Looks like Waldrum is switching to a 3-5-2 Ajibade can barely give a thru pass to set Oparanozie on goal for 3rd. Smh. This match is a poor one for Rash |

Rofiat is doing what and LB will do to make Ajibade work to be easier but....
Rofiat is best performer from that defence. She's gotten more accurate passes than Ebi and Alozie combined. |

AkinDS: Wow. The comments here are interesting.
Haiti, for a team that beat up on Senegal 4-0 last month and also beat the Mexican team in their own backyard 3-0 to qualify for the WWC playoffs a few months ago, I thought we played well in the first half. Their three very good players, Melchie Dumorney, Mondesir and Borgella were kept under wraps by the defense of Onome, Imuran and especially Alozie and Demehin. Demehin had a bit of a shaky start, but settled in very well, matching Melchie's pace and guile for the most part.
Onome has lost some of her steel and was outmuscled off the ball a few times. Would like to see Plumptre in the second half. Save for her glaring misses, Ajibade looked okay on the left flank and she seems to combine well with Imuran who is slowly growing into her own. Not sure Esther is the right option on the right flank, as she seems to lack the necessary pace.
All in all, a controlled and dominant first half for Nigeria. Better coordinated play (than in some of our recent games). Would like to see them move the ball faster, though. Also would like to see a few changes, like Uchenna Kanu, Ucheibe and Plumptre in the second half. Looks like we are ALWAYS watching two different SF matches. I don't get. I'm not going to use that to make Haiti look like worthy opponents. We lack coordination majorly. Ajibade is nothing to write home about. |

mostob: I kinda like the daring runs from Alozie. She gives me more confidence of something happening on that wing than both Ajibade and Esther can. I'm just wondering, Is this how Ajibade plays in her club? You had 3 clear options in front of you but decided to enter traffic and lost the ball. She makes things tick. I wish she played as a wing. Only problem is she will be starved of the ball as there's not going to be a reliable Michelle ar RB to supply ball to RW Michelle. 😂😂 |

mostob: Ebi has spent close to 15 years in the national team yet she doesn't know how the defence and Midfield can synchronize to build up from the back. SMH. Rofiat has been good, Ajibade's selfishness is not making it easy for her. our defence in total. Na only ohale get better vision for that defence. Ajibade is off. |

ThePresenceWtf: At least Ebi has been able to complete her passes to midfield and to Imuran. She's the only defender engaging their attackers and has won a few aerial duels...but she's slow as shit now. Demehin is a non factor... Can't complete a pass to save her life and almost got caught while trying to dribble in her 18, was lucky to be fouled. One thing Ebi has good is her passing. Not as good as you want but she has that on lock. Blessing needs help. |

ThePresenceWtf: She's been only able to complete 1 pass the whole game, and that was a 5cm pass to Alozie at the 33 minute mark. The first simple 5cm pass she attempted to her she misplaced it, the rest of the match she's been hoofing it up field like she's attempting an NFL Field goal or something.
Worst is Randy is just a few meters away from her keeping mum and can't shout orders to her to make adjustments. Smh. 🤦♂️ I thought i was the only one that noticed that. Smh. She almost cost a goal trying to muscle with the Haiti player. This babe doesn't know wwc officiating no care for such rubbish. Isokay. Sam Axe is not the game reader kind of coach. Infact, as much as i dislike Olowookere at the u17 world cup, i trust him to shout at Demehin to fix up asap if he was on the touchline. Sam Axe na zombie |
Sports › Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 3:49pm On Apr 07, 2023 |
lovewins: It's why Randy should have played Ashleigh and Demehin instead. Except he plans to start Onome at the World Cup, playing Ebi and Demehin doesn't make sense. See how they bodied mama and collected the ball from her. The synergy also isn't there. i know we have things really bad, but Ebi starting at WWC is like Thanos with the 6 rings. Annihilation. She lives to leave her position to body player, leaving that space all open for exploitation. One-two will get her useless and minus 2(she's already minus 1 currently) |

PDPGuy: The passing accuracy is much improved, although it’s only Haiti These defenders need to be told how to flow with the middle. These long balls will not work at the WWC. They can't work. We aren't even aerially gifted to be trusting such process that it's the habit of all our matches in the last 3years. |

