Less than 80k salary, then I wonder how u must have saved a million, or how long it took u to do that. Maybe u have another source of income!
I will not tell u to continue in ur job, and I will not also say u should quit and do ehailing. Your decision will be tied to what u want in life.
Buy your car and do both then you will know if u should quit or not with time.
I made more than your monthly income between Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (3days) only
I made more than your monthly income in 3days is different from I profited more than your monthly income in 3 days

Just for clarity sake

Getting a vehicle on loan in today's economy, that idea is not so good because you will have to work your ass off to repay the loan. Petrol price is very high and Bolt fare doesn't commensurate with it except when there is surge. Fare is low, you will spend a lot of fuel and do so many trips before you can make a reasonable profit per day.

If there are no option of getting a Car other than loan, I will advice you go for a car loan between 2 to 3 miilion naira. It would be easier for you to repay on time. Maximum of 2years is enough to repay and the car wont suffer depreciation.

Brand new and Tokunbo Cars are very expensive, grade A sound Nigerian used cars on loan would make sense.

As per how you can juggle work, family and ehailing (driving) together, talking from my own experience.

I will suggest you drive on weekends, Friday night, Saturday and Sunday are the days to make good money. These 3 days can fetch you 60k to 100k after expenses depending on how long you can work. In a month that should be around 240k to 400k.

This is the best time to drive Uber for someone who is busy weekdays with job or other business

Friday from 7pm -12am N15,000 to N20,000 profit

Saturday From 5am - 10pm N20,000 to N40,000 profit

Sunday 5am - 10pm N25,000 to N45,000 profit

Total of these 3 days are usually between 60k to 100k in a week, you can give it a shot

Good luck !
@ the bolded did you type profit?

20k Profit in 5hrs?

Remember 20k profit(that's excluding fuel and commission)on bolt is about 40k gross

The profit no go pass 20k, minus fuel money and bolt commission
This is my pain with this whole fuel issue

Before one can comfortably do 40k profit a day if he sets out to work but now after working like jackie you will see big figures on dashboard but after all deductions na just maybe 20-30k profit

And when you give them offline price using your discretion, they will think you charging them too high and start complaining angry until you send them to go online and they see the price themselves.
The same reason I no too like offline too, cos I hate argument and too much explanation.
Some offlines I do are those riders who don't care about the price and don't want to stress themselves by ordering and waiting for another ride.

Glithronix:
Congratulations, baba.
Weekly income is cumulative.
Na daily earning you should focus on precisely.
You NEED to set a daily target.
When you have a daily target, you will be calculative in your driving for the day and that makes it simple for you, unlike driving with no target - that looks like moving around with no aim (to me).
On a normal day hustle, a driver should be able to gross @30k (some do way more than that, even x2 self), that's why one must have a target. Na the target you set for the day will drive your determination.
Your EOD is 2.4L engine (12k fuel will give you 30k gross). Please never compromise your fuel reserve in the car.
Your net profit depends on the app you are using.
If you grossed 30k on a day work using Indrive, you are having a net profit of 15k after removing fuel money (12k) and commission (3k), by this calculation, you should know how much you are making in a week (6 days).
Once you have got the grip of the hustle, then you will know how to set your weekly target.

Much respect, boss.

Btw: me too I want to read reviews about this EOD. grin
@pearl1910, we need you here, sir. 🫡
Why na 12k fuel?

So I carried this girl from Iponri to Rita Lori hotel, Iganmu.

When we got there, the girl said she can't make transfer and doesn't have cash either, that we should withdraw at POS.

When we got to POS, she said that she forgot her ATM card in her hotel room. That I should allow her go upstairs to get it.

I told her that she has to drop her bag in the car before leaving. After much argument, she dropped the bag and went inside to get the card.

I just looked into the bag and saw something pinky staring at me. Being a bad guy and the place I was, I decided to take a second look and lo and behold, there before me is an artificial DICk grin

With all you said, you're not considering the maintainance of the car, so just turn the driver into a slave na.
Besides, the car is still there as an asset.
The most important thing should be maintainance, if its 20k you'll get and your car will not be stressed out, I think its better. Or do another business, not a must to do e hailing.
You need a slave, not a driver.

