Wait, Ighalo is supposedly finished abi?

That guy, and not musa( no offense) should be in the team. His inbox games is one that can make a clueless coach like our Site Contractor to look reallyyyyy really good.

I know, but I'd prefer him on the team than Musa. Guy's teamplay in final third makes him far better than the Harvetz Chelsea is using.

Rivers United defence are giving their gk headache. Their movement in that game was too poor. Plus this communication issue. Everyone wants to budeh the ball. Do they even reason that sleek soft passing that leads to tap ins are sweeter and shows intelligence? 5 players in the box and all turning neck back to see who's behind while ruining the offside line?

True.
At least, we've banished the Tottenham's demon(winning in their home this season after not doing so since 2014). If we can win at Anfield or at least get a draw and we get a result at Etihad, then this team will be one to be very feared entering into next season
We've really did well against top 6 this season. It will be good to finish the H&A with Liverpool.

We have excelled so well this season. It remains that fear factor, something similar to what City and Liverpool once enjoyed prior to now.

Can we win at Anfield?

The answer will solidify our status quo as a club to be feared going into next season, just like Bayern and Barca are feared that year.

Our identity from time immemorial has been individual brilliance and luck

No other identity we have that’s why you noticed

You can’t have least 5 Nigeria players starting in a single club

Because what are we gonna do there ?

Jam body football?

2 afcon back it was etebo wayward shot that hit opponents arm that gave us a pk.

These are the little details
That is why I'm saying that even if city trains and drills, it is no excuse for Nigeria to not have such a style. The female teams have it. See the Sarina style at women's euros alone.

Look at players like Bellingham and Akanji. Different style at club but once in national colors, they understand the style needed to play. So if we wish we had such and the excuse is that city trains 3ice daily, that is not just it.

We go dey alright. We need an impressionist, disciplinarian as manager.

Don’t criticize SE and it’s coaches abeg

We have no football identity

The boys train together Least 20 times in a year

They all have different pattern of play because The country They came from doesn’t have a pattern or play style

They all do what they can and hope for an individual effort to come to the rescue so to me it’s not the coach

But our mentality and style
But this is no excuse even for a big African team like Nigeria. Yes we lack identity, but even the Moroccan Female team have an identity despite all players playing across the world.

Everyone flying home for national games already understand that they are coming home to play the national team style. That's discipline. If they like they can do whatever they can at their clubs.

Well, not bad, at least to wish. We need an identity. Especially Possession style.

I can't even see games where our defenders becomes midfielders during games. I miss Balogun alot for that aspect.

And yes, the quick release by KDB to Mahrez on the right set up an initial 4 v 3 situation in favor of City which Mahrez utilised intelligently by quickly driving into that right halfspace centrally and seeking out Gundogan who had already Pre-Scanned to his left to know that Grealish would be there.

That's part of what I am talking about. Initiating Quick transitions and Taking advantage of the transition situations presented to you. It became 4 v 4 as Mahrez found Gundogan but it was already too late as the 4th man (hendo) running in to cut City's initial 4v3 couldn't pick out Alvarez early enough.

About Discipline... These lads (SE Players) need to be exposed to this system like an automation time and time again in training to drill it into them. They will pick it up and begin using it consistently. Their thought process in the final third will Change if we repeatedly drum this transition mentality into them.
Im glad we know that none of this transition will be achieved by this Site Contractor. Since employers don't even know what they need, it becomes worse when selecting. If na long ball style, a draft of such coaches with that comes in. If na possession-same. If na park the bus.... I wonder what Nff wanted that they got Site Contractor. Kon dey use the useless 'Mou recommended him' thing to April fool all of us🤣🤣

One thing i love about the discipline is that if any big player doesn't behave, they'll get benched for small players that heed the coach's warning. Until the align since playing time is important.

Another thing is how fastpaced approach to the final third is. No slowing down. Shapali shapali, from both teams.

Sincerely, the guy's style dey vex me gaan. He doesn't just understand that being in a threatening spot is way more better than his selfish muscling drama.

See Mahrez! His path to take a shot has been blocked almost 4times this 1st half. Guy shapali release ball and drag away the attention from him, enabling him to be in a more advantageous spot inside the box.

I'll love to see the Ake/Grealish style replicated between Zaidu/Simon(provided Simon get sense).

Ake has done just well enough with Salah. No need for gumbody.