lovewins: Funny thing is, she's listed as a defender now even in Houston Dash. I probably would have strongly agreed with you 2 years ago, and now in part because Ajibade cannot cross to save her life. Having however seen Mitchell also play, she has same problem. She's also terrible crossing the ball (gets lucky sometimes) and then she's also very clumsy. One of her positives is that she obviously trumps Ajibade when it comes to set pieces.
I also do not think her defensive role is the problem, I think the problem is she hasn't gotten the help needed to help her grow in that role. As a wing back, she can play exactly the same role she would have as a winger.
Remember Victor Moses also did same for Chelsea, then the National team. Ola Aina (who's also converted) does very well offensively. Alexandra Trent of Liverpool does same thing. Mitchell only needs someone who will help her grow in her role and she'll be fine. Sadly she doesn't have that in the Super Falcons. The only club that I know does that effortlessly is Barcelona Femini. Rolfo is currently playing that role now. She was converted and she does that so well. if that's the case then someone to bring competition for the spot supposed to have surfaced by now. Asin hot competition. Besides, any quick thinking coach can as well try her out as a winger too. If being versatile is the excuse. Or just give her WB role. One can't even imagine options cos of this Sam Axe we call coach. I can't even imagine him trying out WB formation. All the best to the girls. 3pm it is |

Deltamani: No much big deal there, she isn’t the first or the last to play different positions for both Club and Country.. At least she’s still playing from the wing but as a Defender and she needs to up her defensive side of the game..! If she’s to make the team she would have to play as a Defender… That's the issue. Ya expecting an attack minded player to just suddenly hack defending intelligence just like that? Besides that was an emergency switch. Are we to assume the emergency is still active from that year till now? What does that say about management. We also clamor for Ashleigh to be played in her more favorable position but suddenly don't want same for Alozie? Haba na. Saka can play LB for club or country. But the football world will vex if they choose LB first for him(even if he was awesome there). Let's just see the natural side of Alozie and let someone else be burdened with such defending intelligence which she obviously lacks. What her crossing game can do now that Oparanozie is back.... Im just for playing to our top strengths and nothing more. I believe you see this too. |

Lovely Finallismo match.
Im not carried away by the show of the 8&9 in camp. But glad they show us they happy.
It's like Michelle Alozie may never play as Winger for us. I hate the feeling that gives me. She has crossing and feints, counter attack speed. This life ehn!! |

lovewins: National team coaches traditionally are full time gigs whether head or assistant.
These dual roles are exceptions, though not necessarily peculiar to Nigeria. Also, it became more pronounced when we had to find local coaches to attach to foreign coaches under the guise of knowledge transfer. another extension of our football mishap in the country. Perhaps that is a way to earn cash that nff will stall. Wise plan maybe. |

This sounds absolutely familiar.
I am however lost on your stance in these events. Or don't you have a say that gets aligned with?
Do you have a close rapport with this young man? Nobody prepares for the changes from teenagers cos they don't always anticipate it. That aside.
Your husband trying to be a dictator than a man your son should look up to is a big problem. The young man already lacked interest whatsoever in pharm. Your husband now wants to play ostrich cos the fees were much? Wow.
I won't be surprised he has an idea about who arranged those thugs to beat him up. If he does, then he may be laying low lf not simply playing along. Any father that does that to his son has lost him totally, unless God intervenes.
I'm glad you acknowledge his football talent well. The fact that parents pray prayers on naming ceremony days and when such prayers are manifesting in blessings and talent, they start to fight it. How Angel Gabriel go kon feel like now?
There were many ways to kill the two birds with a stone, yet your husband has made Peter and Paul to fly away for nothing.
He is definitely waiting for independence. Sadly, the grip is lose. As his mum, he needs to get reassurance this crucial moment. Else,
God forbid. |

🗣”Abia Angels is the best place for me at this moment because I have my National team coach to help and monitor my training,” she tells Tobex Media. Wait, is this a norm around or it's uniquely us? Asst coach and managing a club at same time? Is that proper atall? |

And I can name same for Lagos that can too, I keep saying it is high time they separate this Ministry into two. Youth, Sports, Culture. Some Ministries are just too overburdened. TheGoodJoe: Former Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Ebiede is hospitalised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State after being detected with Hepatitis B, the retired footballer’s sister Joy told The PUNCH on Wednesday morning.
Pictures of the protruding stomach of the 47-year-old ex-international went viral on social media late Tuesday night.

My prayers go out to Emmanuel Ebiede and his family. I pray he pulls through. Such a bright light in football.
I pray God blesses and protects all those supporting him with his medical bills and other welfare.
Get well Super Star aka the WaistBreaker. Sometimes, i wonder if NFF have a book of records where they write the names of ex internationals. Some might argue but this is why i want ex ints to have a large admin part in our football. Stuff like that keeps them busy and able to fend for themselves here and there. But politicians have it all on grip so they cant even feed off scraps. Sad |

Same old Nigeria. We can't even take Grassroot football seriously Who do us this strong thing? I'm sure this was sidelined due to "table of preference" situation. Needless to mention there will be international friendly windows coming up where he can be fully accessed with new players. Much ado about nothing sha...
