nonxo007:
The Legal system in Nigeria is trash, and it reminds me of an experience I had with this guy who was wrongly arrested and sent to jail. I was on vacation one day and decided to walk into a high court just to hear the proceedings. On that faithful day there was this young man who was in chains in court. During the break this young man beckoned on me to please come, I was shocked. But then I asked the police officer around if I may, he agreed. This young man pleaded with me to please help him get something to eat, even if its just biscuit, that he has been in jail for long and hasn't eaten for days. I bought him a bunch of banana with pure water. This guy shared this bunch of banana with other accused in court there.
When it was his turn to face the court, this guy didn't have a lawyer because he couldn't afford one.
Now what was he accused of? His story: he lived in a neighborhood and had a little misunderstanding with some brothers, few weeks after the misunderstanding these brothers house was robbed and there property and belonging taken away. Next day they called the police to arrest this guy. On what ground?
1. They had a misunderstanding
2. He dresses any how
3. He has no job
4. He was poor

And the dumb police men arrest this young man. I was really bitter when this guy asked to defend himself. He wept and wept that he was innocent and the accusers have no evidence to label him the criminal, but all these fell on deaf ears.
This guy has been in jail for over 1year and 6months as at then.
The judge just adjourned the case for another 2months and the guy has to remain in jail
That day I gave up on the Nigerian judicial system.
I was jejely and foolishly talking about the spate of Nigerian youths and how most politicians have turned our youths to politics thugs and gangsters. I was also foolishly opening my big mouth about how there was no God and most religious folks will even use that God to defend their reason for destroying you with no just cause.

Almost getting to the end our journey in the car, one man just began asking my details and what I do for a living. He said he was going to report me to my state ministry and ensure I lose my job for insulting the state governor. Mind you I intentionally never even mentioned the governor's name nor insult the state 2ruout our journey. I ensured speaking with wisdom and infact I personally believe the governor of that particular state had done more than enough for the state, but due to shortage and paucity of funds, he couldn't do much. Yet because I insulted his God, by refuting his non-existence, he defended his God by lying blatantly on me to the extent even the person I was having an interesting debate with from the same state defended me, that I spoke no ill word towards the governor..

When I saw his plan, I just began to apologize for something I NEVER did because I was in a strange land with pure hatred for people of my state of origin as the Customs people always ask for people's identity while on the road and had unintentionally revealed where I'm from during the journey.

Since then, I feared all this religious folks and have vowed NEVER to help emancipate anyone from his self-induced mental slavery.

They can goan die for all I care.

Even everyone just began apologizing to this man for my sake oh cos they knew I never said anything of such and my humility despite refuting his God and him lying against me moved them to stand in for me I believe.

It is well.

How she helped the government.........

It started when she was a youth corper in 2013/2014 in Ondo State. She got a girl to be living with her.

So she took her to a nearby school to register her, on getting there, the headmistress said she can't be admitted because there were no chairs and lockers and even during the rain, they beg the children not to come to school because of leaking roofs.

When she got home she couldn't sleep.... The thought of the kids sitting on the floor kept disturbing her.

The next CDS, the zonal inspector spoke to us about community development projects. She went to see the Zonal Inspector (ZI) after the meeting, the zonal inspector told her more and even said the project would be commissioned by NYSC and the government too would award her with a job after the commissioning.

Fiam, she went back to the school (Fanibi Community Primary School Akure) to tell the headmistress about her intention, she was happy that she brought out the pupils, they sang and prayed that day.

Work began.... The site engineers said it will cost 1.3m to renovates the classrooms and provide at least 80 chairs and lockers...

Where will she get the money from? She went back to the ZI and he told her to write a proposal and give to people.

She did and she got fourty five thousand naira (#45k) only and others gave he different stories and NYSC kept reminding her that it must be concluded before the end of the service year, and 3months gone already.

She went for a loan with d hope of paying it back when she start working..... To cut the long story short, God helped her and the project got completed 4weeks before the passing out.

She went back to NYSC, they kept telling her how busy they were, they didn't commission it not talk of the government seeing it.

She wept, begged them and did all she could and even told them she's owing.... All they did was gave her a certificate.