Cool! Maybe you didn’t get the picture well and my question inbetween. I carried them to the hospital out of thinking it may be an emergency. Getting to the hospital, it is no longer an emergency, but decision. I have family and aged people. So I won’t leave them or anyone in bad state. Family or not, I don’t place life over life as we are all human. I don’t believe in saying things that I have done, but if it is a person with disability, I always help till I get them to point of comfort, I may take whatever they give me in form of money, even if it is not worth the actual trip price. Anyone that has been thro this will tell you mostly they don’t pay the actual price, but understanding and human should be the key.

If I am not mistaken this people don’t have money issue as presumed. Even the woman make it clear that she have siblings scatter everywhere and they can decide to charter me for the whole day (sorry ma, I don’t do such service). It may end up being a process of using Uber for everything and it comes cheap. The mans health does not start that morning and it wasn’t anything close to emergency. Hospitals should have ambulance at get go and bed space. We live in a failed society where we try to rest our inability on people conscience. If the man should d*e in the car? Obviously I am going offline for like 2 weeks at most, I know my kind of person. Am I ready for someone to d*e in the car? No. Charge them? Can’t put money on life. Police report? Death is not as picture, if you ask me. They may not want to take him home. From there to mortuary, to one unforeseen place or another. Boss I am not that strong. If this man should pass today(God forbid) aso ebi will go round, people will flew in from different places, event center will take million. I don’t think Uber drivers should be the one dealing with health related issues, except in a case of absolute emergency.

Thanks
Don't be a FELICITY my friend

Good day to all amazing drivers on this thread. This is going to be the first time I’m writing, not just on this thread but on nairaland as a whole.
You may want to regard me as new comer but my profile speaks.

I come to read this thread often and all I see is hatred amongst people who are suppose to be their brothers keeper. People who come to argue to win, do you really have to win? And what prize do you stand to gain if after you’re being awarded a winner? We can all learn from whichever discussions is brought to deliberate upon. And moreover, you choose to accept or believe whatever is pointed here, it doesn’t necessarily need to aggravate to hullabaloo that occur here every time.

I see people who pick from a healthy comment of a well meaning user to attack his enemy, people who at any point in time wait for another person’s mistakes/ downfall to attack, why? I sometimes ask myself while reading here if this thread is really informative as it should be, because one or two must derail the thread to incite or cook attack.

I see comments like “@ your 40” “in your 30s” but I see people acting like they’re in their early 20s. The hatred is so thick to the point that you chose to deviate from the truth and chose to support wrong just to suit your cooking agenda. You go as far as attacking your brands? You only haven’t secured gun yet, if you had the chance, you’d have shot yourselves all in the name of “CRUISE” As much as I understand that misunderstanding is bound to occur, but we have to learn how to let go and move on, just like @Dapotemi said, we all don’t have to be close friends, the sky is big enough for everyone to thread. Person wae dae find rentage vehicle today may own times 2 of what you as a car owner owns today before you close eyes open am. Do not see one’s current situation as a means to attack him even if the person is not making sense, their are better ways to making things clearer.

Let whoever wishes to do giveaway do it wherever and whenever. People needs help and it comes even where and when you least expect it. God sends help sometimes through unimaginable ways. I know we all do not pray to get help from our enemies, but we should all understand that our enemies cannot be enemies to everyone. Not even in this time of hardship that people are dying of hunger. You cannot shame who is dying of hunger for seeking help.

@Larry I appreciate the help you’ve rendered to people here so far and the ones to come. But, I must also put it to you that even God wants us to thread carefully. There can only be gain in doing good but not seeking validation for a show off lifestyle just because you feel like you can afford it. People are not angry about your wealth, they are only telling you to adjust so you don’t set yourself up to the unknown. Enjoy your life as much as you want to, everybody prays to enjoy life but showing off? It pays you nothing. Everybody cannot tell you this simple truth that have come from few on this thread. Do not see it as though they envy you.

Lets us all try to adjust and stop entertaining rubbish on this thread so as to allow those who you referred to as newbies contribute and be part of the reasonable discussions. Not everybody is interested in WWE and Gidigbo wae dae sup here all the time.

We can all do better. May God bless our hustles and help us all in this hard time 🙏
So you expect us to read all this your long epistle? 😂

Respectfully biko in two lines summarize what exactly are you trying to say
