They're candidate is not known outside of Lagos and some parts of SW.

That's why Thïefnubu went to asslick El rufai for votes in Kaduna yesterday.

There is only so much votes, a governor can influence in an election.

Tinubu will lose the north woefully.. He has no genuine supporters

I like this their strategy.

The north should also vote massively for Atiku... You can't be doing tribalism in the South west and expect northerners to leave their broda and vote your candidate.

I'm a northerner, so you can't tell me how we think any better

Buhari is the only alpha omega the north ever had, his the only one with immense political clout! Atiku has never been popular in the north, just because his a northern l that doesn't mean we will vote for him

Check majority of core northerners on nairaland.. most are supporting Tinubu

Money ni money ki!! Abeg this line is stale and boring
Most northerners are with Atiku or Kwankwaso.

Only the ruling elite and Yoruba people support Tinubu.

Tell yourself the truth.

Tinubu will struggle to win the north as Buhari is not planning to lift a finger for anyone.

Without rigging and underage voting APC go struggle for North o

DaddyFabooluz:
From the way things are going, there is no doubt Peter Obi is loved by man and want him to win. But quite unfortunately for him, his party is a light weight in almost all parts of Nigeria and that is a very big disadvantage in the reality of today's politics in Nigeria.

Tinubu on the Apc side has a strong force around Nigeria but his chances are likely to be cut short because of his muslim muslim ticket. This means that votes will be shared between Tinubu, Peter Obi and Atiku in the South, East and West.

As for Atiku, his victory seems to smile because he has the most dominant forces in the North and that alone can clearly defeat the sharing of votes from the entire South, East and West.

Though the election will be very tight because Apc the ruling party will try to use all means in their disposal to rig and win the election, but PDP knows the game very well and will try to lock head with Apc anyhow they can. Unfortunately LP and Peter Obi can only rely on the huge followers called obidients that have his back but in reality, that will only help split the votes in the South, East and West while Atiku will crush all contestants in the North to claim his victory.

This is just my opinion from the way things are now and everyone is very free to have their own different options. So I come and go in PEACE.
I will vote for obi next year.

But at this point Atiku looks like the incoming president.

APC has lost kano.. All thanks to Kwankwaso

APC will be badly hurt in Kaduna, Bauchi due to the huge Christian population.

APC will lose Sokoto and they'll barely win kastina.

Atiku will give them tough time in NE given that it's his region.

APC needs their bloc vote in the north untouched.. Atiku will win the SS and he'll still get massive vote in the SE.

Tinubu is not even sure of Lagos bloc vote.. PDP managed to win ondo and oyo in the last election.

This time they have oyo, ondo and Osun up for grab... The reality is that the backlash to MM is more than the backlash to 8 more years of northern rule.

All signs point to an Atiku victory

LocalStandard1:
I went through the list and personally I am impressed, very. But that's me, a Christian minority Northerner.

I read some comments from people saying the list is filled with Southerners or Christians, which is actually very false. But putting myself in their shoes, you know for almost a decade now and throughout most of Nigeria's history we are used to seeing every public office mostly occupied by a section of the country, from a specific religion.

Justice, equality and even federal character was never a reality, well maybe with the exception of the Obasanjo's administration that is.

Do you think a Labour Party campaign counsel with names not exceptionally and clearly dominated by the Core North will be taken seriously by the region?

the thread:

His support is mostly in the south and north central.. That's where his focus should be. Even if he appointed sultan of sokoto to his council.. He still won't win the core north

It is clear that Tinubu's campaign is standing on two pillars. His performance as Lagos state governor and the performance of the APC government in the last 7 years. While the Tinubu camp confidently talks about Tinubu's performance in Lagos and anchors their campaigns mainly around it, the same can't be said of Peter Obi's supporters. I haven't seen Obi and his supporters anywhere refer to any of Obi's policies as the reason for trusting his competence and capacity to lead the country.

Obi isn't desperate to be president.. Igbo people aren't obsessed with government and government appointment like Yoruba people and Northerners.

Igbo want someone that can fix the economy so they can keep doing their business and be making money that's all.

They rejected Buhari in 2015&2019 because they knew he had nothing to offer.. The so called educated Yoruba people embraced him.. Now look at where we are
PoliticsRe: On What Basis Would Northerners Be Voting A Tinubu by David160(m): 9:29pm On Oct 11, 2022
Dsalvo:
Don't mind them. They seem to be crudely imploring Northerners to vote clannishly just so Tinubu is defeated and denied.

Yet who loses? Has North ever produce a leader even 10% as visionary or as transformational as Awolowo was?

In fact, many analysts and historians blame the win of Shagari, against Awolowo, as the beginning of the demise of Nigeria in the modern era.

The future of Nigeria is easy to predict. Today it is the North that is close to failing totally due to terrorism, religious extremism, banditry, unfeasible high birth rates etal.