What kind of country is this that keeps saying the government can't do it all alone and yet does not appreciate those doing it.....

She felt cheated.. And to even say she's still paying the loan is a story for another day because the interest is killing.

But anytime she visit the school and saw the smile on those little angels faces, she feel happy and it pushes her to do more because she know that she have made that little child love school more.

Encouraged that little girl to love education and be a great woman in future

Ogunleye Modupe Ishola has helped the Government... She's an education ambassador in Nigeria.....

To all the ex corpers like her , that did one thing or the other and the government didn't even shake u not to talk of saying thank u, God will repay you all.

God bless my Nigeria.

Star actress, Annie Idibia, has said that her year started on a rough note due to the fact that her father took ill for months.

Speaking exclusively with Saturday Beats, the screen diva revealed that her father was not always there for her siblings and her so she was raised single-handedly by her mother.

Due to that experience as a child, Idibia stated that she never prays that her children or any other kid would have to live without having both parents around to raise them.

She said, “This year started for me quite tough. I spent the first three months of this year in the hospital with my father because he had been sick for a while but God has been great and I am grateful.

“I am actually closer to my mother than my father because she raised us single-handedly. My father is still my father and since he was sick we had to rally round him.

“Growing up with only my mother really affected my life and I suffered and I do not ever want my children to face the agony of not having both parents together because it was so hard for us.

“Even right now, the way the world is, children are more enlightened than we were in our days, so the pressure would be harder on the kids from broken homes right now. I do not want my children to ever experience that.”

The actress, who is married to one of Africa’s biggest music stars, told Saturday Beats that she prefers to be addressed and identified on the basis of her own achievements as a movie practitioner rather than just the wife of Tubaba.

“I took a break from my career because after I got married, I got pregnant so I had a baby and had to get used to the new life. I think I did not do any movie for about three years.

“Being addressed as Tubaba’s wife instead of Annie the actress has been a problem that I have been trying to work on for a long time.

“I want to believe that I have successfully been able to identify and differentiate my brand as Annie Idibia the actress/career woman and Annie Idibia the wife/mother. I prefer being addressed as Annie and not Tubaba’s wife. I hate this because I am my own person and have worked hard to build my career and brand. I should be identified and respected on that basis,” she said.

Speaking of the secret of her trim and enviable figure despite being a mother of two, Idibia said, “I would like to say I have a good gene and my husband also have a good gene, so two good genes merged together.

“I try not to eat late and the days I can do exercises, I do them. I try to eat right, drink water and eat fruits. I try to avoid food like eba, rice, bread, etc.

“Also, as a working woman, I am up and about; I wake up very early and sleep very late. All these things make me lose weight.

“I believe that make-up is to enhance what you have or make your beauty more pronounced. I am very comfortable in my skin. I love my skin colour and my natural look.”

Slavery in Africa is a relatively recent thing. The transatlantic slave trade is less than 500 years ago, while the Arabian Sahara slave trade is less than 1500 years ago. When we talk about African civilization, we are talking about events of more than 6000 years old.
African civilization was not as powerful as it once was when the Arabs and Europeans came in contact with us for the slave trade.
Okey lets take the 1st Italian Ethiopian war for instance. Though Ethiopia wan the war, but they fought with over a hundred thousand solders as against the Italians that fought with just few tens of thousands. The 2nd war between then saw the Italians completely over coming the Ethiopians because of more advanced military weapons. Like I said African civilization fell because other civilizations advanced, grew, invented superior military weapons and conquered us.
My thoughts exactly in my recent quote.

I think Africa was skilled and advanced in many other major development except in the art of war. Knowledge isn't Power; Power is Power. A lesson we learnt too late.

Imagine an impoverished & semiliterate country like North Korea keeping world powers on their toes, because they got Nuclear Weapons...

Words of Lady Lugard.

The whites will never let the world know the true history of the black race. So much talent and creativity. My question till this day is, where did it all start to go wrong?
A question that begs answers honestly.

We just swerved and veered comot and have been off tangent since God knows when.

I think the introduction of sophisticated weaponry was responsible for our calamity, when the whites began plundering our lands and heritage. Perhaps the sword was actually mightier than the pen.

