so many comments, i actually got a link to that video today and could not watch it. i dont think for any reason, i could ever support this kind of action, burning people alive, wow, thats just gangster. back when i was in school, i remember an incident that happened in my hostel, where a guy was dragged into the hostel with his mouth busted and peeps were claiming that he was a thief. they had already started beating him without even knowing what he stole. someone just asked a simple question of what did he steal and then upon proper investigation, they discovered that he was actually with his girlfriend, whom he wanted to break up with and was demanding that she returned the phone that he had bought for her. then the girl shouted thief and the next thing he knew he was being lynched. the funny part was that, the girl friend was right there in the crowd and also took part in the beating. then when the tables turned and a new mob was formed that wanted to descend on the girl, the guy pleaded on her behalf and she was handed over to the proper authority. what if the guy had been killed? shariah law cuts off hands for stealing, and peeps are totally against it but are in support of setting the thief ablaze. sick. 2 Likes |

Whether MAULAG or UNILAG the name UNILAG is still the preferred name becos of the court injunction and I dnt knw ow difficult that is to understand. Thank God I've graduated now. Last session the faculty of Arts thot to do a carnival and it was STRICTLY a Nigerian affair with over 30 cultures represented. This year I guess they wanted something different hence the WORLD CARNIVAL. And some one said pple don't attend schools becos of activities like this. That is COMPLETELY FALSE. Many schools in the U.S minus their academic standings also boast off their sororities and fraternities and clubs. It's called extracurricular activities if u don't know. Life is not all about book. And to those who will beef regardless of what we would say... I say it's not too late to get a JAMB form and apply..UNILAG can still admit u....Or better still, quit beefing and get a life. We all know ow prestigious UNILAG and it's alumni are in Nigeria. Don't lemme even start naming names.very well said........ |

I have not seen how the muslim religion enhance that mean human instinct. |

Am an aagnostic athiest but if m asked to choose a religion Islam would not even feature in the list of what to choose from. I would rather be a satanist than be a muslim. The delusion and inhumanity in that religion is beyond me. Islam is a religion of peace alright but the caveat that most muslims dont talk about is that it becomes a religion of peace at the point where everybody on the globe is a muslim. Islam is a religion that forbids freedom of expression and association to the extent that the Pakistani PM is proposing, at the ongoing UN general assembly, that freedom of expression be removed human rights and make criminal expressions of insults cast aginst the monotheistic religions especially islam. estheta: I 've been reading with keen interest how many are busy defending their own religion, resorting to vulgar words in some cases. That's how the fight usually starts. Religion is supposed to be a personal thing and it's practise should not harm another. Christians should learn and extract the truth from the bible and that truth is Jesus whose teachings are "new wine" as it directs to the true almighty God, his father. Muslims should do the same from their book extracting the simple message of only one God. Other religious people should also extract truth from their heros messages. Organising religion and setting rules and regulations is actually the babylon. In the end, the true worshippers of God will worship God in spirit and in truth. In the end, there will be no worship houses for the hearts of humans will be the worship houses. This is bitter truth but defenders of organised religion will fight it just like they fought Christ, but he defeated them all. Christians confuse the bible with the word of God which is Jesus Christ, while muslims confuse the message of one God with religious writings.Very true. people are quick to support their religion and castigate others. like a person's personality does not matter. like a person's personal interpretation of his or her religious teachings dont count. the comments that i have read on this thread just goes to show that wole shoyinka is right. religion and racism are now competing for which breeds more hate. too many generalisations. so as soon as you meet an arab man, you just conclude that he is violent. how does it work? the saudis would most likely have their reasons. i believe that people that hate other people based on religion are no different from racist. from most of the comments here on this tread, there is a whole lot of hatred. the question i always ask is, God is so powerful, right, but He chose to create humans with so many differences and these differences have been the cause of wars and all sorts of violence. cant we just look pass the skin colour and religion and see a person? 1 Like |