It is Northern leaders failing Northerners. 100% fact. If Northerners are wise, ambitious and desirous of better lives then they will reject Atiku and Kwankwaso.

Buhari was an icon and demigod in the North. Northerners worshipped him and he finally became President.

Yet the North has worsened under him. Should that not be a lesson to the North and Nigeria that we should all rise above tribalism, religion and sectional sentiments to make the right choice?
So Tinubu has turned SW to paradise na?

PoliticsRe: Of Peter Obi Pseudo Igbo Agenda And His Divisiveness. by David160(m): 8:39pm On Oct 10, 2022
Newsline09:
The deceit of Peter Obi's ambition being an Igbo agenda has frequently been used by the many people who have tried to sell the tarnished Peter Obi presidency to me. I guess a new narrative to justify the demagogue and the desperation of the Labour Party Presidential candidate.

I have simply stated the following in response to each of those narratives: Peter only cares about himself and his frantic attempt to hold onto power. Continuing to equate his self-serving desire with regional interest is absurd.
Peter's ambitions are primarily motivated by personal vendetta and not by a common goal. He has been leading the attack on every Igbo stakeholder who is not in support of him with conscious desperation.

Peter Obi, who has continued to disparage all of our great sons and daughters, respected stakeholders, and ambassadors just for his own selfish exaltation, is the greatest enemy of the Igbos in Nigeria today.

How can he claim to be an Igbo candidate or agenda when he has yet to consult with the Igbos' apex body, Ọhaneze ndi Igbo, or many of our respected traditional rulers and custodians of culture and beyond, who are today mostly respected in Nigeria?

We have yet to witness the pool of influential Igbo political figures surround him, join his entourage, or perhaps congregate at "Ime-Obi" to present him with an Ofo in recognition of his claims to be their candidate.

Instead, his assertions that he is an Igbo candidate or that he represents a regional agenda serve only to appease his whims and caprices.

Recently, I read Chief Olisa Metuh, one of the few Igbo stakeholders, lamenting the snobbishness and impolite behavior of the Peter Obi supporters toward respected Igbo leaders. Peter, however, chose to remain silent and allowed his online urchins to continue defaming our elders and leaders for merely choosing to remain brief rather than publicly supporting the kindergarten Labour Party as opposed to their own original political parties. This, for every right-thinking individual, cannot be a regional agenda, but divisiveness.

In the past, we have watched as numerous prominent Igbos have used their ambition to advance national and local interests and win over their people. However, in the case of Peter Obi, we have observed that the man who frequently positions himself as the all-knowing and greatest among others, is busy attacking and denigrating his people just for the sake of his own self-interest and personal taste for power.

Who in their right mind would perceive Peter Obi's self-serving interests, which he has convinced his credulous and vulnerable supporters, are Igbo interests, when his victims have remained his own South East brothers?

Fr. Ejike Mbaka has been the victim of blackmail, intimidation, and sensationalism in order to have him destroyed for no more than holding a dissident opinion. As a result, the adoration ministry—which has continued to offer job opportunities, both emotional and spiritual support to mostly Igbos across the Southeast states—is now facing difficulties and may even collapse. All for Peter Obi to advance his desperation and tainted ambition.

We have also seen how Peter Obi's supporters have continued to denigrate Ike Ekweremadu, Emeka Ihedioha, Dave Umahi, Pius Ayim Pius, and a slew of other relevant Igbo stakeholders for simply expressing their views on national issues concerning the 2023 elections. Obviously, such cannot be the character of a man who wishes to run for office on the basis of a regional agenda when he has made his kinsmen his most victims.

Obi, or anyone else, is being rather unfortunate, hypocritical, pretentious, and cowardly when he asserts that his ambition in the Labour Party is in the best interests of Ndi-Igbo as a whole.

Peter Obi is running for office in his own right, not to advance Igbo interests. This is one truth we must drive deep into the consciousness of our people to rescue them from the lies and deceit of Peter and his cronies who are day-dreaming.

Why APC, Tinubu will win 2023 elections – Akpabio
Published on October 9, 2022By Wale Odunsi

Godswill Akpabio has stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, will emerge victorious in 2023.

The former Akwa Ibom governor noted that the APC and Tinubu have the required competence, capacity, and acceptance.

Akpabio, ex-Niger Delta minister, is the APC candidate for Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District.

He spoke in Ukana on Sunday at a gathering of party members and supporters from the senatorial zone.

“Go all out and campaign for all our candidates because the party has all it takes to win elections from the national to the states,” Akpabio told them.

The politician described Tinubu as a flagbearer with records of good governance and performance to rule Nigeria.

Akpabio called the ex-Lagos helmsman “a tested and trusted leader” who is going into the race as an achiever.

“Presidential contest is for somebody with capacity to deliver and Asiwaju Tinubu represents that,” NAN quoted him saying.

Akpabio hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for the release of the kidnapped train passengers and the second Niger Bridge to be commissioned in December.