Actor Fadeyi Oloro is sick and needs urgent medical attention

Ojo Arowosafe who is widely known as Fadeyi Oloro is sick and needs urgent medical attention.

The veteran actor has been battling undisclosed ailment and has been stuck in a general hospital for some weeks.

The state of his health had allegedly deteriorated earlier in the year after which he was admitted to the hospital.

The tale of his bedridden state was first brought to the attention of the public by a younger colleague, Ibrahim Chatta.

Speaking on the development, Chatta appealed to fans to support the ailing actor financially.

Chatta went on to appeal to his colleagues to also donate generously to the treatment of the actor.

In 2012, Daily Post reported that Fadeyi was run down by a moving vehicle in Osun state during a political rally he attended.

Fadeyi Oloro became popular in Jimoh Aliu’s TV production, ‘Yanpon Yanrin,’ which features Jimoh Aliu, Orisabunmi.

Recently, Baba Suwe was down with chronic diabetes and resorted to the public for help. The actor has since received medical attention after the involvement of his colleagues, several Nigerians that included the Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo and Minister for Health,Isaac Adewole.

OkunrinOloro:
And who ended slavery?

Samuel Ajayi Crowther was sold by Fulani Slave traders and rescued by the British.

Go and read some history books and stop making excuses for black complicity in the Slave Trade.

Even to this day, who is selling black women into sexual slavery on the streets of Europe?

I should add living in denial to the black man's list of negative attributes.
And who were doing the buying? You're on a long tin if you think slavery has or will ever end in the world. What has ended is the name given to it. Now it's called human trafficking.

Everywhere in the world there are good and bad people, not races. It is wrong to conclude blacks are solely responsible for their enslavement, when we have the same black men like Martin Luther King Jr. getting executed in broad day light in their fight against slavery. Or you think without the efforts of these people, the whites will solely end slavery and handover to us our freedom?

Despite the slavery, there were whites who were against it and blacks who encouraged it. Same way as there were blacks and whites who were vice-versa. Even some whites would have sold themselves if necessity presented itself. Americans were enslaved by the Europeans, you wanna tell me they too didn't sell themselves off as well? Yet they're the greatest country in the world today.

Read on the Blalock-Thomas-Taussig shunt for the repair of congenital heart diseases. A black man who was an apprentice of the white doctor was the brain behind developing the shunt, but due to the apartheid (suitable word) in the world then and the position of the black man, the white man got all the credit for the surgical procedure. I won't put this rape past the other great scientists you mentioned earlier either.

Don't give in to the white man's speech that there's something specially depraved about the black man, cos that exactly is the slave mindset they always plant and hope will germinate in people, which however does only in the undiscerning.

There are good & bad ppl not races. Only a racist will think otherwise either he's black or white. And yes one is still a racist if he's licking the white man's butt and kicking down his own root, even without receiving help from the white man.

More like a self-enslaved and misled racist.

You mean your forefathers were busy selling themselves into slavery? Because the biggest traders of slaves were black people who were selling their fellow black people as slaves to the Europeans.
It doesn't change the fact that there was a buyer. The whites you so much want to please, planted the idea of slavery into people's minds, when they began their colonization agenda. Even if my grandpa sold me, someone was eagerly willing to buy.

Just like selling & buying of coke, you both will be held liable.

Had they been a plain level ground, blacks would have wrought wonders in the world too.

Just the composition of this list alone shows what low achievers black people are.

If an ALL TIME list includes the likes of Tupac in it then one can only surmise that black people are desperately short of real role models.

Where are the black Einsteins? Where are the black Isaac Newtons, Shakespeares, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerbergs, Steve Jobs, Alan Turings, Carl Sagans,Louis Pasteurs, Wright Brothers, Thomas Edison, Tessla, Elon Musk, etc etc?

If a list of most influential White men were to be compiled or influential Asians, it would be far more impressive and make a lot more sense than this joke of a list.
During these white people's time, our forefathers were busy being shipped into slavery...and those who weren't were being hunted by the image of it.

They are our heroes for bringing us outta bondage that you probably would still have been, had they not taken the bold step.
