BackToLife: A Little Brain Teaser, Lets See How Smart You Are. let the female head be X, the male without beards Y, and the one with beards Z...... X+X+X=3X=90.........X=90/3=30........ X+2Y+2Y=X+4Y=230........... substitute 30 for X....... 30+4Y=230, 4Y=230-30=200, Y=200/4=50......... Z+2Y+X= 210.............. substitute the values of X and Y into the equation......... Z+2(50)+30=210, Z+100+30=210, Z+130=210, Z=210-130, Z=80........... Therefore, Y-X+Z=50-30+80, ....... Using BODMAS........ we have, 50+(-30+80)= 50+50=100 |

Education › Re: UNILAG Promised Us Medicine But Gave Us Botany - Candidates by davbravo(m): 3:46pm On Sep 27, 2016 |
Nothing can be done about it..... same way earlier this year, the 100level students who weren't allowed to cross to college of medicine protested.. And at the end nothing was done about, they sued UNILAG and won the case...The court ordered UNILAG to allow them cross to the college..... Yes, they started attending lectures with us in 1st semester, some even wrote exams with us..... but they were not registered by the dept....They had no choice but to go back to Akoka........ But not all would be transferred to Botany and the likes... some will still be transferred to other medical courses......
Anyway, this is so sad... I passed through the programme too and I can tell you it wasn't easy........ But I can remember I read it somewhere before they were admitted that another exam would be conducted for those that applied for mbbs to be admitted into the college, maybe they weren't informed earlier or they lied.......And I can't blame the school for picking 30....The quota only allows a total of 100 MBBS students..... so the remaining 70 is meant for those currently in 100level that'll Cross to the college( and I'm sure they're above that number, so some will also be dropped)....But it should have been at a ratio of 60:40.......The school made it this way so the same issue that happened earlier this year won't repeat itself......... |

Jay542: Another reason is to contest for any political post. A waec certificate is very much important for an individual. I rest my case. But it's not a requirement for success.... And I'm not saying its a bad thing to obtain a waec certificate/ Degree......... you don't need a degree or waec certificate to own a clothing industry, or other business enterprises........Its just that having a degree is an added advantage |

Nzeokafor:
i was in my room in orile, relaxing (Jejely), when i saw a post by Emilokoiyawon, about UNN admission list. This person said so many things, i felt so so bad that a Nigerian could behave like this i would have called him a ninnyhammer but nairaland rules i have to obey
In his post https://www.nairaland.com/3359156/federal-university-where-over-99
oga Did u check the list of candidate that chose UNN as their first choice? What if the candidates where 100% igbo, how do u want yoruba names to come in? UNN made it so transparent this year, once you get your printout you will see your score and the cut off mark, did any of your family picked UNN, passed d required cut off mark of the aspiring department and was not admitted? Then you said this is a federal University, what do you mean by that statement? (Do you mean that all federal University must admit all tribes irrespective of who applied?) This guy is working in the US, i would have said he is JOBLESS but Nairaland rules... My nigga took his time to check out 15000 names, even NCAN of any branch will not check that amount of names.
What did the Hausas do? When did we condemn them?
i would have said you are an illiterate but i wont. All federal Universities are owned by federal government and they admit on merit, if any of your family member was denied admission, pls tell them to study harder, the sky will be their limit
when it comes to education, no tribe give a fvck, so dont try to make it one sided. U are the one being tribalistic here
Tribalism at its fullest, most yoruba parents dont send their children to eastern universities, they prefer western universities, which is not a bad idea, they are in possession of some of the best universities in Nigeria.
Thats why, you will find IGBOS schooling in UNILAG n UI, no b only u lik beta tin .
But saying they should stop admitting Igbo students is annoying, If they dont admit them who should they admit?
i dont blame u, i blame ur parents... They had the chance of making u think straight but they didn't, because of how tribalistic n biased they are. i am a pure and applied IGBO BOY..my moniker says it all.
I dont support IPOB, i luv my fathers land. I wont take shiit when i c one.

bayslw007: i understand but my course is one with lesser applicants before jamb..i don't know if its this buhari regime that inflated the cut-off..as at last year n the one before it was 49/51 but now its 64..very outrageous..but please i want to know the score range that ELDS would settle for..if its 5 marks short or higher than that The cutoff for ELDS depends on the number of applicants for that course from a particular ELDS and the number of students to be admitted for that state......If for example 5students are to be admitted from Kogi for a course using the ELDS cutoff and only 4 got above the minimum cutoff, they'd all be admitted...but in a case whereby 7 got above the minimum cutoff, the ELDS cutoff for Kogi would be the aggregate of the 5th person on that list |
