo and defender Leon Balogun clashed with Rohr after the coach openly criticised them for the loss to Madagascar on their last group game.
Sources in the squad confirmed that the two players had heated altercations with the coach at their Helnan Palestine Hotel camp when he used harsh words in castigating them for the loss.
“Ighalo felt terribly bad when he heard about what the coach told the media that the team didn’t have strikers who were good enough. It infuriated him even the more when the gaffer mentioned similar thing during team’s meeting.
“Balogun too clashed with the coach, insisting the manager should not have singled him out for blames because of the mistake he made. “I don’t think these players will play a part in the competition anymore but some officials of the Nigeria Football Federation have come in to resolve the problem, ” the source explained.
The players are aware of the situation and are also supporting their colleagues against the handler who was recently warned by the NFF to talk less.
newtelegraphng.com Now, why Rohr still has some apologist here is because of his man management skills but when you're not getting the required results, sooner than letter, mam management skills becomes inadequate. If this news is true, then I wonder what. Rohr has going for him |

Humility017: I wish he can just do the bolded... I will be so happy and likewise millions of Nigerians..... it will be celebrated globally..... the national team don't need him as much as he needs the national team...
the bonus issue goes to show that they're mainly doing this for what they tend to get...
so if he does not get to play...someone else will....and will even do much better.
please also tell Tijani to forget about the national team too....we don't need him Did Tijani think he will make the national team before? Who is giving him that sort of hope? As for Ighalo, after this AFCON, he should just retire from the national team because judging by his performances so fat, he will remain in China or may go to Qatar to retire |

TheSuperNerd: If true, I hope this can make Rohr turn to Osimhen. Even if he turns to Osimhen, the harmony in the team would no longer be there. Some Ighalo apologist in the team may refuse to pass to Osimhen just to prove a point. Its not a good development either ways |

gamaliel9: I think Rohr is progressing a bit...he should be allowed to stay for two years more...I say this because if you watched the world cup...you would have noticed he has changed on late substitutions....In the games at AFCON,he made correct changes and at the RIGHT TIME...Not very late...though his tactical acumen is average...he should be allowed to squeeze out something more from this team...team spirit is there...organisation is there....but not yet a complete team....He should sit out his contract...
When Walter Mazzari was quitting Napoli,he said.."I cannot bring out more from the players"...Rohr can still bring out something from this team But my brother, his progress is too slow and its like he is wasting the young and youthful players on the bench with his slow approach. That's the major problem |

facts1234: We had players that could do this, but we left them because " they aren't doing well in their clubs". Yes, we had Musa Muhammed.
What have " those doing well in their clubs" achieved?
We struggled in an easy group and Madagascar walloped us?
Not a single Super Eagles player in the best 11 AFCON round one games? It would have been better to take only the best home based players to this tournament. The embarrassment would not have exceeded this. Also, we don't have to waste our scarce resources that would have been put to bettering the lots of more Nigerians.
Lastly, we need to lend our voices to the call of getting ATTACKING MIDFIELDERS for our team. We need to talk about it very often. Because of 'Mikel", people shut their brains to quality players? Who did this to us? I did warn many about the over-reliance on Mikel but I was called deragatory names Thank God some are seeing the light |

facts1234: I thought I was the only one that noticed. What exactly does Awaziem bring to this team? Even in the match against Guinea, Simon had to do more of covering him up than disturbing the Guinean defence.
Please tell Rohr to play CHUKWUEZE full time on Saturday. We need players that can regularly trouble the defence. Troubling the defence of your opponents makes them unsettled and prevents them from attacking, which is good. even if such troubling doesn't result in goals.
Ahmed Musa too, whether as a starter or a super sub. His runs are needed to destabilize Camerounians' attack. Funny enough, he has some loyalists here |

daveP: Sincerely, lets be simply Nigerians for this Seedorf encounter, Its better Ighalo doesn't start that match. Once he's saddled with 9, he has this urge to never take good decisions that would later on hurt the team, and all of us watching the match and as time flies. Its even more painful when we conceed a goal again.
I believe the young boys would help us get goals calmly and might win a pk unconsciously.
I notice also that Musa has this urge to kiss the ground whenever he misses a sweet chance to bury a goal. Unchanged.
Overall, lets be factual.
Its said that Etebo is the one standing over our freekicks in this era of football. Its shows how bad self building by our footballers is. Don't they practice like CR7 to become experts? Its just as appalling to see Rashford standing over Man U freekicks in that whole team. Pls dont get me wrong.
So VicMo and SimMo are the only two that our confidence of burying a setpiece near the 18 is high on in the last 3yrs?
See Brazilian team. Almost all the defenders can bury fks comfortably. Do they need the coach to tell them before the self develop such aspect of the team's attack?
Phew. I was enjoying a local meal but I just had to postpone it to reply you. You're absolutely right about the bolded statement. YES, OUR BOYS DON"T SEEK TO IMPROVE. It's like their mentality. Many of them are just happy to play abroad and earn money. They don't think about ways their game may evolve. They don't actively seek ways to get better. I keep on saying that the only person who seems to work really hard at improvement is Ndidi and maybe Omeruo/Aina. I don't know him neither am I his personal trainer but it is self-evident in his game. Ndidi seems to be better with each passing season. A friend of mine in the UK says that there is no nightclub were Isaac Success and KC nacho isn't known. Tomorrow, we wonder why these boys have stagnant careers!!! There is a time for work and play, don't get me wrong but too much enjoyment especially for a sportsman is a real BANE. How many of our players are on special diets? How many of our players have personal fitness trainers? Not the one they quickly hire when it seems they might not make the squad but I mean the perennial personal trainers? How many of our players stay back after team practice to practice set-pieces, finishing, tackling, PASSING, positioning etc? How many of our players seek to play for the glory and not money? Don't get me wrong, money is important but when you have groomed yourself to be the best, Money will chase and overtake you. Its like the hidden law of football. We can shout about Rohr from now till tomorrow but if these guys aren't doing their bit, there's little a National team coach can do (although Rohr has many deficiencies of his own). |