I sincerely thought that was obvious. Ajibade as AM or anywhere in the midfield for that matter is a disaster. I'll rather have a Rita Chikwelu or Okobi in midfield than Ajibade.
At this point, it's looking more like personal interest than the team's interest if anyone thinks like that.

Just look at the quick transition buildup from right to left for that Alvarez goal. Beautiful.

Mahrez penetrates into the right halfspace into the final third against a backtracking Liverpool defence. Finds Gundogan centrally between the lines who quickly and intelligently sends it to the far left to an unmarked Grealish who put it on a plate for Alvarez to Bury.

The quickness in that attacking transition play and the passing flow. Brilliant. We can do this. We have the players for this but our coaches just aren't hammering the need to consistently transit like this as a team in the final third.
I applaud KDB for knowing just when to release the ball. But the top praise is to Grealish. Gundo knew he will be there without looking. Grealish and Ake sync is top despite having dangerous Salah on their wing. No be to dey hold ball dey waste am with muscle like Simon Moses.

Sure we do have the players. But half of the time, they lack discipline

Watching this City vs Liverpool just proves that na carpenter be our SE coach. See how the Liverpool wingers are pressing, while the midfielders are blocking city's next line of pass.

The interchange between Jota and Salah too.

Definitely 50% understanding each other and 50% Discipline

The set up the falcons play is 4-3-3, with 1 AM and 2 defensive minded CMs. So, you don't need 4 AMs but you need backups for the 2CM, 1 each = 4. Don't know why that is so difficult to comprehend.

Ajibade has proven her versatility as an AM for the Falcons, so no point rehashing that obvious fact. When last did Okobi play as an AM for her club? You have 3 CM options, of which 1 of them is suspended for 2 matches. Randy typically plays with 2 CMs so that means you would have no replacements. Lately, Ucheibe has had situations where she crops up an injury and needed to be replaced. So, who do you bring in, wise guy?
Regarding you question about Okobi - Today, perhaps, for Levante Las Planas against Real Madrid. FYI - Toni Payne has also played as AM for the Falcons and acquainted herself well enough, vs. Costa Rica.

So, the fact that someone might have a contrary opinion to yours regarding Debbie Ajibola, means the person is related to her? That would have been laughable, had it not been really pathetic.
Last time I checked, this same domestic league were where the same Onyenezide that you've advocated for plies her trade? And your point is what again?
Anyone satisfied with Ajibade as AM doesn't mean well for this team sincerely. We have a creativity issue and Ajibade can NEVER be the solution. We need others if we want to compete, not only at wafcon, but at this star studded WWC.

You made a nice point about Onyenezidane but fact is all these girls- Onyenezidane, Debbie, flourish and others need time to develop both mentally and physically. For now, they should concentrate on getting good clubs. I don't know what they're still doing in Nigerian league.
The reason wey aren't even seeing the development location as the NT is cos we've been shlty with managers lately. We don't need to be a European team to try these things. We all know how it boosts morale. Imuran and Demehin are already developing with the team. Esther can be like that too.

Another good angle you raised. I dunno why it became so difficult to get clubs for these two especially after that tournament. It took Sam Axe to help get DA something tangible. I just don't get it. But all the best. Maybe agent is wack or they were not placed where eyes will see them, etc.

Whoever made them stay there is not smart. Smh.

E go shock you say na Epl teams go drop the so called 140m. They've been over a dozen moves to EPL lately with ridiculous fees in that region. 100m is looking like chicken change to many of the top 6 clubs now.

SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 8:17pm On Mar 31, 2023
I'll keep on saying it. This SF i know needs Onyenezide. They need her. Superb coaches can risk picking her over more experienced players if they notice what her skillset brings to this team. But Waldrum is none of that. Plus long leg too is a big factor. It's going to be hard for DA to be a starter at wwc. Onyenezide can be a starter. But looks like we want such kind of player to wait for her time in modern times. Time is slim now. All the best to DA.

We still lack creative in the team with the players on ground, remember that. It's a disaster we've faced in years. How many have we score in all....see if we invite the best attacker back to the team and we refuse to resolve creativity issues, we are simply marking attendance.

We saw how creativity was a big problem for the SE days back over two legs, despite having one of the top 3 best attackers in the world in that team. That was qualifiers. A pk gave us a win over 180mins.

This team needs it.

I keep saying we need our own Mothlalo. Esther fits that skillset all rounda, save senior team experience which is not really a big deal. But we meuve.

For now, the best news is Oparanozie coming back. I hope things change on the pitch with her return.
